TOPIC : SENSITIVITY IN FAMINE 5: Thanksgiving Attitude

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Kings 17:2.
“2. And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,”

BIBLE READING:
Matthew 15:34-36.
“23. And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
35. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
36. And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.”
Today’s lesson is from our Lord and maker, Jesus Christ. Seeing how He handled the situation when the resources available was less compare to the present need. There was over four thousand people to be fed after listening to Jesus’ message. He fed them with spiritual meal but the physical needs also needed to be attended to and the situation was compare to famine. Jesus asked what was available and the disciples said, “Seven loaves of bread and few fishes.” When it was handed over to Him the scripture said, “And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks.” Thanksgiving in famine brings increase, it changes limited resources to surplus. Over eight thousand souls were fed with seven loaves of bread and few dishes.
In famine, we need to learn to thank God. Yes we need Faith that things will be fine. We need prayers but above all we need to keep thanking God because He always hears us, He is the El-shaddai, all sufficient God. When we thank Him, He glorifies Himself. How often do we thank Him in famine? It’s time to always remember to say, Thank You Jesus For You Know Better.
Good Day and God Bless you.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
