TOPIC: LET’S INTERCEDE
Memory Verse: 1 Tim. 2:1
“1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men.”
Bible Reading: Gen. 25:19-21
19 This is the genealogy of Isaac, Abraham’s son. Abraham begot Isaac. 20 Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah as wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian. 21 Now Isaac pleaded with the LORD for his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived.”
INTERCEDE FOR YOUR SPOUSE
Intercession is one of the ways God do grant request in times of challenges. Interceding for your spouse is like parents praying for their children and it’s even more effective than that because it create special bond between them. Many marriages are full of complains, suspicious and rift all because no one is interceding for the other. Every great marriages are rooted in intercession prayers, make enquiries to clarify your doubt.
Issac went to God (interceded) on behalf of his wife, Rebekah and God harkened to Him and gave them double as a result of this. Rebekah might have prayed and nothing happened, until Issac went to God.
Your complain is not the solution to the infidelity of your spouse. Quarrelling is not the way to settle things in your marriage, present the case of your spouse to God He will handle the situation. Don’t just pray to gain the glory over the marriage but to make peace reign in your home. Pride, lavishing of resources, nagging, insubordination, childlessness, laziness, joblessness, spiritual laziness and many more can all be handled with intercession. Be the praying husband. Be the praying Wife. Let the home move forward through your intercession. Stop reporting to friends and family, go into intensive intercession and see God in action.
Father, give me the Spirit to intercede for my spouse, even when things are good and when they are otherwise, in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
