TOPIC: GOD HONOUR SACRIFICES: Abel’s Sacrifice (6)

MEMORY VERSE:
Psalms 4:5
“5. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.”

BiBLE READING:
Genesis 4:3-4.
“3. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
4. And Abel, he also brought of the Firstlings Of His Flock And Of The Fat Thereof. And The Lord Had Respect Unto Abel And To His Offering:”
Beloved of God, I welcome you to Today’s devotional with the topic, Abel’s Sacrifice. We are familiar with the first Sacrifice made in the Bible by Abel and Cain, but our focus today will be on Abel’s Sacrifice. Abel’s sacrifice was respected and received by God, which resulted in God speaking for him even after his death. When we present our best sacrifice to God it gives God a voice on our behalf. God is always willing to speak to and for his children but He needs our sacrifice to do this. Most times we plead to God often and often to speak on our behalf but we never offered him any sacrifice. Hannah needed a child, she made a sacrifice ahead of the child called vow. God smelt the sacrifice and sent her request. Your Sacrifice has a voice If you will do it wholeheartedly. You don’t need to be cajoled
to make sacrifices, you just have to see it as a duty and determine to give it.
Abel’s sacrifice triggered God’s voice before and after his death. For God to speak for I and you our genuine sacrifice should be smelled by Him. Hope you’ve identify what to give as sacrifices? Search well and make the sacrifice.
Good Day and God bless you.

Thursday, 5th October 2023.

TOPIC: GOD HONOUR SACRIFICES: Examples of Sacrifices – King of Moab (5).

MEMORY VERSE:
Psalms 4:5
“5. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.”

BiBLE READING:
2 Kings 3:26-27.
“26. And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not.
27. Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.
Today, we shall be considering how powerful sacrifice can be. We have studied sacrifice done by God requested by God, and presented to God. We shall be looking into another side of sacrifice today, although it looks negative but I want us to see how God respects sacrifice.
Our reading today talked about the king of Moab whom the army of Israel went in battle with. God gave His word, through Elisha, that Moab will be destroyed by king of Israel, King of Judah and king of Edom and the war came to be according to the word of God. When the king of Moab saw that the battle was against him, he made a severe sacrifice. He killed his heir to the throne as a sacrifice, and the scripture said, “And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.” the three kings experienced confusion at this point (despite being with God). God saw the sacrifice and stopped the words of His mouth. This is how powerful Sacrifice can be even from God’s enemy. God honours every Sacrifice which involves deep commitment (involving blood). When you sacrifice to God, is it a deep Sacrifice? Will it move God? Check your sacrifice next time.
Good Day and God bless you.

TOPIC: GOD HONOUR SACRIFICES: Examples of Sacrifices – Abraham (4).

MEMORY VERSE:
Psalms 4:5
“5. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.”

BiBLE READING:
Genesis 22:9-10.
“9. And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
10. And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
Beloved of God, we have been discussing about the examples of Sacrifice and we mentioned two greatest examples of Sacrifice which are God and Jesus. The third greatest Sacrifice is Abraham, giving His only son, Isaac, as a Sacrifice without questioning God about it. Abraham experienced delay in child birth for twenty-five years even after God called Him. He had Ismail but God said that was human effort until God gave Him Isaac at the age of 100 years. Then, God came calling, Give me your Joy, the only thing that makes you a father, that Son you loved. Hunnnn, how far can we go with such sacrifice? Remember, verse 1, the scripture said,
“1. And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.”
Genesis 22:1.
Sacrifice is a test to know where our trust lays. Are we willing to give our Isaac as Sacrifice? Remember, Isaac was the only son visible to Him but He gave it to God without the knowledge of His mother. Sacrifice is releasing to God what seems best to you. Can you give yours out? Can we go that far? What is God requesting as Sacrifice from you? Release it and become great in life.
Good Day and God bless you.

MEMORY VERSE:
Psalms 4:5
“5. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.”

