“15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ”

The Fifth ingredient to be consider for unity to reign is Speaking the Truth in Love. Speaking in truth to one another not minding the consequences. When this is one sided, unity can’t reign in any relationship. Many speak the truth to prove they are better off, some speak the truth to talk others down, and some speak the truth which they can’t abide by either. To speak the truth in love is to speak what you do consistently. You should be an example of what you speak. Also, speaking in truth involves  accepting truth the spoken by others. Who you don’t listen to can’t listen to you. When you refuse the truth from others, they won’t accept your truth either, so, speaking and accepting the truth is a two edged sword. Where the truth is not welcome or accepted, unity can’t be established.

Why do you speak the truth to others, to correct or make them feel ashamed of them self? To disgrace or encourage them? How you speak the truth matters a lot. Let the truth be spoken in Love not in envy or with pride.
