TOPIC: UNITY AND ITS INGREDIENTS 4: Forgiveness
Memory Verse:
Ps. 133:1.
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!
Bible Reading:
Ephesians 4:32
“32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
The Third Ingredient of Unity is Forgiveness. God demonstrates this by sending Jesus to take the sins of the world away in order to unite us to Himself. Where Unforgiveness reigns pretence governs such relationship. Unforgiveness tears apart everything unity builds. So to sustain unity in any relationship we need to forgive all wrongs.
How do we forgive?
1. Speak to the offender, Math. 5:23. The best way is to let people know what they’ve done wrong. So many time we think it’s intentional but may be a mistake. Call people’s attention to their wrong.
2. Present it wisely. Presentation matters when trying to correct an action. It should be presented with the mind of correction.
3. Be willing to accept your fault and repent, Luke 17:3-4. When your wrong is presented to you, accept and apologize as soon as possible. Trying to prove your right most time deteriorates the situation.
4. Learn to let go, Math 11:25. Even when you can’t meet such person or you know he wouldn’t accept his fault, Jesus said you should forgive him so not to stop your prayers.
I pray, the spirit to forgive rest upon us this morning, whoever has any hurt against you, may you be able to let go of them this morning in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
