TOPIC: WHAT KILLS FAITH? 6: Comparison With Others.
MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 11:1.
“1. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
BIBLE READING:
2 Corinthians 10:12.
“12. For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”
We, as Christians, are to be encouraged and motivated by the growth of other’s faith. We’re to be lifted by seeing and hearing other’s testimony of faith not to compare ourselves with them. We’re not to use them as a measure to know where our faiths lies. Faith is in sizes and depends on our connectivity with God. When we begin to compare our level of faith with others, we tend to find reasons to kill our Faith.
Someone’s faith may carry him to fast for ten, fifteen or twenty-one days; that you can’t meet up with seven days fasting doesn’t mean your faith is dead or you are not growing. Growth is in level. Many men of God today were no where to found twenty years back, but now they are there at the top. If they had compare them selves with others years back, they can’t be where they are today. Comparison kills faith faster, it weakens one from growing.
Apostle Paul said, we shouldn’t be unwise by comparing ourselves with other. We only need to see, admire and grow, not trying to be like others. When you live on comparison you become a second handed vessel to others. Comparison leads to competition and God doesn’t call us to compete but to function in our called area. The more you compare yourself with others, the more you miss your track in Faith. Stop killing your Faith with comparison. Focus on growing your faith in your calling and your Faith will bring glory to God.
Good Morning And God Bless You.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
