Week 8, Day 5:
Thursday, 23rd February, 2023.

TOPIC: BLESSINGS AND CURSE, TRACEABLE TO CHARACTER 5: Ingratitude Character

MEMORY VERSE:
3 John 2.
2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

BIBLE READING:
Luke 17:11-19
11 Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off.
13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
14 So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.
17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?
18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”
19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well”
“Thank you sir” “Thanks for your gift”. “God bless you for the help ma”
This simple but powerful statement has shattered many Christian’s destiny. Inability to show gratitude for love and good gesture, has brought many to a position of stand still in life. Even in the household of God, many abuse this privileges and this character has stopped others, even God, from releasing blessing on them.
Ten lepers met our Lord Jesus and asked for mercy to be healed. He gave them an instructions to carry out as their healing process. The process worked out, and they were healed. Nine leper had this ingratitude character while just one of them had a grateful heart. He returned to show gratitude to Jesus. Jesus was surprised that he was a Samaritan, a stranger, not a Jew, meaning, not a believer but an unbeliever.
A heart of gratitude is a character that opens doors of blessing, while ingratitude closes the door. Heart of gratitude says, “I’m still available for more”, ingratitude says, “I can leave without your help”. Many repay gratefulness with complains and grumbling like the Israelite did. They never saw help and assistance as something to be grateful for, and this made God stop helping such. Gratitude is an act of appreciating the little received in order to welcome the greater. It’s time to have a rethink. Stop locking doors against yourself. Be grateful to God and men.
Good Morning And God Bless You.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

Week 8, Day 4:
Wednesday, 22nd February, 2023.

TOPIC: BLESSINGS AND CURSE, TRACEABLE TO CHARACTER 4: Living In Lies

MEMORY VERSE:
3 John 2.
2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

BIBLE READING:
Acts 5:1-3
1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession.
2 And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?”
80% of things done in the world today are based on lies. Lie is a very dangerous character that everyone find refuge in, at will. Many has modernize lie and give it the name “wisdom” but, lie still remain lie no matter what we call it and God is not happy with it. It’s one of the most destructive character in human race because it’s easy to fall victim of it.
From our Bible reading today, lie killed a family, father and mother, all because, they wanted to please God, they met their death. I keep saying
this, it would have been better to tell Apostle Peter, “we sold our land #500,000 and kept #200,000 from the proceed, and this is what we have to give to the Lord”, they would have been counted as righteous people in the Bible today. It’s time to know that God knows all things and can defend us instead of lying to one another.
The Book of John 8:44, says, “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”
Ananias and Sapphira didn’t just lied that day, it has been their way of life. They’ve been used to it and felt it’s okay. Many of us have been claiming Christianity, are we sure we are not of the devil because of this character; Lie? They had no privilege to seek for God’s forgiveness before their death, but we have this morning. can we gently pray for God’s forgiveness for our short comings and desist from repeating it often and often? It’s easy to speak lies in order to protect ones image but speaking the truth won’t reduce us either, it will enhance our relationship with God. Avoid this character as much as you can.
Good Morning And God Bless You.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

Week 8, Day 3:
Tuesday, 21st February, 2023.

TOPIC: BLESSINGS AND CURSE, TRACEABLE TO CHARACTER 3: Obedient Is A Character

MEMORY VERSE:
3 John 2.
2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

BIBLE READING:
Gen. 26:1-2, 6, & 12-13
1 There was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines, in Gerar.
2. And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:
6.So Isaac dwelt in Gerar.
12. Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him.
13. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous;”
Your character is more important than your prayers. God watches your character and attitude before releasing your request. Disobeying God’s voice; instructions, commands is a character with a reward.
God doesn’t bless people with bad character especially disobedience. They may seems blessed but it’s for a while and not from God. God told Isaac to stay in Gerar, during famine. Mean while, He has a character of obedience learnt from his Father, Daddy Abraham. So, he obeyed God. Have you been in that situation where you began to regret your disobedience? When you felt “and I was told not to take that step”, it’s a character you need to work on.
This character of obedience by Isaac made him a wealthy man beyond expectations;
12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him. 13 The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous;
The reasons for stagnation in life might be as a result of disobedience to some instruction. Watch your character, it determines your placement in life.
Good Morning And God Bless You.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

