TOPIC: HOW DO YOU TREAT YOURSELF? 5: Discipline Yourself.
MEMORY VERSE:
Mark 12:31.
“31. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”
BIBLE READING:
Genesis 39:7-9.
“7. And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.
8. But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;
9. There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”
No one is ready for greatness without being discipline. To be discipline is to put oneself under control at all times. It goes beyond respecting people, it includes how we manage our time, our resources, what we lust after, what we say to people and how we treat ourselves. It’s also includes our spiritual lives, how we manage work and family. To be discipline is all encompassing. Eating habit, talking habit, fashion habit and decision taking, one needs to handle these area importantly.
From the story of Joseph, how would it have be if he wasn’t discipline when his boss’ wife lusted after him, if he had granted her wish, will he ever rose to the position of prime minister of Egypt? When we are discipline, it denies us some pleasures but the gain is always far greater than the pain. To be discipline present you qualified for your rightful place. It also involves doing the right thing at the right time and doing it rightly. How discipline are you? We need to be strict with ourselves in order to have a better us everywhere we go. To be Discipline is more powerful than to be anointed because anointing without discipline is failure. Learn to discipline yourself always, by so doing you are treating yourself well.
