Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel
Week 47, Day 7:
Saturday, 25th November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Specific Vow (7)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 1:11.
“11. And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.”
Happy weekend to everyone, may the Lord bless our effort with good fortunes in Jesus name, Amen.
Hannah went straight to God by passing every other links to Him. She utilized the opportunity to speak her mind to God. The scripture said, “She Vowed a Vow. What is a vow? It’s a personal commitment to God. Vow is an agreement between you and God, a promise to be fulfil when the other fulfils his or her part. We will spend sometime on the topic “Vow”. Hannah made a commitment that God couldn’t resist but to fulfilled in the course of time. Untill you get to this level in your life, you might not be ready for what you desire. Hannah clarified what she want, what She will give in return if it’s done.
Her request; ‘Give me a son’, not a daughter (specific request).
Her responsibility; I will give Him Back to you, and no razor will touch his head.
Have you find yourself making vows and yet to be fulfilled? Was it detailed? How specific was it? I hope you didn’t attach a time frame? We can’t force God with a time frame but we can move God with our commitment. Hannah said, “I will give Him Back to you”, what is God going to benefit from your vow, was it included? Go back and check your vow, it might just be a prayer point and not a vow. Be specific with your vow and spell out His benefit for doing it, that is a Vow.
Good Day and God bless you.

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel
Week 47, Day 6:
Friday, 24th November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Go to God not Human (6)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 1:10.
“10. And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.”
We Thank God for another weekend, may His name be praise forevermore. I decree this morning, every bitterness in our lives will receive the presence of the Almighty in Jesus mighty name, amen.
“Going to God not Human” is our focus today. When the season becomes darker, tougher and difficult to handle the best person to turn to is God. When the mockery become tensed and reproaching, put the source aside and go to God. No matter the love and encouragement, turn to God for a change of story. Pour your heart to God in prayers, not complain, grumble or murmuring of what men has done but on what you want God to do.
Hannah deemed it fit to reach out to God directly. She separated herself from her family, both the encourager and the discourager, and went to God to pour out her mind. Enough of listening to reproach and mockery, go directly to God. Enough of going to men of God and prophets, go to God directly. Jesus is our channel to God not human. Hannah left Eli, the priest, at the entrance of the Tabernacle and went straight to God. Go to God, the access is free. Remember Apostle Paul’s word, and I’m leaving you with that.
Philippians 4:6.
“6. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Wednesday, 22nd November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Take Care Of yourself (5)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 1:9.
“9. So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk….”
A blessed Thursday to everyone this wonderful day, may the Eye of the Lord lead and guide us in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Our Topic today seems natural and simple but it’s one of those steps being neglected when it comes to challenging times. Eating and Drinking; people find these very difficult when going through situations. They avoid eating not because of fasting, they keep saying,”i have no appetite”, “I lost my appetite” “I don’t want to eat”, Hunnn, this is very dangerous. Food is not the cause of those challenges neither will it stop them. Yes, you may fast but fasting shouldn’t be too much also, eat and drink enough for strength and hydration. There’s a saying, “If you don’t eat your food like medicine, you will take your medicine like food”. Finding an appetite to eat is very crucial.
I’m not undermining the place of fasting and prayer, please get my point, but starving yourself isn’t the way out. Eat regularly when you’re not fasting. The scripture said, “So Hannah rose up after they had EATEN IN SHILOH, AND AFTER THEY HAD DRUNK….” Still, she was barren, she wasn’t fasting even at shiloh, you need to keep fit.
Meanwhile, ‘drunk’ isn’t talking about alcohol, talking about enough water for hydration regularly. Eat to gain enough energy, stability and strength to always be equal to your game. Stop starving yourself in the name of going through some challenges. When fasting also, let there be enough time to eat and drink enough water and Non-alcoholic drink. It’s best to remain fit always. May we be wise in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel
Week 47, Day 4:
Wednesday, 22nd November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Encourager or Discourager? (4)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 1:8.
“8. Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons?”
We thank God for giving us the breath and light of a new day again, To Him always be the glory forevermore, Amen.
Today’s devotional is a litmus test question to every reader, Are you an Encourager or a Discourager? Do people like to talk to you when faced with challenges? Does your words bring healing or wounds? Does your spouse prefer speaking to outsider than speaking to you? Does your Boss seeks information from your subordinate instead of you his direct assistance? Your words need to be checked if it brings injury or peace of mind.
Elkanah was the only and best encourager that Hannah could have gotten and He was always available to encourage her, despite the second wife’s mockery. She had no child to play with or send on an errand, but Elkanah was available. When you speak, does it bring peace of mind? Do people want to listen to you speak or they avoid your talks? Are you like Job’s friend or Barnabas? Change your words. Try to be a shoulder one can lean on in times of challenges. Be that Elkanah and not Peninnah everywhere you find yourself.
Good Day and God bless you.

