TOPIC: OUR GOD’S REQUEST 2: TO TRUST HIM

Memory Verse: Gen. 17:1
“1 When Abram was Ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.”

Bible Reading: Gen. 22:1-3
“1 Now it came to pass after these things that  God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!”  And he said, “Here I am.”
2 Then He said, “Take now your son, your only   son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering  on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”
3 So Abraham rose early in the morning and  saddled his donkey, and took two of his young  men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the  wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.”
A wonderful and powerful story of the Bible that is better read than experience. God insisted on Abraham sending Ishmael away and gave Him the promised child, Isaac. It got to a point, God requested for the promise child, the only son Abraham has, Isaac. His wife, Sarah, must have been above One Hundred years of age as at then. The father must have been close to One Hundred and ten years and above, and God called to ask for the son as a sacrifice, how difficult was such a request from God? What God was simply asking from Abraham there was this, ‘can you trust me now?’
Abraham failed In trusting God by yielding to the advice of His wife about Hagar. God has proved Himself to be true to His word and now, He is testing the trust of Abraham if he is matured, and Abraham proved that, He is more mature in trusting God. He rose up early, took the needful and began the journey according to God’s instruction, and we all knew how it ended. What God want from us is to trust Him. To hold Him by His word. To believe that, what He says He will do, that’s what He will do.
No matter the situations, God wants us to trust Him. Prov. 3:5-7
“5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil.”
Until we submit our reasoning to God, we won’t be able to walk with Him. Until we trust God above our experience, knowledge, wisdom and brainstorming, we can’t get the best of God. What God promised you might be delayed but with your trust in Him, it will come to pass. Keep following His instructions. Do not doubt what He promised you because, your trust in God is your connector to His promises. Trust Him above other things else and He will not disappoint you.
