TOPIC: LESSONS FROM HANNAH
Memory Verse: Heb. 13:8
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”
Bible Reading: 1 Sam. 1:9-10
“9 So Hannah arose after they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the tabernacle of the LORD. 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD and wept in anguish.”
RUN TO GOD
Hannah knew Elkanah loved her. She did also. She knew he could do anything for her. He has proofed it again and again. But she realises that, this man also has limitations. There are things he can’t do. In our days, in-laws would have sent her packing, tagged her names. Mother in-law would let her know she was the problem not the man, which was right.
She realises the limitation of her husband and ran to the real one who has no limitations, The God of Israel. Just like the widow of the servant of prophet Elisha ran to the Prophet which symbolizes God. She would have seek for solace in a friend, parent or involved in extramarital affair but, she ran to God and she was never disappointed.
When all things seem bad, who do you run to? When your trust in men fail, who do you turn to? The scripture said,
“10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD and wept in anguish.”
Stop running to friends who will advice you wrongly, seek for God’s servant. Cry to God in your closet.
Jere. 33:3, says,
“3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’’
Run to God for help not to me.
Have a Great Day ahead.