BiBLE READING:
Philippians 2:5-8.
“5. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6. Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7. But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8. And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
Welcome to today’s Devotional. We consider the second example of greatest Sacrifice which is Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour. We need no explanation about He being God, and how He decided to be the sacrificer lamb, but it’s a matter of choose and obedient to the Father to give up all He is to become a saviour of the world. The scripture said, “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:” He was obedient to God to give His life for mankind.
Prove of this Sacrifice is found in the book of Matthew 26:39,
“39. And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.”
The sacrifice wasn’t that easy, He cried to God to change the time but later surrendered to God’s will. Knowing you are dying for a course and still moving on, it’s a sacrifice. When you are sacrificing it won’t be easy but you just have to do it. Jesus did it and God was pleased with it. Here we are, called the sons and daughter of God all because of Jesus Sacrifices. Brethren, your Sacrifice means a lot to other souls. What is that sacrifice we need to pay?
Good Day and God bless you.

BiBLE READING:
John 3:16-17.
’16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
I welcome you to the continuation of our Topic, Sacrifice. We’ve all discussed about what Sacrifice is, we shall be seeinng some examples of Sacrifice and we are starting with God Almighty. The mighty God made the first Sacrifice in order to save the whole world from destruction of sin. As we all learnt yesterday that sacrifice involves releasing something special in other to gain back more valuable things. God gave His only Son, Jesus, to the world. He was killed and buried all because God want to bring us back to Himself. Jesus left His throne in Heaven, came to the world to become a sacrificial lamb and today, we are all part of the product of the sacrifice.
Our God is sacrificial and He wants us to follow suit, to sacrifice for His Glory, to let go off little things in other to get bigger and greater things but are we ready to do that? Can we follow His footstep in this area? Remember, Sacrifice entails feelings on both side, the giver and the receiver. What do you need to sacrifice? Which area do you think you need to let go so God can step in. God is the first and greatest giver of Sacrifice and we need to emulate Him as His children

BiBLE READING:
Psalms 116:17
I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.
Beloved of God, I welcome you to this New Month of October, our month of Sacrifice. This month our Sacrifices shall yield harvest and produce bountiful fruits by the virtue of being accepted by God.
We kick off with our teachings this week with the first sub-topic, What is Sacrifice? What is it all about? May I let you know that sacrifice is not all about money or resources, but an act of surrendering one’s self or possession as an offering to a deity or for a cause. An act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else regarded as more important and worthy. It’s also an act of foregoing, renouncing, giving up, forfeiting, surrendering ones belongings or right for a specific reason. To sacrifice is beyond the giving of something but the feelings accompany the releasing of one’s right, possession or freedom.
Sacrifice is a two edged sword, there’s a feeling on the part of the giver and a feeling on the part of the receiver. When these two feelings is accomplished, sacrifice is meant to have taken place. May I let you know, sacrifice is not what is seen when an exchange is done but what is unseen. With these little definition, may I ask if you have been sacrificial enough? How sacrificial are you? Can you recognize the sacrifices of others to you? Think on these definition as we continue tomorrow. Your Sacrifice this month will be productive in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Good Day and God bless you.

TOPIC: PAUL’S WORD TO BELIEVERS. Openness (7)

MEMORY VERSE:
2 Corinthians 13:12.
“12. Greet one another with an holy kiss.”

BiBLE READING:
1 Peter 2:1.
“1. Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings.
I welcome you to the last day of September and the conclusion of our study on the words of Apostle Paul to all believers. We shall be focusing on the word, “Openness, Truthfulness, and a Pure Heart, free of deceit among believers.” From our text, Apostle said, “Greet one another with a holy Kiss” He was only saying we should restrict malice and strive from ourselves. We should live in oneness, to be open to one another. “Holy Kiss” is very scarce among believers, as many have hatred for someone and still pretending to be a friend, No, this is what Apostle Paul was saying. Truthfulness with one another, we should be open to say what’s in our mind, not pretend all is well when we are really hurts by someone’s attitude.

Speak the truth to others, avoid hypocrites, malice and wickedness to believers and unbelievers. Let your yes be yes and your no be no. Speak the truth to one another in love and resist attitude that will cause a break in your fellowship with God the Father. Greet one another in truth without any bias. God can’t work when openness is lacking among us. As we end this teachings today, let’s search ourselves and do the needful in order to please the Lord and our Saviour.
Good Day and God bless you.

TOPIC: PAUL’S WORD TO BELIEVERS. God’s Presence Is Guaranteed (6)

MEMORY VERSE:
2 Corinthians 13:11
11 Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.

