TOPIC: OUR RESPONSIBILITY 8: TO EVERYONE
Memory Verse: Roman 13:7
“7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.”
Bible Reading: Heb. 12:14
“14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:”
The world would have been a better place if we all follow the Bible reading for today, but it’s a pity that, in Christiandom, peace is a thing of the past. Gossiping, grumbling, backbiting, malice and fighting, which are meant for the world is now norm of the church. If the church no more walk in peace with one another, how will the world experience peace? When our responsibility, as pacesetters is defeated, the world can’t be what God desired.
Romans 12:17-18
“17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.”
Revenge, paying evil for evil, rewarding good with wickedness has been the way of Christians. Caucus and circles in the house of God, even between men of God, anyone who doesn’t belong to your circles is seen as an enemy. But the way of the Lord us to “live at peace with all men”. Peace precedes Holiness. Without peace holiness is not possible. When you are not at peace with men, holiness can only be faked.
Our responsibility everyday is to be at peace with everyone around us. To desist from paying evil for evil. To fight every spirit that create conflicts between brethren and neighbours. Yes, anyone will take advantage of us but the Holy Spirit will be there to direct us. How responsible are you to your neighbours? Do you have a party you belong to where you destroy others in your church?
“If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.”
May we be responsible in every areas of our lives in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
