TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON. (Part 2) 6: Your Reward Is On The Way

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12
“12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But it’s end is the way of death.”

Bible Reading: Luke 15:31-32
“31 “And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.
32 It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.’ ”
Yesterday, we saw how committed servant felt when an uncommitted fellow (the Prodigal Son) was welcomed with the fatted calf. He made his anger known. He felt he wasn’t appreciated with all his commitment since the prodigal son left with his Inheritance. Many believed he refuse to ask his father what he deserve and that was why he was complaining, but I want to draw our attention to what the father said,
“31 “And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.”
“Son, You are always with me” simply means, “You have been serving me”, I recognise your services, so, therefore, “All I have is yours”, you still own all I have as a reward of your service.
What l like us to know is that, service can’t go unrewarded,
Rev. 22:12, says,
“And behold, I am coming quickly, and MY REWARD IS WITH ME, TO GIVE TO EVERY ONE  ACCORDING TO HIS WORK.”
“His Work” here stands for “His Service”: Your Service, My service, Our service. Mind you, the prodigal son has no service yet, he was only welcomed back. With the experience he has acquired, he also will resume to full time service just as His elder brother.
Are you discouraged that your services are not appreciated or recognised? Remember, God is the rewarder and not the man/woman you are serving. He will pay you your reward in due time. Don’t be discourage. Don’t relent. Keep serving, your reward is on the way. I pray for someone going through this devotional today, that the drop in your zeal for God, will be restored back in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Good Morning.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON. (Part 2) 5: Not Partiality

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12
“12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But it’s end is the way of death.”

Bible Reading: Luke 15:25-27
“25 “Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard  music and dancing.
26 So he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant.
27 And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.’
This lesson today is one of the most important lesson to note. Most often, this has been the occurrences in churches and even in our homes. The father welcomed the prodigal son with warmth embrace, killed the fastest calf for him, which was meant to be part of the inheritance of the elder brother. He came in and was angry and refuses to join the celebration.
In Christiandom, New converts enjoys the grace of been favoured, attended to and been helped while many regular members always feel neglected. They see this as partiality and some become discourage in serving God to the extent of exiting the department, it shouldn’t be so. When God calls in new souls, they need to be cared for and show love in other to keep them in the vineyard. When the father cared for the prodigal son, it wasn’t with hatred to the elder son but with love for the lost soul. Don’t react to the love shown to those who repent of their ways, don’t be envious of them, join in showing them the love of God. You are not hated, you are a saved vessel already, be glad for that lost brother of yours, He/she was lost but now found. Welcome them with warmth embrace as God welcome them.
Good Morning.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON. (Part 2) 4: Heaven Rejoices

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12
“12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But it’s end is the way of death.”

Bible Reading: Luke 15:22-24.
“22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was  dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.”
There is Joy over every repentant soul who returned to God genuinely regardless of his/her past ways of life.
Luke 15:7, says,
“7 I say to you that  likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.”
The best way to create joy in heaven is by saving a soul into God’s kingdom or a sinner renouncing his/her old ways. The father wasn’t concerned about the resources lost, the time wasted, or his suffering, He was happy that his lost son; the rebelled child was back, because all through, his mind was with him, seeking for his return. Likewise, this is how God feels about you if you are still wandering without Christ in your life. If you are that child that makes his/her parent bitter always, they are waiting for your repentance. If you’ve been frustrating your spouse in marriage; they long for your return. Are you that spouse who is not in support of the ministry of your partner? Your repentant heart is what that minister need. God is reaching out to you wherever you are today, He wants the Heavens to rejoice for your home coming, delay may be dangerous. Make Heavens happy and the angels jubilate for your return to your rightful place. I pray the Holy Spirit will convince you today, in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON. (Part 2) 3: Humble Yourself Before God

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12
“12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But it’s end is the way of death.”