BIBLE READING:
Philippians 4:6-7
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Beloved of God, it’s another weekend today as we continue our studying of Paul’s words to the Corinthians. Today, we focus on enjoying “God’s Love and Peace”. This is an attribute of God which He gladly releases on those who are His. This attribute of God can only be enjoyed by God giving us. How do we partake of it? Apostle Paul was simply saying, if you will live by these things, – Being Joyful, Grow to Maturity, Encouraging one another, Living in Harmony and being Peaceful with others is the guarantee of God’s Love and Peace. We can’t have access to God’s love and peace when we lack those life style we’ve studied about.
When you live to please the Lord in those ways, you will pray and God will grant your request, then, will the peace of God that supercede all understanding be ours that’s when we will know the love of God and express it to others. We have responsibility to take in order to receive the Love and Peace of God, those are the responsibility. This is why many Christians aren’t experiencing God’s love and peace because what it entails has not been done. Now, we all know and have heard it, can we activate the Love and Peace of God? Can we take on the responsibility to partake of God’s Love and Peace? May God gives the grace to walk in His will to fulfilment in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Good Day and God bless you.

TOPIC: PAUL’S WORD TO BELIEVERS. Live In Peace (5)

MEMORY VERSE:
2 Corinthians 13:11
11 Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.

BIBLE READING:
Romans 12:17-18
“17. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18. If It Be Possible, As Much As Lieth In You, Live Peaceably With All Men.”
Our fifth Word from Apostle Paul is the word, “Living In Peace” with one another. Can we really live in peace with each other? Even in Christiandom, is it possible to be at peace with one another? Let’s go back to our topic yesterday, Living in Harmony. Without harmony there can’t be peace. Peace is, accepting others as they are. Peace Isn’t the absence of challenges and differences but knowing people for their habit and accepting them. Let’s take this instance, an insane person going on the street is at peace with everyone. Everyone knows he/she is insane even, if they misbehave nobody interferes, that is what Peace means. When an insane person comes closer to you, you try as much as possible to avoid any clash with them all in the name of peace, that’s what living in peace means, accepting others with their fault, adding little correction and still work with them.
Apostles Paul said, “try your best to live at peace with all men”, not because there’s no offence but all you want is for peace to reign. All marriages you admire from afar are not that perfect or sweet without living in peace. Staying with an unbeliever entails Peace without fear. Children fight for a moment and the next minute they are playing again. Living in Peace is not the absence of argument but managing our differences without hurting one another. Living in peace may be difficult but it helps grow unity amongst us. Endeavour to live in peace wherever you are and God will be glorified.
Good Day and God bless you.

MEMORY VERSE:
2 Corinthians 13:11
11 Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.

BIBLE READING:
Amos 3:3.
“3. Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
Today, we shall be looking at the fourth word of Apostle Paul to all believers. Paul said, “Live In Harmony”. First of all, what is Harmony? Harmony is the combination of different personalities, sounds or idea to produce a specific and unique goal. Harmony is submitting your ego, pride, knowledge to work with others in other to achieve a cooperate success. Harmony is based on Agreement, Sacrifice and humility. Harmony is what makes marriages work, it makes ministry move forward, it makes nation united and makes achievement in business easier. To live in harmony simply means accepting other’s ideas without neglecting anyone. Giving room to everyone’s idea in order to achieve cooperate success. This is what Harmony entails.
When Paul was speaking to the Philippians 2:2, He said,
“2 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, And Working Together With One Mind And Purpose.” (NLT)
If I may ask, do we really live in harmony? Don’t you want your own ideas to be accepted even it won’t work? Problems in Ministry today is traceable to lack of Harmony. Amos 3:3, said,
“3. Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” This is talking about Harmony, not love. Harmony is the foundation of Love. When harmony is achieved, to love will be easier. Harmony is all about submitting to the best decision not to my decision. Apostle Paul encourages us to live in harmony in other to please God. Living in harmony may seems foolish but the result will be glaring in due time. Marriage can only succeed when the two live in harmony. Believers can make heaven when we live in harmony, submitting to one purpose and not doctrine of the church. Work towards Harmony and we will be making God glad.
Good Day and God bless you.