MEMORY VERSE:
3 John 2.
2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

BIBLE READING:
3 John 1:9-11
9 I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, does not receive us.
10 Therefore, if I come, I will call to mind his deeds which he does, prating against us with malicious words. And not content with that, he himself does not receive the brethren, and forbids those who wish to, putting them out of the church.
11 Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God.
Yesterday, we studied the life of Gaius, How his character brought him God’s blessings. Today, let’s study another personality in the same chapter with different character. Diotrephes was also a minister over the church. His character speak for him when ministers were sent to the church. Apostle John said, he didn’t receive them, never assisted them, neither did he allowed those who were willing to be of help to the Evangelist. Apostle John promised to rebuke him when he is present,
“10 Therefore, if I come, i will call to mind his deeds which he does, …”
Diotrephes, doesn’t deserve the prayer in 3rd John verse 2, because, it’s meant for those with Good character. What does your character deserve, blessings or rebuke? Remember, Apostle John got the information from others. People will tell others about your character, what will they say about you? What will your character attract, Blessings or Curse? Your Character dictate your benefits.
Good Morning And God Bless You.

MEMORY VERSE:
3 John 2.
2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

BIBLE READING:
3 John 1:1-8
1 The Elder, To the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth:
2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
3 For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth.
4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
5 Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren and for strangers,
6 who have borne witness of your love before the church. If you send them forward on their journey in a manner worthy of God, you will do well,
7. because they went forth for His name’s sake, taking nothing from the Gentiles.
8 We therefore ought to receive such, that we may become fellow workers for the truth.
Believers love this portion of the Bible so much but never made a study of the verses before and after it. Gaius, An Elder in the vine yard of God, received this blessings from Apostle John the beloved. It wasn’t a verse for everyone as we will discover during this study.
John the Beloved, heard the report of Gaius. How he welcome strangers, hosted them, fed them and met all their needs during their stay with him. Those ministers went back to John the Beloved, with positive result, and this report made him pronounce this blessings on Gaius as follow;
2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
What will your parents, ministers, colleague say about you? Will they pray for you this way? What is your character saying about you? Can someone introduce you with your character?
When next you quote this verse, always remember that, it’s a product of character not just a prayer, do you deserve the prayers according to your character?
Good Morning And God Bless You.

“2. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

BIBLE READING:
Genesis 40:6-7.

7. And he asked Pharaoh’s officers that were with him in the ward of his lord’s house, saying, Wherefore look ye so sadly to day?”

Thank you.
As we end the teaching on “Waiting Time Not Wasted Time”, today our Sub-Topic says, Waiting period is a time to Care For Others, Yes, we always have something to offer no matter our low estate. There’s room for gifts, talent, advice, little help, prayers and encouraging words. God won’t demand more than we have. He placed you in that situation, to solve someone’s problem before you get your freedom. There’s something in you that no one else’s possesses to care for someone around you presently. Let’s put it this way, waiting period is a time to sow your seeds.
Joseph would have missed it all in life if he never cared for the King’s Cup Bearer. He showed care to two people and one led to his freedom. Abraham saw three angels not knowing the Lord was present, He cared for them all, even without a child of His own and this earned him a specific time for isaac. The shunnamite woman showed care for Elisha and she ended up having a child. That period is the season to care for others not just to tell them what you are going through. You have their solutions with you, care for them and your freedom will manifest.
Good Morning And God Bless You.