Bible Reading: Luke 15:21
21 And the son said to  him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
Genuine repentance comes with soberness. Ability to see your wrong, accept it and apologize is the prove of repentance.
2 Chronic. 7:14, says,
“14 if My people who are called by My  name will humble themselves, …”
Being people of God doesn’t neglect pride. We might be called the “people of God” and still live arrogantly to God and men. The prodigal son became a humble child to his father, he apologized for his past mistakes, and wasn’t seeking for a place as a son but as a slave in the empire of His Father. This humility and changed of heart proved that, he has learnt his lessons and become a different person. It’s not returning home alone but being sober and willing to face the consequences of your past sins. Going back to those you’ve wrong not to seek for help this time around but to seek forgiveness.
Luke 18:10-14
10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The  Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ 13 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other;  for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Be the tax collector not the Pharisee. Be humble before God.
Good Morning.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON. (Part 2) 2: Go Back Home.

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12
“12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But it’s end is the way of death.”

Bible Reading: Luke 15:20
“20 “… But when he was still a great way off, his father saw  him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.”
When God lay it in your heart to take a step, He already had an arrangement for you before your arriver. God wouldn’t lead you to shame, for He said, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jere. 29:11.
God had prepared the heart of the father for the arrival of His son. The fact is, The heart of the father had never forsaken the prodigal son despite His attitude. No matter how wicked a father may be, he wouldn’t forget his precious son come what may. The prodigal son was welcomed back home with an open hand, despite he coming back empty.
I don’t know who you are, God is speaking to someone this moment. It’s time to go back home, time to trace your steps home. He is waiting for you. Your home might be the presence of God, your marriage (spouse), your parent, your boss or your siblings, even your children. God is not that wicked to hold unto your past. He is merciful, ready to welcome you back home. Likewise, that person has let you go off his/her heart, go back and seek redress with that person. It’s time to Go Back Home.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON. (Part 2) 1: Taking Action.

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12
“12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But it’s end is the way of death.”

Bible Reading: Luke 15:20
“20 “And he arose and came to his father. …”
The prodigal son came to his senses, realising His wrong steps. He thought of what to do and how to go about, then took the first right step of his life, “And he arose and came to his father”. There are many ideas, good step and visions in the heart of men, waiting for the right step to be taken. Life is not about discovering oneself but taking action in that direction. The Lord has laid in many hearts to do some things but the acting spirit is lacking. Many would have been made known to their generations but lack of taking action has stagnated them.
God can’t run your vision for you. He can only reveal to you, yours is to act on it, take the needed step and run the vision. You need to get information and use it, then the new you emerges according to the plans of God. Take a bold step, act on that information and transform to the purpose of God for your life. I challenge you today, take the step and work it out, God is waiting for you at the end. Work with the idea you have. God bless you.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON. (Part 1)

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12
“12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But it’s end is the way of death.”
Day 1
WRONG REQUEST
Text: Luke 15:12
Like the younger son, many Christians have been asking God for wants instead of needs. Life is in stages and we are all in sizes, be patience in your request. Seek for God’s will for your life not your own will alone. Make the right request from God and men.
http://mymobiledailydevotional.blogspot.com/2022/01/mobile-daily-devotional-with-pst_51.html
Day 2
WRONG DECISION
Text: Luke 15:13
Many Christians are acting like the prodigal son. When God grant their heart desires, they turn their back on God. Watch your decisions after the blessing of God over your life. Don’t be like the prodigal son who made wrong decision to leave his father after requesting for his inheritance wrongly. You still need God in all you do. Seek God and His will.

Day 3
RESOURCES WASTER
Luke 15:13
How are you living your life? Are you a waster of resources?  Do you only care about “Now Mentality” or “Tomorrow Mentality”?  When you waste God’s resources, it stops growing. You compete with the highly placed, celebrities and wise spenders. Be wise with what you have. Don’t be a waster, use those resources wisely.

Day 4
THERE WILL ALWAYS BE FAMINE
Text: Luke 15:14
Nothing in life is constant. Nothing is permanent and consistent. Everyone on earth will experience the Ups and Downs of life. As we have morning and night. Sow seeds into lives and God’s service. Your harvest is what will sustain you in famine time.

