Ephesians 5:16
16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.
BIBLE READING:
Mark 10:47.
“47. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.”
Welcome to a wonderful day beloved of God, as we proceed with our study on The Blind Bartimaeus. Another lesson to learn from this man was calling Jesus by His real name, have you noticed that? Most times Jesus was addressed as the Son of God, son of Mary, Jesus Christ, but Blind Bartimaeus called Jesus differently, meaning he had a pre-knowledge of whom Jesus is. The scripture said he cried out saying, “Jesus, thou Son of David” a wonderful knowledge of whom Jesus is from a blind Man. Our knowledge of whom we speak to determine His response to our cry. Calling Jesus by name, Thou Son Of David, Jesus the Messiah, Jesus The Son Of God, is a way to enhance response to our prayers. When Abraham was on His way to sacrifice His son Isaac, He made the same statement when Isaac made inquiries about the sacrifice, Abraham called God “The Provider”, and God did made the provision, Gen 22:7-8. What you call God determines His speedy response to your request.
When you pray, what do you call Him? What knowledge of God do you apply when relating with Him? That’s the need of praising God when we pray, to call Him by names which makes Him listen to our request. Who do you know God to be? Relate with Him more than just a God but as Father, Source, Dependant, Saviour, not just what other says but your experience of Him. Blind Bartimaeus attracted Jesus through the knowledge of Jesus’ name.
Good Day and God bless you.