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 47, Day 3: Tuesday, 21st November, 2023. TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Privilege Not A Right (3)

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel
Week 47, Day 3:
Tuesday, 21st November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Privilege Not A Right (3)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 1:6-7.
“6. And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.
7. And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat.
A blessed day for you in Jesus name, Amen.
Third point to note from our study is, “Seeing situations As Privilege Not A Right”. Most benefits we received or earned are not our right, they are not product of knowledge, wisdom or education they are all privileges. Haven’t you seen people with better qualifications, beauty or wealth than you do but lack the privileges you are enjoying? Some times we conclude it’s their sin, may i ask you, is it your righteousness or faithfulness that earned you all you had? No they are privileges.
Peninnah had children while Hannah had none. She felt it’s her right to have them but not the right of Hannah to have any. She never saw it as a privilege but a right. The Bible said in Psalms 130:3
“3. If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?”
Mocking, Reproaching and abusing others about their predicament is a sin, so how do you want to proof that you’re righteous? All you have, earned/acquired are product of privilege not your right so, stop using it against others. Mind you, privileges can be withdrawn by the giver, be careful how you use your privileges. When you reproach others for what they lack, let it ring in your heart that, i have it isn’t my right either, it is a privilege and i have to be grateful for it.
Good Day and God bless you.

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel
Week 47, Day 2:
Monday, 20th November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Don’t Be Partial (2)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 1:4-5.
“4. And when the time was that Elkanah offered, he gave to Peninnah his wife, and to all her sons and her daughters, portions:
5. But unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the LORD had shut up her womb.”
Welcome to the first working day of the week, our going and coming shall be blessed this week in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
The second point to note from our Bible Reading is the attitude of Elkanah, He wasn’t a partial Husband to his wives, both were given portions according to their numbers. He was conscious to give them their portion as wives and children. He never favoured any of his wive than the other. How many of us can walk this same path without showing favourism? May be to give Peninnah much and little to Hannah or vice verser, but He chose not to do so. Many of us, especially parents, choose one child above the other as favorite. In our places of work, partiality by tribe, gender, nepotism, or by religion, this is not meant to be seen amongst belivers.
Apostle Paul said to Timothy, in 1 Timothy 5:21,
“I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.”
Elkanah showed no partiality, though he loved Hannah, he still loved Peninnah and showed them love always. Are you not partial in your dealings? If that same partiality is being shown towards you by being denied a privilege, will you be comfortable with it? Doing nothing by partiality.
Good Day and God bless you.

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel
Week 47, Day 1:
Sunday, 19th November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Faithfulness Not Immunity to Challenges (1)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 1:1-3.
“1. Now there was a certain man of Ramathaimzophim, of mount Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephrathite:
2. And he had two wives; the name of the one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah: and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.
3. And this man went up out of his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice unto the LORD of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the LORD, were there.”
Good morning Beloved of God, I welcome you to this new week, may our strength be renew in Jesus mighty Name, Amen. This week, we will be studying 1st Samuel Chapter One, to see what God will be saying to us. Our first Sub Topic says, “Faithfulness Not Immunity to Challenges”.
From our reading, the Man, Elkanah was a faithful man, who worshiped and served God with his family. We are made to know, they do worshipped the Lord at Shiloh yearly not naming their weekly and monthly worship in their home. With all these, one of his wives, Hannah was still barren after many years of marriage. Serving God is not proof that we will not go through challenges. Paying our tithes, rendering kingdom services and blessing others isn’t immune to difficulties. When we’re faced with opposition, it is not the time to start complaining of our services but a time to keep serving and remain focused on God. Elkanah never stops serving God yearly with his family despite the long distance and Hannah’s delay in child bearing. Don’t let those challenges reduce your commitment to God, keep doing your best regardless of the challenges.
Good Day and God bless you.

