TOPIC: WHAT KILLS FAITH? 5: Title Oriented.
MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 11:1.
“1. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
BIBLE READING:
Matthew 23:1-6.
“1. Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
2. Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat:
3. All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
4. For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
5. But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
6. And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogue.
Today’s discussion centred on title oriented persons. Title brings over familiarity with God if one doesn’t watch out. It’s one of the killers of Faith. You tend to do somethings because of the title you are carrying and looses focus on your faith with God. As title holders, most times we work by title and not by faith. We believe God is with us without hearing from Him and taking decisions. Most times we find it too difficult to hear from God, study His word and even pray as it may be.
This was the case of the pharisees, leaders of the law. They left their faith behind and were carried away by activities and the law. Title is simply an avenue to serve not to impose one self on others. That department you are can kill your faith if not well handed. Don’t be title driven. Don’t be Talent driven. Don’t be position driven. It kills your Faith. As you earn the title work on your faith. Stop seeing yourself as someone who has achieved it all because your faith might be dieing gradually. Don’t be a title oriented person, work on your Faith.
Good Morning And God Bless You.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
