TOPIC: LESSON FROM MORDECAI AND ESTHER: Take The Risk After Prayers (13)

MEMORY VERSE:
2 Timothy 2:6.
“6. The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.”

BIBLE READING:
Esther 4:16.
“16… and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: AND IF I PERISH, I PERISH.”
The Lord will give you breakthrough in all you’re going through this year in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Prayers are communication medium between God and man. When we communicate with Him He responds with ideas, strength, helpers or audible voice needed for our request. In the case of Esther, even before the prayers, she made up her mind to take the risk to present herself before the King. Many atimes we pray and fast but delay in taking step. We are slow in taking risk because we are too careful which is a sign of being fearful.
Talking about risk, remember the four lepers in 2nd Kings 7,
“4. If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.”
Their risk was the fulfilment of a prophecy by Elisha for surplus in famine. The same was what happened here, Esther decided to take a risk that will prolong the race of the Jewish nation by appearing before the King unannounced. She told her uncle, “If I perish, I perish”. Can we take such risk in our lives concerning that assignment? Can you take the risk to protect that home, that life and that call upon your life? It’s time to take the risk. Face your fear and move forward. There’s always a valley behind every monutain.
Good Day and God bless you.

Week 14: Day 5:
Thursday, 4th April, 2024

TOPIC: LESSON FROM MORDECAI AND ESTHER: Tell It To God (12)

MEMORY VERSE:
2 Timothy 2:6.
“6. The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.”

BIBLE READING:
Esther 4:15-16.
“15. Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer,”
“16. Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; …”
Today shall bring you Joy, headway, and fresh inspiration to those situations that seems endless in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Proverbs 22:6, has this to say,
“6. Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Esther was well trained, she knew what Mordecai will do when faced with difficult situations such as this but he was beclouded and lost focus of God until Esther reminded him. Mostly, in difficult times we turn to men instead of God. We tender our requests to men and pray God uses them to answer our prayers, when we are supposed to speak to God first before speaking to men. Esther reminded her uncle of the importance of prayer and pleaded with him to spread the news to all Jews to fast and pray while she and her maid will also do same to that effect.
God can’t be sideline, He should be the first and not the last, He’s meant to lead us not we leading Him. Have you spoken to God about those situations or you’ve concluded in your mind the person God should use? These are reasons for disappointment.
Hebrew 12: 2 says, “Looking up to Jesus, the Author and finisher of our faith…” Who do you look up to? It should always be God first, others second not the other way round. Fasting and prayer are tools to change things for good. Pray to God about everything because He cares so much for us.
Good Day and God bless you.

Wednesday, 3rd April, 2024

TOPIC: LESSON FROM MORDECAI AND ESTHER: Reach Out For Help (11)

MEMORY VERSE:
2 Timothy 2:6.
“6. The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.”

BIBLE READING:
Esther 4:13-14.
“13. Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews.”
“14. For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
The wisdom to handle situations stirring at you and I will be given to us in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Yesterday, we discussed Haman’s treat towards the Jews all because of Mordecai. He received the order from the king to put to death every trace of Jew in the land not knowing that Esther, the Queen, was also a Jew. His plan was sealed with the singlet ring of the King which means it can’t be changed or alter. But Mordecai knew what to do next. He knew where next to go. He reached out to the one he had placed in position, his Uncle’s daughter who was the queen. He launched out and reminded her, “We all need your help. It’s your time to reciprocate all my effort on you.”
May I tell you this which have found to be true many times; helping people today is creating streams of helpers for your tomorrow. Not all that you helped will reciprocate but one of those you’ve helped will be the needed answer in your time of need. Your effort on that person isn’t a waste, it’s an investment. Yes, there are people who turned against their helpers when needed most but that shouldn’t be the reason why you won’t help. Those you’ve helped will respond to your request. Mordecai also called on Esther whom he has helped to the position of a queen. Don’t be shy to make request, it’s not a crime to harvest from your investment but don’t become a burden on them. Reach out to those you’ve been a blessing to when you need help, it’s not begging it’s call asking.
Good Day and God bless you.

