“1. And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;

2. And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.

3. And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.

If there was anything Lot learnt from Abraham it was how to “Try Again”. When he saw the angels he invited them to take the night but they rejected the offer. He pressed the more until they accepted to dwell in his house that night. To try again means to persuade to be of help or get what belongs to you. On before now, I have an attitude, I don’t love to ask for help or even what belongs to me, even when am sure that it’s mine. I realized that I needed to try again and ask for what pertains to me. The scripture said, in Matthew 11:12,

“12. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.”

The violent here is talking about those who persist in the race of the kingdom, who persist in asking God for their portion, who refuse to give up on their desires and right.

Many marriages collapse because the man or the woman couldn’t try again or start again. Many lost their job because they couldn’t persuade their interviewer that they can offer their services well. It’s time to try harder to get what belongs to you. Lot tried harder and the Angels succumbed to him and dwell with him that night. If he gave up he would have been destroyed with Sodom and Gomorrah, but he escaped because He learnt not to quit easily. Beg that spouse again. Put more effort In that work again. Go back to that company and try again. You need to forget the shame and try again. This year don’t let opportunities slip over you, try again, you can win this time around.

This year, 2023, isn’t the same as year 2022, meaning, what doesn’t work last year will work for us this year. Where we have been rejected last year we will be sent for this year. Every losses of last year will be restored back this year in Jesus wonderful name, Amen. This week, am here to encourage you to “TRY AGAIN”, Yes, try those things again as we will all see those who Tried it Again and it later worked for them.

Our Father, Abraham, was called a friend of God. God said how can I destroy Sodom and Gomorrah without informing Abraham. He gave Abraham the detail of His mission and Abraham interceded for the city. He spoke the first time about finding fifty persons who are righteous and God assured Him, because of fifty righteous people the city wont be destroy. Then He tried again about forty-five people, God said no. He kept trying until he got to ten righteous persons and God said, for the sake of Ten righteous persons the city wont be destroy. Truly, ten person were not found in Sodom and Gomorrah but Abraham’s persistency rescued Lot from the destruction of that city because, the scripture says in Genesis 19:29,

“And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.”

To make this year different, we need to try again as Abraham tried and rescue His nephew from the destruction in sodom. How many times have you tried? Two or three times? Try again. How many times have you ask? Ask Him Again for His ears are not deaf to hear us. Try persuading again and you will have a better year ahead.

“25. And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.”

Success is attached to serving God. If you will do anything that success will be involved, you will need to serve God. Serving God attracts alot from God. It includes increase in all we do, the blessings God, preservation, sustainability. It ends devourer over our business and ministry. To serve God is an investment with lasting reward. Serving God makes God service you in return. Nothing that’s yours will He not watch over. 

The blessing of the Lord is attached to His service. No service is a waste while offered to God. He said, “and He shall bless your bread and your water, and take sickness away from you.” If you want to be successful this year, add the service of God to your itinerary. Serving God brings preservation over every endeavours of ours. Dedicate some of your time to the things of God and you will enjoy all around success this year.

“19. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

20. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

22. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23. Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

24. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

The road that leads to success is filled with Divine instructions, Divine guidances and Divine leading. Those who succeeds doesn’t take steps like other, they are guided on what to do. Instructions from God, godly men, spiritual men who has the mind of God at heart. Moses was guided by God and His father-in-law. Jesus’ coming to the world, through Joseph, was as a result of God’s guidance. Joseph was consistently guided through dream prior to the birth of Jesus and the safety of Jesus after His birth. You need to follow someone who knows the way than you do.

Guidance might be through asking the successful questions, walking with those who has achieved what you intend to achieve. It also include asking God for his will concerning those ideas and steps you are to take. Success is achieved when things are done God’s way, His word says, 

“John 15:5, … *_For Without Me Ye Can Do Nothing._*

To be successful this year, you need Divine guidance. Ask Him for His will concerning those endeavours of yours, and you will enjoy success in all you do.

“12. And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:

13. Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh’s cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.”

Every life depends on other lives to live. Thousands of souls survival depends on few lives to live. Let’s take an example, if a Jobless man gets employed through you, His family becomes free from poverty, lack and begging. He will affect his siblings and inlaws, will be able to pay his house rent, pay up those he’s been indebted to, by and large, ten to fifteen persons will be happy because you employed the man and got a good job. That is how it looks like, a cup of rice may be the million Naira someone need from you to live.

Joseph, in the prison was able to affect lives with his gift. He put smile on the butler face despite he being in the prison. Do what God laid in your heart to do for others. It mustn’t be a big and flashy thing but just meet a need for others. Words of encouragement in the place of criticism is a blessing. Prayers and checking on others, is also a way of affecting lives. 

What can you do to affect that fellow around you positively? Just try and touch a life daily and you will be surprise the success you will achieve this year.

“23. A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.”

