TOPIC: LESSONS FROM HANNAH

Memory Verse: Heb. 13:8
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”

Bible Reading: 1 Sam. 1:15-17
15 But Hannah answered and said, “No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk  neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD. 16 Do not consider your maidservant a wicked woman, for out of the abundance of my complaint and  grief I have spoken until now.” 17 Then Eli answered and said, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which  you have asked of Him.”
SOFT ANSWER
Prov.15:1
1. A soft answer turns away wrath,  But a harsh word stirs up anger.
If you were to be in the position of Hannah, how would you have answered Prophet Eli? What would have been your response? Despite the situation Hannah found herself, she never held grudges, bitterness, or gave negative response to the prophet’s comment. She softly gave the correct answer to the insultive question from the prophet.
In your bitterness, how do you handle such situations? Will God be praised from your response? Hannah would have missed it all that day, thinking of her childlessness, the mockery from her step wife and now, a comment about her being a drunkard from a Man of God, but in all, her response was softly with details and she received the Lord’s blessing.
We need to control the way we answer others, no matter our condition, because it might be our final test before our expected manifestation. Soft answers open doors while harsh answers can lock all doors. Be guided.
Have a Great Day ahead.
