Day 5: As A Minister, What Are You Passing On?
MEMORY VERSE:
2 Timothy 2:2
2 You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.
BIBLE READING:
1 Timothy 3:1-6.
1. This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
2. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
3. Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
4. One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
5. (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
6. Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
Minister of The Gospel; Apostle, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors, Teachers and Helpers in Ministry (all the department and unit in the church), we are all guided by the same qualifications before we can serve before God’s altar. With the scriptural verse above, let’s ask ourselves, are we qualified to serve on God’s altar? Are we still walking with those qualifications? And if Yes, what are you passing on to other upcoming ministers?
Are we not being carried away with duties that has no link with our calling and running after things of the world? Flirting around with members, using members and taken advantages of members? Hope you are not seeing yourselves as the God we prayed to? Sir’s and Ma’s, what are you passing over to the next generation? Are we not depending on our strength rather than the Holy Spirit? Are we not being ruled by position and anointing without the Giver? What are you passing across to the next workers and vessels coming after you?
God Bless you and Good Morning.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
