TOPIC: BENEFITTING FROM GOD’S WORD 2:
By Meditating On God’s Word

Memory Verse: Jere. 23:29
“Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?”

Bible Reading: Joshua 1:8
“8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and  then you will have good success.
What is Meditation? Meditation simply means to ponder about something, to think deeply, focus to get a point from what you are studying or reading. Meditation is the brain behind successful studying. Many read and studied the Word of God without meditation, so therefore, they easily forget what they read and gained nothing from it. Through meditation on God’s Word is where the voice of God is heard. That is when we hear the voice of the Holy Spirit clearer.
God was speaking to Joshua how he can successfully handle the word passed over to Him by Moses. He said,
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night”.
Meditation comes after the reading of God’s word. You keep pondering on what you read, how it affect your life, what lesson is there for you to grasp. In doing this with God’s word, then,
“For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
We meditate over our carrier more than we do with God’s word. So we keep discovering where to develop ourselves but not in God’s word. We listen to God’s servant in our various churches and concluded the man of God is speaking about us, but never meditate if what He/She is saying is the truth about us. To be a Genuine Christian we need to develop the habit of meditating on God’s Word. The more we do the more we discover ourselves and enjoy success in all we do. We benefit better from God’s word when we meditate on His word.
Good Morning.
