TOPIC: YOU ARE REPLACEABLE:
STOP THAT ENVY

Memory Verse: 1 Kings 19:18
“18 Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not  bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not  kissed him.”

Bible Reading: 1 Sam. 18:7-11
“7 So the women sang as they danced, and said:  “Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands.” 8 Then Saul was very angry, and the saying  displeased him; and he said, “They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed only thousands. Now what more can he have but the kingdom?” 9 So Saul eyed David from that day forward. 10 And it happened on the next day that the distressing spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied inside the house. So David played  music with his hand, as at other times; but there was a spear in Saul’s hand. 11 And Saul cast the spear, for he said, “I will pin David to the  wall!” But David escaped his presence twice.”
A King and a mighty man was envious of a young shepherd. Envy is simply despising someone for what he has and you lack. “How can he be credited with killing ten thousands Philistines and a thousand was credited to me?” That was the beginning of his envy against David. King Saul was so covered with envy to the extent of leaven the throne behind and pursuing after a small boy, David. Envy pushed him to the extent of disobeying God and falling out of favour with  God, I pray with you today, envy with not take your focus away from God, it won’t cause your replacement in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Many will always have what you lack or have more than you, always remember, there are things you have that they also lack. You can admire what others have but please, don’t envy them. David would have killed King Saul twice but the fear of God wouldn’t allowed him do that. He would have envied throne of Saul and killed him, but he didn’t. Those people you envied will always replace you if care is not taking. Stop envying your subordinate,  your superior, your spouse or your colleagues. God never heard it in mind to make David replaced Jonathan, King Saul made it happen.
Holy Spirit of God, help me overcome the spirit of envy in my life. Help me appreciate what you’ve blessed me with above what others have in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

TOPIC: YOU ARE REPLACEABLE:
CONTROL YOUR ANGER

Memory Verse: 1 Kings 19:18
Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

Bible Reading: Num. 20:7-12, Deut. 1:37-38
“7 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
8 “Take the rod; you and your brother Aaron gather the congregation together. Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water; thus you shall bring water for them out of the rock, and give drink to the congregation and their animals.”
9 So Moses took the rod from before the LORD as He commanded him.
10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly  together before the rock; and he said to them,  “Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for  you out of this rock?”
11 Then Moses lifted his  hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and  water came out abundantly, and the  congregation and their animals drank.
12 Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron,  “Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”
Deut. 1:37-38
“37 The LORD was also angry with me for your  sakes, saying, ‘Even you shall not go in there.
38 Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall go in there. Encourage him, for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.”
As a leader, you need to be able to accept people as they are. You need to always close your eye to some attitude from your follower. Likewise, as Christians, we need to work on our anger. People can make us angry to the extent of offending God and this can make God replace us with someone better, younger and more accepted than we do, may we not get into anger that will destroy us in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
The most humble man on earth, who has been pleading on behalf of the Israelite many times made a mistake angrily and this led to the end of his journey with God and a replacement was made for him, what a mistake? He took these people out of Egypt, led them through the wilderness, crossed many challenges but  because of anger, God ended his journey. Father, help me not to make a costly mistake with anger in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
How do you handle your anger? Does it have power over you or you do control it? With anger Moses forgot the instructions of God and struck the rock twice instead of speaking to the rock. Work on your anger. Control it before it cause your replacement.
Oh Lord, help me put my anger under control on a daily bases, I need your Spirit to help me out   always, in Jesus Mighty Name I pray, Amen.