TOPIC: Walking In The Wisdom Of God.
Daily Increase In Wisdom – (18)

MEMORY VERSE:
Luke 2:52.
“52. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

BIBLE READING:
Luke 2:52.
“52. And Jesus increased in wisdom…”
Happy weekend to everyone this morning, i wish you all a peaceful relaxation in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
As we round up for the week, i want us to know that, wisdom shouldn’t be dormant, one shouldn’t be stagnant when it comes to wisdom. In every areas of life we all need wisdom, deficiency of wisdom in marriage and sufficient of wisdom in career isn’t a success, it should be all wise. Likewise, wisdom can’t be enough, it should grow on a daily basis because every day comes with different challenges. Our Bible reading said of Jesus, “…And Jesus increased in wisdom…” Meaning He gained wise consistently, He wasn’t static at a point of wisdom but He was metamorphosing in wisdom, that is how it should be for every children of God.
When King David was encouraging his son King Solomon, he said, “Now therefore hold him not guiltless: FOR THOU ART A WISE MAN, and knowest what thou oughtest to do unto him; but his hoar head bring thou down to the grave with blood. – 1 Kings 2:9”
He acted wisely before becoming the king, and do you still remembered He’s request from God after his sacrifice? He said,
“Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? – 1 Kings 3:9”
He asked God for understanding to judge His people, is understandable possible without Wisdom? No. Wisdom is knowing How to handle situations. Wisdom is the application of what you know and understand. With wisdom, he understood, that was why, when he show forth His wisdom to judge the two women with a dead children, the scripture said,
“… for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment. – 1 Kings 3:28.
Brethren, we need to increase in wisdom in every area, as Jesus increased in wisdom we also should do. Yesterday’s wisdom is outdated, seek for new wisdom for the day and that is why the reading of God’s word is so important to every believer. That is when we can give the right answer to all situation presented before us, so therefore, in all thy getting, get wisdom on a daily bases, then can we be a good example of Jesus Christ to the world.
Good Day and God bless you.

Wisdom Through Multiple Counsel – (17)

MEMORY VERSE:
Luke 2:52.
“52. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

BIBLE READING:
Proverbs 11:14.
“14. Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.”
Proverbs 15:22.
“22. Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.”
We bless God for the entrance of His word into many lives for the past two (2) weeks on the topic “Walking In The Wisdom Of God” through this Daily Devotional. I want to believe that God has spoken to us a lot, may His name alone be praise for ever more. As we move toward the end of this topic, i ‘ll like to talk about more ways to gain God’s wisdom which is through “Multiple Counsel”. Counsel means to seek for advice, to get information, dig deep from multiple person with God’s wisdom. Lets take an example, an intending house owner won’t dabble into building a house without detailed counsel. This counsel will need different engineer expertise to give him the detail about the house. Likewise, for any assignments to be carried out multiple counsel will be needed from spiritual fathers, those who have plight that path before you and above all, God the giver of the dream.
Moses needed the counsel of Jethro, His father-in-law, to know how to work with time and preserve his health. To get wisdom, we need to seek for godly counsel, sieve them and focus on the applicable ones. King Solomon said, in multitude of counsel, safety and purpose are establish. You need to speak to people about that dream and purpose of yours to get the mind of God. Seek multiple counsel to get wisdom.

What Wisdom Is Not – Turning From God (16)

MEMORY VERSE:
Luke 2:52.
“52. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

BIBLE READING:
2 Timothy 4:10.
“10. For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.”
Good day beloved of God, may the presence of God not depart our lives in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. There’s no wisdom in turning from God for any reason. Many turned away from God for one reason or the other such as barrenness, poverty, love of the world, lack of partner or attitude of christians, none of these reasons worth turning from God. When we turn from God or backslide who do we go to? Running to rituals, occultic powers, running to idols or turning away from God’s law of holiness isn’t a guarantee that all needs will be met outside God, there’s no wisdom in it. King Saul turned from God to spiritual medium but none was able to save him. King Solomon thought he has seen it all after all the wisdom gathered and turned away from God to other gods but this led to his destruction.
Apostle Paul talked about Demas, a fellow worker, who left the faith and turned to the world, he was carried away by lust of the flesh. May i say this, what you can’t find in God can’t be found in the world, yes, you were promised having children, wealth, riches and fame, do you think they are for free without consequences? No, no wisdom in turning away from God. I don’t know who this message is meant for, if you are on the verge of turning from God, it’s a wrong step, no promises is worth it. If you have turned away from Him, He is calling you back today. Apostle Paul said “Who shall separate us from the love of God? Roman 8:35, Nothing but we ourselves. It’s not wise to turn from God, remain with Him and He will answer your request.
