TOPIC: WHAT TO DO AWAY WITH IN OUR LIVES 6: Control Your Anger
MEMORY VERSE:
1 Tim. 6:11
“11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.”
BIBLE READING:
Psalms 4:4
“4 Don’t sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. (NLT)
Many will want to ask if it’s possible not to get angry as Christians, my answer is capital No, it’s not possible not to be angry but, it’s very possible to control the anger because uncontrolled anger leads to danger, destruction and sin against God. One thing about uncontrolled anger is this, it’s makes you the guilty even if you weren’t guilty from the unset. Solomon said,
“22 An angry man stirs up strife, And a furious man abounds in transgression.”
Uncontrolled anger stirs trouble, if as Christians we’re now creating trouble, are we Christ like? Are we preaching Christ to other? No. David said, “Don’t sin by letting anger control you.” In other words, control your anger, don’t give your anger chance to rule over you, know when to talk and when to be quiet. Quiet doesn’t make you a fool but a person in control of his/her anger.
Apostle Paul have this to say about anger,
“26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath,
27 nor give place to the devil.” Eph. 4:26-27.
We are free to speak when man act stupidly so that they won’t take us for a fool and an idiot but we need to know how to present our words in order not to pass the information across with hurting words. We need to be able to control our temper when expressing ourselves. Hope your anger hasn’t get a better side of you? If it does, you need to seek for forgiveness in order not to grieve the Holy Spirit, Eph. 4:30, which is our seal in God. Make all effort to put your anger under your control always, may we be willing to submit to the Holy Spirit at all time in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
