TOPIC: HOW HAS BEEN THE YEAR? Do You Need To Forgive Someone?

Memory Verse: Eccl. 7:8
“The end of a thing is better than its  beginning; The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.”

Bible Reading: Math. 18:34-35
34 And his master was angry, and delivered him to the  torturers until he should pay all that was due to him.
35 “So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his  brother his trespasses.”
There can’t be a day without an offence or hurt from people around us. Many we depended on, will disappoint us when we needed them most. They might even take advantage of us by stabbing us behind and such other attitude of men which might make us decide not to forgive or forget their actions. As the year is running out, we need to have a rethink on those who have hurt us, both intentionally and non intentionally. We need to let them go and free them from our heart in order to enjoy God’s forgiveness. To forgive others is not that easy but it’s the best way to enjoy what God has in stock for us.
Our Bible reading today, talks about the servant whom his master forgives of his huge debt and made him go free but he went around to threaten a fellow servant who owe him a little debt and dragging him to be locked up in prison for not paying up his debt. This caught the attention of other servants and reported the issue to the master who sent for him, tortured and locked him up also. Jesus said if we can’t forgive men of their debt our heavenly Father won’t forgive our sins either. So, when we forgive those who hurt and treat us badly we are creating an avenue for our sins to be forgiven also. Those whom you hold grudges against and vowed not to let go of their wrongs, you need to forgive for you to also receive God’s forgiveness. Forgiveness can hold you ransom and deny you your blessings while the other party will be enjoying the Grace of God more than you.
Math. 6:14-15 says,
“14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father  forgive your trespasses.”
As we move towards the new year, it will be better to drop everything that can hold us down from enjoying God’s blessings. Have a thorough rethink and forgive others to enjoy God’s forgiveness. May God help us to let go off other’s hurt in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Good Morning.
