Topic: HANDLING DEPRESSION 5: Don’t Be Idle
MEMORY VERSE:
Proverbs 24:10.
“10. If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
BIBLE READING:
Colossians 3:23.
“23. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”
A wonderful morning to us all. As we continue with our study today, we shall be focusing on “Don’t Be Idle” as another solution to Depression. One of the ways to suppress depression is by being active, being positively occupied with a responsibility. When You have nothing doing your heart will find something to think about which will always bring about depression. An empty mind is a settled heart for the devil to rule, but when you occupy yourself, with all your heart, little attention won’t be available for depression. As the saying goes, an idle hand is a workshop for the devil. When you have nothing to think ahead of, to put your mind to, depression will take over your heart.
Apostle Paul speaking to the Colossians, especially, those who serve, which everyone of us are meant to be part of, to find something to do and do it diligently with all their heart. When your hand is actively doing a business or working, your mind will always be focused to see that you succeed in that area. Stop being idle. Stop sitting without doing positive things to divert your focused mind. Do that business, work, marriage and ministry with all your heart and forget all the losses, then negative memory and depression will be a thing of past. Engage your hand and mind positively with good work. Don’t be idle.
Good Day And God Bless you.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
