TOPIC: OUR GOD FORGIVES AND FORGETS: ACCEPT YOUR MISTAKES
Memory Verse: Ps. 30:5
“5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.”
Bible Reading: Exo. 2:11-12
“11 Now it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren and looked at their burdens. And he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren.
12 So he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.”
Numb. 12:1
“1 Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married; for he had married an Ethiopian woman.”
Numb. 20:9-12
“9 So Moses took the rod from before the LORD as He commanded him.
10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock; and he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?”
11 Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank.
12 Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”
Moses is one of the greatest prophet of God. He walked, worked and spoke with God face to face. He was the most troubled among all the prophet of God. He was troubled by his siblings and the entire congregation who left Egypt. He faced a lot of insult and reproach from the children of Israelite but still he was able to stand tall.
This was not without errors, he sinned against God Almighty three different times. He killed an Egyptian, he married from the rejected nation and also disobeyed God’s instruction. But in all, God forgave and forgot all his mistakes because of whom God is, the merciful God.
Jude 1:9
“9 Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
Despite all his errors, God forgave him and sent His Archangel to carry Moses’s body, denying all accusations against Him. When you accept your fault and refuse to prove your innocency there’s forgiveness and forgetfulness of your sins, but when you keep proving your right to God, your sins will remain before God and judgement stands. I pray, that the spirit to admit, when we err from God’s commandments, will rest upon us all in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
