TOPIC: WHO IS JESUS 7: The Vine

Memory Verse: Math 16:13
“13 … He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

Bible Reading: John 15:5-6
“5 “I am the vine, you  are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is  withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.”
Jesus Christ introduced Himself as the Vine and we as the branches. Jesus is simply saying, He is our source, source of everything that makes us who we are. Can a branch exist without the Vine? Every branch is a product of a vine. Without the vine the branch can’t be, that is what Jesus meant when He said, without me you can do nothing. We, as  branches, draws our strength from Jesus, the Vine. We depend wholly on Him for our surviver and livelihood. We cannot do without Him, Oh, you mean you’ve been surviving without Jesus? No, you are just existing, you are not living fully the way you are to live, because without the vine the branch can’t live.
Get this from me, until you become a vine to others you are not living fully, yes, you, as a branch, need to become a vine to others to live through but this can’t be made possible since you are not connected to your source of strength. What you get from the vine, as a branch, is what you are to pass over to other branches from you. You need the vine to the best you’ve been predestined to be. We can’t do without Jesus, our source of everything.
Get connected to Jesus, to identify what your responsibilities are, in order to live a purpose fulfilled life. When the branch is disconnected from the Vine, it might still look fresh but the branch will soon dry up. Go back to your source which is Jesus Christ, our Vine.

TOPIC: WHO IS JESUS 6: The Way, The Truth and The Life

Memory Verse: Math 16:13
“13 … He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

Bible Reading: John 14:6
“6 Jesus said to him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life. Jesus was sent to the world to connect us back to God after the world was led astray by our forefathers. Many ways were initiated and the Way to the Father become hidden. Little still maintain the right Way to God but many are clueless of it. This made God sent His only begotten son, Jesus, (John 3:16), to show us the Way back to Him. The Way that was once the only and wide Way now became the narrow way because, others way has become wider than the way to God, Math. 7:13-14. Jesus is the right Way back to God.
Now, until you find the Right Way, (Jesus), you cannot find the truth. Many knows the Way, Jesus, but has refuse to accept the truth. The truth is imbedded in the Way. They knew Jesus as the Way, they believe in His existence but refuse the Truth about Him and this can’t help them to the Father. Some also knows the Way and The Truth but refuses to walk in the truth so, they are caged by the devil, the Scripture said, you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free, John 8:32.
Lastly, Many knows the Way and walked in it. Received the truth but lack the Life therein, what do i mean? They received the truth, accepted it but find it difficult to act the truth. They show others the truth, they speak the truth but couldn’t acts the truth, so therefore they lack the life of God, Math. 23:13-30. But there are some who knows the Way, the Truth and have received the Life therein.
Where do you belong? Have you been walking in the Way, the truth, and has the life be manifested in you? It is not about knowing Jesus but following Him day and night in all His commandments, because without Him you cannot get to the father. Jesus is the only Way, The Truth and The Life.

TOPIC: WHO IS JESUS 5: The Resurrection And Life

Memory Verse: Math 16:13
“13 … He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

Bible Reading: John 101:24-25
“24 Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.
It’s a pity that many believers, even Pastors and leaders of  churches does not believe that God still resurrect believers in this generation. When such miracle take place, believers are the first to criticize, breaking the news that “it can’t be possible.” “It is charm”. “The prophet is a fake man of God”. We simply mean diabolic powers can do what God can’t do. We hardly believe that, it is God. But the truth of the matter is this, Jesus is the Resurrection and Life. He brings back to life and gives life back to the dead.
Martha believed in Jesus Christ. She accepted He is the Resurrection but it’s in the coming age not in their generation. She believed just as many believers today would believe, that, Jesus is the Resurrection and Life but not in this generation. My Bible tells me that, “Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever more” Heb. 13:8. What He said, He was, is what He is, and what He will always be. He is the Resurrection and Life. He never said, “I was” neither did He said, “I will be” but He said “I am the Resurrection and Life”  meaning it is continuous. If you believe, you will see the Glory of God.
I pray with you today, everything that is dead in your life, the power of resurrection rest on them in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Jesus is the Resurrection and Life giver, He will give life to every lifeless situation in and around you today in Jesus Precious name, Amen. Let your faith bring your Resurrection in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

TOPIC: WHO IS JESUS 4: The Good Shepherd

Memory Verse: Math 16:13
“13 … He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