Week 14: Day 3:
Tuesday, 2nd April, 2024

TOPIC: LESSON FROM MORDECAI AND ESTHER: Knowing Who You Are Attracts Enmity (10)

MEMORY VERSE:
2 Timothy 2:6.
“6. The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.”

BIBLE READING:
Esther 3:5-6
“5. When Haman saw that Mordecai would not bow down or show him respect, he was filled with rage.”
“6. He had learned of Mordecai’s nationality, so he decided it was not enough to lay hands on Mordecai alone. Instead, he looked for a way to destroy all the Jews throughout the entire empire of Xerxes.”
Our stand for God will profit us and what we believe will surely be rewarded.
Two days ago, we talked about record of Mordecai’s good gesture being recorded but wasn’t rewarded. Instead, Haman was lifted which was also one of the reasons for Mordecai not bowing to him. Mordecai was adamant with his decision which provoked Haman to seek for revenge. Now, Haman went the extra mile to include the entire Jews in order to get at Mordecai but he never knew he was treading on a path to his own death.
Your righteous stand and decisions attracts more enmity to you and to those that are loyal and close to you. This is the reason your enemy seek revenge on your children instead of you. Doing God’s will attracts enmity, evil act and negative reactions. That you didn’t offend them but they choose to be your enemy is as a result of your way of life not because you have hurt them. When you know who you are in Christ the devil is angry and uses any means to get at you. Don’t be distracted, don’t be afraid because God is on your side and he will keep everyone who look up to Him in safety. Your identity attract more enmity.
Good Day and God bless you.

TOPIC: LESSON FROM MORDECAI AND ESTHER: Knowing Who You Are (9)

MEMORY VERSE:
2 Timothy 2:6.
“6. The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.”

BIBLE READING:
Esther 3:1-2.
“1. After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him.”
“2. And all the king’s servants, that were in the king’s gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.”
HAPPY EASTER
Mordecai from our Bible reading today teaches us a lesson as Christians which is so important. Knowing who we are and to whom to bow is part of the life of Jesus Christ. In Luke Chapter 4 verse 4 to 8, we read of how Jesus was tempted by the devil to bow to him in order to give him the whole earth and Jesus made it known that, only God should be worship and not man. Likewise, Mordecai did the same here, since He was a Jew, he recognized His position that he is above Haman regardless of his title and he refuses to bow to him.
Many of us has bowed to what should bow to us, in order to please the world, get money or get title. Some christians have bowed to human, principalities and thrones. Some women in the name of Job bowed to immorality likewise men. Some ladies sacrificed their virginity for marriage promises but later loose on both sides. What pressure are you bowing to? The three Hebrew boys told the King, we will not bow to your God because we know who we are. Until you discover your identity you will always bow to circumstances and human. Do you know who you are?
This is who we are as Christian,
1 Peter 2:9.
“9. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”
When you know your juridiction then you can know what your rights are. Identify who you are and live according.

Sunday, 31st March, 2024

TOPIC: LESSON FROM MORDECAI AND ESTHER: There Is A Record (8)

MEMORY VERSE:
2 Timothy 2:6.
“6. The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.”

BIBLE READING:
Esther 2:23.
“23. And when inquisition was made of the matter, it was found out; therefore they were both hanged on a tree: and it was written in the book of the chronicles before the king.”
Happy Easter to You All. He’s Rising. He’s alive. Our works of Salvation was perfected. Hallelujah.
Welcome to the last day of the month of March. We bless the Lord for keeping and sustaining us till date. Blessed be His wonderful name. As we continue on “Lessons From Mordecai and Esther”, today, the Lord is saying, “There Is A Record”, yes, all we’ve been doing till date are recorded. It may not be in books but people are watching and it’s being noted. Let me share my experience about this.
Some years back, as a practicing Engineer, (although still practicing till date), a Job was sublet to me and coincidentally, the then site supervisor is one of our consistent reader till date, Halleluyah. My contractor and I had a misunderstanding which made me stopped the Job. I left the site for few days and later came back to pick my tools from the site. Suddenly, the site supervisor saw me and asked, Emmanuel, what happened, it’s been some days I saw you last on site? I responded that I quit the work that I’m not satisfy with my contractor. After our discussion, when I was about to leave, he said a word which i never forgot till date. He said, Emmanuel, continue the work, “SOMEONE IS WATCHING”. I was like, who is watching? But He succeeded in convincing me to continue the Job. Not long, when I was back to the site, someone from the same site introduced me to the main Contractor of the site and gave me a new contract because, “Some was Watching”.
This was the case with Mordecai, He wasn’t rewarded instantly but it was recorded in the book of history. May I tell my readers today, “Someone is Watching” and a record is being kept about all your doings and dealings. What will your record bring? Good or bad? Regret or Rejoicing? Your attitude is known to many who will speak of you to someone. Remember, Galatians 6:7, which says,
“7. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
Every attitude is a seed and we will reap the fruit thereof. Do what you will be happy you did.
Good Day and God bless you.