The easiest way to be successful is to be humble in life. With humility you can have access into the heart of even the most wicked human being on earth. Humility Isn’t stupidity or foolishness but “Let God speaks For Me”. To be humble doesn’t stop you from taking and requesting what belongs to you. Humility makes you teachable, brings honour, brings favour and brings lifting from God. Humility brings safety to what you have and keeps you on a pedestrian of success. Humility makes you keep your achievement to yourself. 

Moses was called the most meekest man on the surface of the earth and this gave Him the privilege to see God face to face. When you are humble God draws you closer to Himself but when you live a proud life, He resist you from coming to Him. Do you want to succeed this year, be humble to learn, be teachable, be correctable and keep your successes to yourself, let God speak and announce you to your world. Dont be controlled by achievement and resources, but put all successes under your control.

“14. For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

15. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

16. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.

We’ve discussed secret of “Change Of Mentality”, and “Start Taking Action”. The third is to be Committed and Consistent” in what we do. “Commitment simply means, being dedicated to a cause no matter how difficult it may be.” Commitment makes you focus on result regardless of the present occurrences. Consistency is the ability to keep doing it till result shows up. What you are committed and consistent with is what brings result. You don’t quit because the result is not showing forth. The more committed and consistent you are, the more knowledgeable you become on that field and the more successful you become.

Three businessmen were given cash to invest with (personal paraphrase of Matthew 25:14-16). Two were committed and consistent with their investment and this made them more successful in their ability. They came with double portion of their interest because they were committed and consistent. Nothing grows and ends in success without these two qualities. Be determine this year to be Committed and consistent, be focus on what you are doing and see the outcome after twelve month, you will be amazed at your accomplishment.

20. AND HE AROSE, AND CAME TO HIS FATHER. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

According to the saying, “Delay is Dangerous”. When you start working on your Mentality, the next thing you need to do is to start taking the necessary actions to success. You don’t need to wait any longer as long as you are sure your idea or leading is right with God. There should be no procrastination, it’s time to act.

The prodigal son, as fondly called, realize his wrong doing. The scriptures said, “He came to his senses” and the next thing he did was to act before any form of distraction steps in. If you will achieve success this year, you need to start taking steps. Many opportunities will be available for those who start early not those who are still enjoying the mood of the seasons. Start strategizing, start making the move, and start making request, that is the secret to make it big in year 2023.

Happy New Year to you all. This year 2023, “We Are Rising To Shine Above Every Darkness in Jesus Mighty Name” , Is. 60:1-3″ 

We will be taking a series on “Secret To Succeed In Year 2023”. Yes, if there must be difference between year 2022 and year 2023, somethings need to be changed. The first of it is “Changing Our Mentality”. You can only achieve what your mental ability has processed. Many failed or achieved little because that’s what their mental ability tells them, “You can’t do more than this”, “You can’t achieve it”, these and more mentality need to be changed. Anything doesn’t goes, it’s what you conclude on, that should go. Always think the other way of that negative thought. Until Jacob changed this mentality of serving Laban, the idea of increase didn’t rest on Him, Gen. 30:30. You need to check yourself and search out that mentality limiting your effort, this new year, do away with them by being positive about everything.

Your Mentality may be competing with others, envying others, imitating others, unnecessary spending and inferiority. It’s time to change that mentality to be productive this year. 

Our Bible reading says we should set our mind on, “… whatsoever things are TRUE, whatsoever things are HONEST, whatsoever things are JUST, whatsoever things are PURE, whatsoever things are LOVELY, whatsoever things are of GOOD REPORT; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”, Thinking on such thing is the first step to success in year 2023. Your Mentality should focus on positivity if you want to succeed this year. Change your Mentality.

“18. Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

19. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

Happy last day of the month and year to us all. We bless God for granting us the privilege to see the last day of the year, 2022. It has been God all the way, we return all Glory to Him for the benefits he lavished on us all.

As we cross over to the new year, I think it’s good to ask God for a different year ahead. We need to seek for His help ahead year 2023. We need to put behind us every occurrences of the year 2022, and focus on year 2023. According to our Bible reading today, the Lord said, “we should put aside every good and bad experiences of this year and prepare for New Things that is about to be done in our lives. We need to delete every past that can stand against our future. We need to let go of those achievement so we can beat those records come Year 2023. Those obstacles in year 2022 need to be thrown aside as we cross into a new year. Every tools in the hand of the devil used against us this year need to be identify and tackled rightly in order to make year 2023 far better than year 2022. How can this be possible? We need to ask God for “New Things”; New direction, New dream, New leading, New ideas that will differentiate year 2023 from year 2022. He has promised new things in the coming year, and every steps should also be for new things to be achieved.

Take time to discover those thing that are old and odd in year 2022 and needs replacement for a better year in your life, that habit, friends, places you go that needs to change for a better year.

Ask God to show you new task for the new year, what He wants you to work on, pray for fresh insight and revelation for year 2023 because He is ready to give us a new and different beginning. Ask Him for direction.
