TOPIC: STEPS TO DOUBLE PORTION 9: Don’t Forget Your Uniqueness.
MEMORY VERSE:
Is. 61:7
“7 Instead Of Your Shame You Shall Have Double Honor, and instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs.”
BIBLE READING:
2 Kings 3:14-16.
14 And Elisha said, “As the LORD of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not look at you, nor see you.
15 BUT NOW BRING ME A MUSICIAN.” THEN IT HAPPENED, WHEN THE MUSICIAN PLAYED, THAT THE HAND OF THE LORD CAME UPON HIM.
One of the mistake many followers demonstrates is, forgetting or doing away with their uniqueness. Everyone have a way of communicating with God. How God speaks to me differs from how you hear God. Most times people neglect their ways of communication with God and focuses or learn how their Elijah hears from God, No, that is not God’s way. We don’t imitate our Elijah, we learn from them and add to what God has deposited in us. Elijah was a man that speaks the mind of God always without the help of anyone. How you relate with God shouldn’t change because you’ve receive the Double Portion of Elijah.
Elisha recognizes how God relate with him. He didn’t just speak like Elijah will do. He asked for a minister; a singer, to sing before He could hear from God directly. He maintain that link with God after receiving Double Portion. That double portion you received is meant to function with that uniqueness in you. Stop imitating your Elijah. You don’t need to change your voice, your appearance or force yourself to be accepted as your Elijah. Maintain your uniqueness as the power rest upon you and keep being a blessing to those God has assigned you to. Double Portion doesn’t change your uniqueness, it enhances it.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