Bible Reading: John 10:11-14
“11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
12 But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep  and scatters them.
13 The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd; and I know  My sheep, and am known by My own.”
Jesus Christ is The Good Shepherd not just a shepherd, but the Good one. As we all know who shepherds are, they watch over their sheep or flocks. A typical example is a good Fulani who goes around in search for what their flock will eat day and night. Not just the Fulani of this days that have other missions but the good ones that care about their flock for good pastures. He stays ahead to lead them, he move around for protection and when it feels okay, he leads from behind, in all, for their safety.
This is whom Jesus is to us. He is our guide in this world. Our Leader, Protector, Provider and our Defence. Jesus stands as our owner not an employee who can turn us down when we default, No, He is the only Good Shepherd who cares come what may. One good thing about the Shepherd is the fact that, He always look out for us even when we feel He is not present. When we go astray, He takes out time to search for us. He guide us back to where the flocks are. He might be angry with us but still He loves and cares for us. He might use His rod as a cane also as a guide. He loves us regardless of our ways.
Here is the challenge, Do we recognise His voice when He calls? Do we identify with Him everywhere we are? Do men know who our Shepherd is? Are we a responsible sheep who listen to His calls? May we be able to hear and recognise our Good Shepherd as He is leading us in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

TOPIC: WHO IS JESUS 3: The Door: Entrance.

Memory Verse: Math 16:13
“13 … He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

Bible Reading: John 10:7-9
7 Then Jesus said to them again, “Most  assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the  sheep.
8 All whoever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
Today, we are looking at, Jesus Christ, as The Door. This door speaks volume to every facet of life. First of all, He is the door to safety from every evil on earth. In verse 8, Jesus said, He is the door that secures the sheep from robbers and thieves. He secures whoever accepts Him as Lord and Saviour. He rescues us from seen and unseen dangers flying here and there.
Secondly, Jesus is the door that preserves within and without. When you are in Christ, He secures you when you are out for pastures. This door is an edge around us wherever we find ourselves.
Thirdly, this door leads to life eternal. He said, whoever enters through Him will be saved, this is life eternal. You get assess to God directly. You are save from judgment, from the lot of the wicked.
When you have Jesus in you, He allows things that works in your favour come around you, whatever is negative He shuts Himself against them all. Jesus is the door that leads to that godly desires you have within. Let this consciousness be in you and you will enjoy these benefits in your life.

TOPIC: WHO IS JESUS 2: The Light Of The World

Memory Verse: Math 16:13
“13 … He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

Bible Reading: John 8:12.
“12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
Jesus Christ is the light of the world, He has been from the beginning of the world. Where there is light, darkness vanishes without any command. In John 1:4-5, the Bible says,
4 In Him was life, and  the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not  comprehend it.”
Jesus has never been overcome by the world or darkness. He rules from the beginning of the world till date, and He will continue to rule till eternity. Whoever follows Jesus, as the light of this world, will overcome the darkness of this world. When we choose to follow Christ we decide to walk in the light, we’ve decided to walk away from the darkness totally, that was why Jesus called us the light of the world, because whatever He is, is what we become if we choose to follow His footsteps.
Math. 5:14-16,
“14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a  lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
How do we manifest as light? It’s through our good works, through our walk with Him, following His footsteps. Propagating the Gospel of Christ anywhere we find ourselves. When we have the originator of light within us, we’ll reflect and radiate the same light to the world. Are you reflecting the light of God or are you still in the darkness? Jesus is the light of the world and we’ve become the light also if we will walk with Him.

TOPIC: WHO IS JESUS 1: The Bread Of Life

Memory Verse: Math 16:13
“13 … He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

Bible Reading: John 6:48
“I am the bread of life.”
Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour was sent to this world to close the gap between mankind and God. He came in the nature of man, lived as men, ate and drank what men lived by till His time to fulfill His assignment on earth. He lived and introduced Himself in different forms while on earth.
This week, we will be studying of His personality, First, as The Bread Of Life. In our world, bread signifies what we eat for sustenance. Biologically, we need food for growth and life, without this, we cannot live healthy and we need it daily. The Bible also confirm this in 1 Corinth. 6:13 by Apostle Paul,
“Foods for the  stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them…”. Our stomach is meant for the food. No matter how you fast you must come back to eat. Likewise, Spiritually, we need the bread of life to feed on, spiritually, which we can only receive from Jesus Christ our saviour. Jesus introducing Himself as the bread of life means, what we need to live on spiritually is Jesus, the bread of life. We need the physical bread (food) everyday, likewise, to be healthy spiritually, we need the bread of life day and night. This bread of Life – Jesus Christ, give life eternal to any who eats of it.
John 6:49-51
49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
50 This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.
51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread  that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”
Jesus is the bread of life and we all need Him to live because without Him, we will remain Spiritual Kwashiorkor. How often to do we eat the bread of life? Are you eating of it at all? Were you able to eat of Him today? Without Him, we can do nothing. He is available to those who desire to eat of Him.

