20 Then Elisha died, and they buried him. And the raiding bands from Moab invaded the land in the spring of the year.

21 So it was, as they  were burying a man, that suddenly they spied a  band of raiders; and they put the man in the tomb of Elisha; and when the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and  stood on his feet.”

Elijah was a successful leader who handed over to A successor, Elisha. The kingdom still felt the impart of Elijah, through Elisha, after his departure but Elisha failed in this area. Whatever you are called to do you need to seek for a successor who will take over from you. You need to build someone to continue that vision after you. Continuity is the secret of every ministry life.

Elisha was a great man with Double Portion of Elijah’s Grace and Power but he couldn’t transfer the power to anyone. You said, Gehazi was suppose to received the grace, yes but He didn’t because he wasn’t capable to handle the ministry of a prophet. Elisha would have seek the face of God concerning who will succeed him. He would have prayed about it. This same reason was why Samuel’s children was rejected by Israel and ask for a king. Great men failed in this area, they focus more on their calling without thinking of a successor. Are you thinking about this now? Elisha went to the grave with the Double Portion he received which is a lesson to learn from His life. Strive to seek for your successor before it becomes late. As you have received,  ensure you give freely also.