James 1:2-4.
“2. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

BIBLE READING:
Philippians 4:11-13.
11. Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
12. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Waiting Period is a tool to shaping us to what God intended us to be. It prepares us to fit into God’s plans for our lives where we’ll be a vessel for His glory. Discipline is a product of Waiting Period. Being discipline in words, acts, time, resources, money, with people and God. To be discipline takes time and energy and that’s why God allow us to go through waiting period.
Apostle Paul said, ‘I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me’ yes through Christ but via discipline during tough times, in lack and in abundance. The discipline of Joseph in the prison helped him manage the seven years of plenty and seven years of famine. You don’t buy everything you see because you have the means, you go for what you need and useful, discipline. You’re not to be everywhere, you’re only to be present where you’re needed and valued. Discipline will make you do the right thing at the right time and right place. It helps you to fast, pray, study God’s word without affecting your daily activities. Yes, discipline means elasticity, being stretch beyond your boundaries. Waiting Period brings this out in you. Learn to be discipline.
Good Morning And God Bless You.

James 1:2-4.
“2. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

BIBLE READING:
James 1:3-4.
3. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Remember, waiting period is that season when things takes another turn in one’s life. When one can’t explain the reason for change of situations and has no idea of when things will change. What that period is meant to establish in us is Patience. Waiting period comes to Teach us Patience. If you are a student, aside the strike issues, you know how many years your program will take if you are ready but that’s not the situation about waiting period. Waiting period last till when the virtue called patience has been developed.
Being patience for God in that situation enhances change of situations. Mind you, being patience is different from being idle. You are active with what you’re doing and trusting God for expected changes. After two good years of interpreting the cup bearer’s dream Joseph was rememered. God was still telling Joseph to be more patient till His time comes. Altogether, He waited for thirteen years before things turn around. When he saw his siblings the patience was in place. He was able to control himself till he got all the details needed about his father and brother, Benjamin. Without patience, vengeance will always be the focus. Until the virtue of patience is develop, waiting period may be longer than expected. Be patience with God, yourself and with others to end your waiting period. Learn to be patience in that situation.
Good Morning And God Bless You.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

MEMORY VERSE:
James 1:2-4.
“2. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

BIBLE READING:
Genesis 39:7-9.
“7. And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.
8. But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;
9. There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
We’ve been studying reasons for waiting. We’ve been made to know that waiting period isn’t a wasted time, neither was it useless but a season of Strength Renewal, Learning period and Preparation Season. Today we’re studying another reason for waiting which is Temptations’ season or Test season. Yes, this season is when you are being temptated in different ways to know if you can stand and overcome any forms of lust. Season where your faithfulness, trust, loyalty and faith will be tempted. When your temper will be tried, when you’ll be tempted with those things you desire but not capable of earning, will you overcome? Will you pass the test?
Joseph was tempted by his Boss’s wife to lay with him but passed the test by rejecting temptation. Although, It landed him in the prison but he never failed the test. God uses those rigorousity to know who we’ll become when we’re rightly position. It’s a pity that many failed the test and couldn’t move on to their destined place in life. I pray with you this morning, may will not fail the test in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Beware, you’re in the season of temptation don’t be caught on aware.
Good Morning And God Bless You.

TOPIC: WAITING TIME NOT A WASTED TIME 3: Preparation Season

MEMORY VERSE:
James 1:2-4.
“2. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

BIBLE READING:
Genesis 39:3-4.
“3. And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.
4. And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.”
Waiting time shows you the purpose of God for your life in spite of the situation you are. When you are waiting or going through those difficult time, they are preparation time. As a student seats for examination that’s how God is examining us. He will show us where He is taking us to, in disguise all he wanted from us is how we will handle the situations when we get there. When potiphar bought Joseph as a slave, he never intended to put him in charge of his house, he was to be used as a slave but God knew the reasons why he brought him there so, he made potiphar danced to His own tune by putting him in charge and see how he will handle it.
If we can be sensitive we will see where God is taking us to in disguise notwithstanding what we are going through. Joseph was a slave but a high rank slave over other slaves, he was a commander even though a foreigner. All these was a way of God preparing him on how to handle situations when he gets to the place of God’s purpose. Even in the prison, he was still put in-charge above all his contemporaries. You are under the construction of God in that waiting period. How you handle situations determines when you are graduating from that stage to another stage. Do you oppress people with that little post still in the prison? Do you look down on people with that little in your hands? To graduate from that level and reach your next destination it’s in your hands. Allow God to have his way in you.
Good Morning And God Bless You.