Day 5,
SELF AFFLICTION
Text: Luke 15:15-16
How have you inflicted yourself with wildlife living? Stop afflicting wounds on yourself, watch your attitude and live right always.
http://mymobiledailydevotional.blogspot.com/2022/01/mobile-daily-devotional-with-pst_19.html
Day 6
SELF DISCOVERY
Text: Luke 15:17-19
Self Discovery is about being truthful to yourself.Until you think rightly and truthfully, transformation is inevitable. To change your situation you have to be truthful to yourself.
http://mymobiledailydevotional.blogspot.com/2022/01/mobile-daily-devotional-with-pst_20.html
I pray with you today, your life shall be transform to what God has ordained you to be, may God help us in righting our wrong decisions.Right thinking, right decision from today on In Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON 6: Self Discovery

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12.
“12 There is a way  that seems right to a man, But it’s end is the way of death.”

Bible Reading: Luke 15:17-19
“17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread  enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,
19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”
What a good day for the prodigal son. A day that would have come earlier when he was wealthy and young. According to a Yoruba saying, “Without suffering you can’t be wise”. Until you go through some hard time in life, you might not realise the real you. After lavishing all his wealth, he came back to his senses. He remembered how the slaves in his father’s empire do enjoy better things than how he was then. He discovered he is not fit for where he is, he’s been wrongly placed. This is the beginning of transformation.
We are where we are because we’ve not realize the real person we are meant to be. We seems to be enjoying where we are because we are not aware of where we are meant to be. Until we realise who we are, where we are meant to be and what we are called to do, we will always accept everything that comes our way. All we need do is to think of how we’ve been living our lives and ask God to make known who we are meant to be. When you discover something is wrong with the way you are, then your transformation is about to start. Are you at the right place? Are you fulfilling destiny? Is anyone following or
admiring your way of life? Are you a motivation to someone or a discouragement? As this word come to you today, I decree and declare, may you discover your placement in life in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Good Morning.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON 5: Self Affliction

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12.
“12 There is a way  that seems right to a man, But it’s end is the way of death.”

Bible Reading: Luke 15:14
“15 Then he went and joined himself to a  citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the  swine ate, and no one gave him anything.”
The prodigal son squandered his wealth. He lavished his inheritance in a far country without a mentor and experience, and he suffered for it. He inflicted himself with suffering. He became a slave in a far country where he was once honoured. I pray for someone today, may you not be the cause of your affliction in Jesus Mighty name, Amen. There at home was his brother, who was seen as a fool, working day and night, having no room for pleasure, but still had his inheritance untouched while he who taught he’s wise is now a slave to people he could feed some times ago.
Many Christians has fallen victim of affliction. They’ve afflicted themselves with some curses in the name of enjoyment, wealth and position in the name of being opportune to help people and they couldn’t deliver. The way we treat others, how we talk arrogantly, (even some men of God are not left out). Everything we do today is either afflicting us or blessing us. Many are placed where they do not belong all because of the way they treated others in time past. What is that ego controlling you? What do you have that makes you feel above the heavens? Remember, everything that goes up can comes down. Stop using your today against your tomorrow. Use every opportunity well in order to build a good tomorrow. A rich man today can still become the poor man tomorrow and can become more richer, don’t be a victim rather a victor. God bless you all.
Good Morning.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON 4: There Will Always Be Famine Time

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12.
“12 There is a way  that seems right to a man, But it’s end is the way of death.”

Bible Reading: Luke 15:14
“14 But when he had spent all, there arose  a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want.”
When the prodigal son had abundance he forgot about famine. When he left his father’s empire, he thought the wealth will remain for life. He felt he will be richer than his father in the next few years. He never learnt the strategy to make and sustain wealth until he learnt it in a hard way, I pray with someone today, may you not learn in a hard way in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
I want everyone to know this, since there is day and night, there’s raining season and dry season, there is mountain and there is valley, there will also be season of abundance and famine, no one can escape these two seasons. If you have in abundance today, prepare ahead for the days of famine. If you are highly place today, prepare ahead for a low or no placement. If you are nobody today, prepare to be lifted soon. If you are single today prepare to be married soon. Always remember you will never remain in that position for life. Prepare ahead of where you are. The prodigal son didn’t prepare for famine and he believed things will remain the same. Take this lesson today,  prepare for the next season no matter the season you are now. God bless you.
Good Morning.