TOPIC: YOU ARE REPLACEABLE: Train Your Child

Memory Verse: 1 Kings 19:18
Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 2:27-35
27 Then a man of God came to Eli and said to  him, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Did I not clearly  reveal Myself to the house of your father when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh’s house? 28 Did I not choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be My priest, to offer upon My altar, to burn  incense, and to wear an ephod before Me? And  did I not give to the house of your father all the offerings of the children of Israel made by fire? 29 Why do you kick at My sacrifice and My offering which I have commanded in My  dwelling place, and honor your sons more than Me, to make yourselves fat with the best of all the offerings of Israel My people?’ 30 Therefore  the LORD God of Israel says: ‘I said indeed that  your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.’ But now the LORD says: ‘Far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly  esteemed. 31 Behold, the days are coming that I  will cut off your arm and the arm of your father’s  house, so that there will not be an old man in  your house. 32 And you will see an enemy in My dwelling place, despite all the good which God does for Israel. And there shall not be an old man in your house forever. 33 But any of your men whom I do not cut off from My altar shall  consume your eyes and grieve your heart. And all the descendants of your house shall die in the flower of their age. 34 Now this shall be a sign to you that will come upon your two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas: in one day they shall die, both of them. 35 Then I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who shall do according to what is in My heart and in My mind. I will build him a sure house, and he shall walk before My anointed forever.
It is a bad thing to perform below the expectation of God. God is merciful but His mercies can expire if taken for granted. God hasn’t created who he can’t replace and no one is indispensable to God. God can change anything at any time. That you are in favour with God today doesn’t mean you can’t be replaced. Every body has a time frame to function for God but you can choose to be expired before your time, I pray with everyone reading this devotional today, myself inclusive, we will not expire before completing our mission on Earth in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Before God replaced Eli household as a priest, He gave him information about his children behaviours. God warned him before the destruction and the replacement. When God was tired of showing him mercy He replaced him with Samuel, a young boy for that matter,
1 Sam. 3:19-21,
“19 So Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him  and let none of his words fall to the ground. 20  And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that  Samuel had been established as a prophet of the LORD.
Why was He replaced? God said, He honour his children more than Him, 1 Sam. 2:29, are you ready to be replaced because of your children’s behaviour? Hope you know God is also interested in the future of those children as He is interested in yours? How are you handling the upbringing of your children? Will you be replaced by God or your children will take over from you?
Father, give me the grace for parenting, I don’t want to be replaced by you, I want my children to take over from me, so help me Lord, Amen.

TOPIC: OH LORD, SAVE OUR LAND

Memory Verse: Ps. 120:7
“7 I am for peace; But when I speak, they are for war.”

Bible Reading: Ps 120:6-7
“6 My soul has dwelt too long With one who hates peace. 7 I am for peace; But when I speak, they are for war.”
WE NEED PEACE NOT WAR OH LORD
Dear Nigerian and Nigerian Christians, the peace of the nation determine the peace of the Gospel in the nation. Our God loves peace despite His accolades, as, The Man of War, The Invisible warrior who has never lost a battle, still, He desire peace to reign wherever His name is mentioned. King David said in Psalms 122:6-9,
“6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you.
7 Peace be within your walls, Prosperity within your palaces.”
8 For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, “Peace be within you.”
9 Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek your good.”
I will like us to raise our voices today, being the 12th Day of June, a memorable day in the history of this Nation, and decree peace on the walls of this nation, Ps. 122:7.
God, in His power should rule over this nation, 2 Chronic. 20:6
He will touch the heart of the leaders of this nation and turn it to Himself, Pro. 21:1.
He will frustrate every negative plans against this nation, Job 5:12-14.
Let God arise and let the enemies of this Great Nation be scattered, Ps. 68:1.
Every forms of blood shed should seize in Jesus Mighty Name,
Job 22:26-29,
“27 You will make your prayer to Him, He will hear you, And you will pay your vows. 28 You will also declare a thing,  And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways. 29 When they cast you down, and you say, ‘Exaltation will come! ’  Then He will save the humble person.”
Let us make the decrees and not just complain.
Numb. 14:28,
“28 Say to them, ‘As I live,’ says the LORD, ‘just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you:”
Lord Jesus, grant our desires over Nigeria, in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

TOPIC: TAKING THE RIGHT STEP

Memory Verse: Ps. 37:23
“23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.”

Bible Reading: Gen. 39:7-10
“7 And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.” 8 But he refused and said to his master’s wife,  “Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand. 9 There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything  from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin  against God?” 10 So it was, as she spoke to Joseph day by day,  that he did not heed her, to lie with her or to be with her.”
THROUGH FAITHFULNESS TO GOD
One of the most scacres virtue in Christiandom is Faithfulness. Faithfulness to the man you can see is what defines your faithfulness to God (whom you cannot see). When it comes to money issues, faithfulness is very rare amongst all. When we talk about extramarital affair, It’s no more a sin to many. Even some ministers of the gospel indulge in extramarital affairs. Faithfulness to your superiors in Christianity and work place, In marriage and in families, it has become a forgoten issue.
Joseph’s faithfulness to God and his master was a prove of great virtue in him. He took the right step when needed, though it landed him in the prison but it later earned him the throne. How many christians can be so faithful in such situation?
Mary, the mother of Jesus, her faithfulness was what brought Jesus to this world. She kept her virginity intact. For four hundred years, between Malachi and Matthew, a faithful and virgin lady wasn’t found until Mary’s faithfulness came to place. Joseph, her husband to be, was also a faithful man,
He harkened to the voice of God to accept Mary and he took the right step by not touching her for good nine months.
Can your faithfulness be tested? We’ve been praying, fasting, keeping night prayers, asking and putting our hands to work but faithfulness is lacking.
Luke 16:10, He who is  faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.”
Father, help my unfaithfulness. Give me the grace to take the right step of faithfulness in all you’ve handed over to me, In Jesus Mighty Name have I prayed, Amen.

