TOPIC: God is Present 1: God Is Our Refuge
MEMORY VERSE:
Psa 46:1.
God [is] our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
BIBLE READING:
Psa 91:1
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
What is a Refuge?
1: shelter or protection from danger or distress.
2: a place that provides shelter or protection
3: something to which one has recourse in difficulty.
So, David is saying, God is our Refuge; shelter, protection, hedge from every negative and invisible attacks and weapon. The same David expanciates further with Psalms 91, by saying, only under the Refuge of God is where we are secured and protected. In order words, when we are under this shelter we are invincible to the arrows of the devil.
Job 1:6-10
6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
Job was under the refuge of God daily and it was very glaring to the devil, that means, he has tried many times but to no avail. This is my point brethren, God being your Refuge doesn’t stop challenges from coming towards you, but He will stop the challenges from defeating you. Is God your Refuge? Does He know you at all? You can only be protected when He is your Refuge. Check yourself if you are under He’s refuge.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