Week 13: Day 7:
Saturday, 30th March, 2024

TOPIC: LESSON FROM MORDECAI AND ESTHER: Credit Other’s Effort 7

MEMORY VERSE:
2 Timothy 2:6.
“6. The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.”

BIBLE READING:
Esther 2:21-22.
“21. In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king’s gate, two of the king’s chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.”
“22. And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the queen; and Esther certified the king thereof in Mordecai’s name.”
Happy Weekend to everyone. May God reward all your effort and make you smile to His presence with testimony in Jesus Name, Amen.
Welcome to the continuation of our lessons from Mordecai and Esther. Today, we are learning from Esther’s attitude towards her uncle, Mordecai. Our Bible reading today talked about Mordecai revealing an assassination attempt on the King to Queen Esther, who inturn revealed it to the King and gave the credit to Mordecai. She made it known to the king that Mordecai was privileged to hear it, (in order to be rewarded). Esther was the queen who would have told the King the attempt on His life without mentioning Mordecai’s name but reverse is the case.
Who do you give the credit to, yourself or the revealer? When others get the ideas and revealed it to you, do you remember to ascribe the credit to the right source? I once watched a movie where a step-daughter found her father’s lost cash, kept by her step-sister. But her step-mother told her Husband that her daughter found it where the step-daughter kept it. That wasn’t what Esther did, she credited the creditor, mentioned Mordecai to the king for reference purpose. This is an important lesson to learn. Claiming other’s credit won’t reduce them nor increase you but will rather belittle you when the truth comes out. Give credit to whom it belong and let them be rewarded accordingly. Parents and Guardian should learn to do the needful between their children and others, likewise spouse, may God give us the courage to act rightly in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Good Day and God bless you.

TOPIC: LESSON FROM MORDECAI AND ESTHER: Be Teachable 6

MEMORY VERSE:
2 Timothy 2:6.
“6. The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.”

BIBLE READING:
Esther 2:15, 17.
“15. Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, *_she required nothing but what Hegai the king’s chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed._* And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her.”
17.And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.”
Father, Thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus for our sin. Thank you for loving us that much when we were still sinners to Christ as the lamb of God.
Happy Good Friday.
In our world today, there’s what we call, “Too Know” which has led many away from their opportunities. Some preferred to be the head without having idea of what to do. Pride, being full of oneself, has caused many to fail in their endeavors and life generally. Today, I’ll like you to know that in every venture you are into, there’s always how to do it, there are people ahead of you, who knows more than you do, relax and learn, don’t be the, “I know it all”.
Esther had the opportunity to show case her beauty before the king. Her time came to be presented like others. Others did all their best to be the winner of the contest but Esther decided to listen to the instructors on what to do, what to wear and how to present herself before the King. The scripture said,
“She required nothing but what Hegai the king’s chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed.” She made her job easier by trusting Hegai to decide what she need to go with, and the scripture said,
“And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her.”
That is, all those who were present when she surrendered herself to the woman in charge, favoured Esther right from the room.
In every game, marriage, work place including our churches, there are principles we have to follow if we must succeed. You can’t know above those who are ahead of you, lower your pride to know the principles and to apply it. Search out the principal that works in your area and function with it. Always know that, no one knows it all.
Good Day and God bless you.
