TOPIC: OUR RESPONSIBILITY 6: TO OUR BOSS/SUPERIORS

Memory Verse: Roman 13:7
“7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.”

Bible Reading: Colo. 3:22-25
“22 Bondservants, obey in all things your masters  according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as  men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing  God.
23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,
24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the  inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
25  But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.”
1 Tim. 6:1-2
“1 Let as many bondservants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and His doctrine may not be blasphemed.
2 And those who have  believing masters, let them not despise them  because they are brethren, but rather serve  them because those who are benefited are  believers and beloved. Teach and exhort these  things.”
Every one desire to employ workers that will be productive, and that is the reason for payment, salary or call it wages. It’s the joy of a leader to have workers who submit and justify his payment. It’s our responsibility to be loyal to our bosses, our employers since we have a wage for every work done. Many staff are inactive, rendering eye service, and dishonours their employers and by these, they prove to be irresponsible employees and this is against God’s instructions. As we are responsible to others we need to be responsible to our employers also.
Apostle Paul speaking to the Colossians and Timothy said, obey your masters and serve them with a sincere heart. While doing this, you are doing it for God. God has ordained that employer to take care of your needs as you render your services which is your responsibility. Honouring your leaders is your responsibility. Being faithful to your leader as long as you are serving him/her is your responsibility. As this is done you are obeying the Lord’s instructions.
1 Tim. 5:18,
“For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.” The labour that is worthy of his/her wages is the responsible labourer, who meets up with his/her duties. Irresponsibility acts are as follow, unpunctual, absenteeism, laziness, complaining, giving excuses, and so on, God is aware of all these acts and He is not happy with such who indulge in them. If your superiors can’t make mention of you for a better opportunities, check if you have been responsible to him. Be responsible to your leaders no matter who they are and how their characters are.