TOPIC: TAKING THE RIGHT STEP

Memory Verse: Ps. 37:23
“23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.”

Bible Reading: Prob.16:3
“3 Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established.”

THROUGH PRAYERS
We’ve been studying on how to take the right step in other to enjoy what God has in stock for us all. Today, we will be talking about prayers. Prayer, as we all know, is communicating with God, revealing to God the thought of your heart, making your desires known to God. God knows all things. He knows what our needs are and how to get to our predestined destination on earth but He want us to speak to Him about it. He desire that we make our request known to him.
In Exodus 3:8-10, God told Moses, He has heard the cry of the israelites concerning their slavery. Meanwhile, He designed Four Hundred years for them in the land of Egypt, Gen. 15:13-14, but as a result of not praying to God extra Thirty years was spent in Egypt, Exo. 12:40-41. You just have to pray to God to remind Him of His promises, His prophesies and His plans concerning your life.
Jesus, in Mark 10:46-52, met the blind Bartimeaus, seeing him blind, He still asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” Which was the right question. He might be in need of money or house or something else, so God only attend to what you request of Him, aside He rewarding you of your services, you need to commit your endeavors to Him.
King Solomon said, “Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established.” Not just your works but anything. Do you need to get information of Him? Ask Him in prayer. Do you need directives about your next steps? Go to Him and make a request. Crying is not the right step neither is revenge the right step. The right step is going to God in prayers. Commit the reproach and mockery to Him and He will handle it on your behalf.
My God and My King, Jehovah over do, I commit my endeavours into your hands, give me a breakthrough result, end all shames around me and gain all the Glory in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

TOPIC: TAKING THE RIGHT STEP

Memory Verse: Ps. 37:23
“23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.”

Bible Reading: 1 kings 1:13-15
“13 Again, he sent a third captain of fifty with his  fifty men. And the third captain of fifty went up,  and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and  pleaded with him, and said to him: “Man of God,  please let my life and the life of these fifty  servants of yours be precious in your sight. 14  Look, fire has come down from heaven and  burned up the first two captains of fifties with  their fifties. But let my life now be precious in  your sight.” 15 And the angel of the LORD said to Elijah, “Go down with him; do not be afraid of him.” So he arose and went down with him to the king.”
THROUGH RIGHT PRESENTATION
Everything in life has two phases as a coin has two phases. Every spoken words can be presented in two different ways. There’s a way you can say “sorry” and one gets angry and the same “sorry” been presented in a different way to the same person can quench anger. Presentation of your your words goes a long way to determine the right step. Between couples, superiors and subordinate, the way you present your discomfort matters a lot. Your presentation determines the responses you get.
One Hundred and two soldiers have been consumed by fire through wrong presentation of their assignment. The Man Of God releases fire on them despite being under the authority of the king. Then, here comes a captain and his fifty with the same message from the same king but with a different approach. He went on his knees and gave a good presentation of the act of the man of God as against the others captains and their men. He hadn’t delivered the message yet, before the angel gave an order to follow him.
As a wife/husband, how do you make your presentation? As a staff, how do you present a case to your superiors that it’s not your fault? As a worker in the vine yard, how do you explain situation to your leader proving, you are being led by the Holy Spirit to do what you are doing? When you are accused of offences not committed, how do you present your case? When you are proving your right you might present it wrongly; your presentations matters. Without the wisdom of God, it will be very hard to take right steps even with accumulated experiences. Your presentation matters in taking the right step.
Father, give me the mindset to present myself in the right way when it matters and where it matters in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

TOPIC: TAKING THE RIGHT STEP

Memory Verse: Ps. 37:23
“23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.”

