TOPIC: HOW ACCOMMODATING ARE YOU? 2: Give A Good Meal.
MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 10:41.
“41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.”
BIBLE READING:
Gen. 18:3-5.
“3 and said, “My Lord, if I have now found favor in Your sight, do not pass on by Your servant.
4 Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.
5 And I will bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh your hearts. After that you may pass by, inasmuch as you have come to your servant.” They said, “Do as you have said.”
Our focus yesterday on Being Accommodating was to give a shelter. Let your home welcome a guest, a stranger not just those who ask but those whom the spirit will be leading you to also. Today we’ll go the extra mile by Giving A Good Meal. What do I mean by “A Good Meal? Many avoid giving a meal to a stranger not to talk of a good meal. When you have a guest, it’s not for long, make him/her comfortable for that moment, you don’t know who he/she might turn out to be. The first thought our mothers will think of is, “the last meal at home is for the children” just like the widow of Zarephath told Elijah, that isn’t how to welcome a stranger. Make him/her a meal, not left over meal, (except if that’s all you have at home) but a delicious meal that will make him/her release the blessings.
Abraham welcome God and the Angels into his house and offered them a good meal. He hastened his wife and servant to make a good meal for them and was served. God and the angels ate to satisfaction while Abraham watch to know their mission. Then, the promise was pronounced. Never treat a stranger with hatred, treat them well. Make them enjoy that little moment because you don’t know who they are neither do you know their mission. Give them a good meal before they take their leave and let God perfect what concerns you.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