Bible Reading: Ruth 1:14-18
“14 Then they lifted up their voices and wept  again; and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but  Ruth clung to her. 15 And she said, “Look, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law.” 16 But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God. 17 Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The LORD do so to me, and more also, If anything but death parts you and me.” 18 When she saw that she was determined to go with her, she stopped speaking to her.”
SELFLESS DECISIONS
Today, I will like to discuss about taking steps that are selfless, Yes, selfless decisions. Most and often times, we make decision that are selfish, that is all about us, what will please us alone, and those decisions hasn’t gotten us far more than where we are today. Most times we regret those decisions we made and still we go on making selfish decisions, we need to consider our decisions.
Ruth, a young lady, not a single mother but a childless widow at a tender age. How eager was she suppose to be in getting another man? Any opportunity for her to leave her mother in-law was suppose to be grabbed speedily, but there she was, determined not to let her go.
My spiritual mother told us an incident about her job hustling in her earlier days. She’s been going to a specific office for an appointment. One day, she went with her friend to the same office and some days later, the man in person asked her, “would you like me to offer your friend job? My Spiritual mother said, “yes”. The man asked, “even if she’s getting the job before you?” She answered, “yes, as long as I will get mine later”.
Her friend got the job ahead of her and she has to wait for another time. Brethren, when another offer was available she was place in another ministry where her friend still work under her. Selfless decisions looks stupid but it’s always the best step to take.
Ruth went with Naomi, found another man, Boas, who later became the grand father of King David. Your decisions shouldn’t always be about Me, I and myself. Consider others. Make decision which will lead you to the right step. The scripture never mentioned about the other in-law of Naomi but Ruth have a memorable record in the Bible today.
Father in the Name of Jesus, help me overcome the me,  mentality. Give me the grace  to consider others too as a right step, thank you Jesus for hearing me, Amen.

TOPIC: TAKING THE RIGHT STEP

Memory Verse: Ps. 37:23
“23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.”

Bible Reading: Esther 4:13-16
“13 And Mordecai told them to answer Esther:  “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. 14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for  such a time as this?” 15 Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in  Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink  for three days, night or day. My maids and I will  fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which  is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”
OBEDIENCE TO ELDERS
God lives in heaven but attached people to us in order to guide our steps. Some might be professionals, some illiterate, other might even be our parent, Pastors, in-laws and many more. Elders are always available around us to guide us into taking the right step. Many elders have been hated for giving right directives which looks contrary to our intentions.
Esther was a slave without a parent except an uncle who brought her up and directed her till she emerges as the Queen. Despite her position she still listens to him. She has a director who showed her the right steps to take. She so much respected and believed in this man called Mordecai. The man gave her the right steps to take in order to rescue the Jews from the hand of Harman and his destructive plans and she followed suit.
Do you have an elder guiding your steps? Do you respect and listen to the elders? Because you are richer and educated than they are, do you still follow their leading? Note, The Elders can see farther than you. King Jeroboam in, 1 Kings 12, rejected the advice of the elders and accepted that of his friend and this step caused the breaking out of ten tribes of Israel leaving him with two tribes. Prophet Moses was guided in the right step by Hus in-law, Jethro, and moses lived longer, Ex. 18. God does speaks through our Elders. Do you have elders around you? Listen to them. You can’t have knowledge than your parent, listen to them, they are guiding you in the right step.
Father, surround me with good Elders who will lead me into taking right steps, In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

TOPIC: TAKING THE RIGHT STEP

Memory Verse: Ps. 37:23
“23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.”

Bible Reading: Joshua 2:8-13
8 Now before they lay down, she came up to them on the roof, 9 and said to the men: “I know that the LORD has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen  on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you. 10 For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly  destroyed. 11 And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath. 12 Now therefore, I beg you, swear to me by the LORD,  since I have shown you kindness, that you also will show kindness to my father’s house, and give me a true token, 13 and spare my father, my mother, my brothers, my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.”
THE FEAR OF GOD
The step of every man and woman dictates who they become. Every decision made is a step. It will be good to know that, many refuse to make their decision so others made it for them. Some made their decisions according to other people’s decisions because it’s working for other party. Every decisions you made without the fear of God will always lead you astray, may we never take the wrong steps in our lives in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Rehab took the best steps of her life when she hid the spies sent by Joshua. May be she did that to advance her business, as a prostitute, but the Fear of God changed her heart. She decided to speak with the spies and ask for the safety of her family and the step profited her household, she was recorded in the linage of Jesus Christ, Halleluyah.
When your steps are not ordered by the Fear of God, you are on your way to destruction. You might not be that righteous but when you decided to take any step in the fear of God it’s going to lead you to your destination. Who knows if the prostitution embarked on was as a result of the happenings Jericho, but when she got into the mist of the Israelite her new step singled her out, I pray with you today, The Fear of God will determine your next steps in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Father, help me guide my steps this week in the Fear of God, in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