TOPIC: IMPROVE YOURSELF 6: Your Services

Memory Verse: 3 John 1:2
“2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all  things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

Bible Reading: Colo. 3:23-25.
“23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to  the Lord and not to men,
24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for a you serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.”
This week, we’ve reason together on areas we need to  improve on ourselves in order to be positioned for what God has for us. Above all, today, I will want to encourage us on improving our service life. As Christians, our services is to reduce the burdens in our various churches. We are to improve on how we handle the things of God. Many Christians render their services to God but not wholeheartedly. Many end their services to God with complain, grudges, insult, or with high reward expectation from the servants of God.
Services is different from work or labour. Work and labour attract wages from your employer but service is sacrificial. When we render ourselves to God through a man/woman of God, we are equally working together to be paid by God. Service is an act of worship to God. Our service should have no end, It should be continuous. As long as we live we must serve God, so we need to improve on our service life. I’m not saying, you won’t be discouraged, reproached, or even attract more enmity to yourself but this is what we should know, our services to God shouldn’t be reduced but need to be improved on.
To the Colossians, Apostle Paul said, it is God that will reward us and not man. We are to make God the focus of our services. For He is not a debtor but a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Improve on your service to God and you will never regret you did.

TOPIC: IMPROVE YOURSELF 5: Your Marriage Bond

Memory Verse: 3 John 1:2
“2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all  things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

Bible Reading: Eph. 6:22-33.
“22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
27 that He might  present her to Himself a glorious church, not  having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.
31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33 Nevertheless let each one of you in  particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.”
Marriage is the will of God for mankind not just for Christians, Gen 1:28. It is a tool in the hand of God to fill the earth with human being. God created marriage for Matured Man and Woman, to live together as one. The door to every successful marriage should be LOVE (although some entered with lust) but to sustain every marriage, we need more than love and this is where many get it wrong. I will like to say this, no marriage can’t be successful if the parties involves are not willing to improve on their individual lives. Change is constant in every human and likewise in marriages, so, personal improvement goes a long way to forster our marriages in order.
Apostle Paul talked about the attitude of the husband to the wife and vice versa. If the man is ready to improve on himself in order for the marriage to work, it will be done. Likewise, if the woman will improve on her attitude and submit, the marriage can work. Every challenge in our marriage is directing us to improve on some areas of our life. For men, improvement on how to relate with woman, understanding their attitude and their strength can help build a better marriage. Woman should also improve on accepting the man’s fault, and focus on his strength with prayers, the marriage can work.
I’ve come to discover that, every successful marriage is a product of “the Fool and the Wise”. One plays the fool while the other plays the wise, but at the end of it all, the wise one will discovered, he/she was not the wise but he/she was just accepted to play the role. Likewise, the fool will also realise that, his/her foolishness was what built the marriage. Improve your marriage by being bendable, forget about finding faults, forgive ahead and make your home your responsibility, before you know what, you are building a successful home. Improve by reducing your nagging, correction, casting of blame, reasoning before castigating, and be a listener. Your marriage can be the best by improving on yourself to influence your partner rightly. Your marriage depends on you.

Week 40, Day 5,

TOPIC: IMPROVE YOURSELF 4: Relate Equally

Memory Verse: 3 John 1:2
“2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all  things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

Bible Reading: Philippians 2:3-4
“3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”
To be like Jesus, we all need to improve the way we relate with everyone around us, both the High and Low, the Great and Little, Favoured and Unfavoured, God created us all. Segregation is one of the bad habit that has dominated Christiandom. We rate people by what they have, what we have and where we are presently but we are all equal in the sight of God. Position, wealth, anointing, title has made us create a gap between ourselves right inside the church, we need to improve the way we relate with everyone around us, within and outside our local churches.
Apostle Paul was  speaking to the Philippians on how to treat one another. He explain that love should reign and not rank. He talked about looking out for one another regardless of the differences between us. We need to be selfless in relating with everyone around us starting from the church, our various home, places of work, in our community and market place. Everywhere is filled up with churches and Christians but the love that Christianity professes is lacking. We care for ourselves only, we focus on helping and blessing people within our circle of friends alone. We look down on those who have not, as been lazy or wasting our resources when given to them. We see others as inferior to ourselves and this can’t help the Gospel of Christ to spread.
Relate with the low and the high; the slave girls, sales boys and orphans around you. See others as someone who needs you and you need. Seeing others better than you, does not reduce anything from your life, it rather proves you to be humble. Care for the less privileges, look out for others not just those you know, and with this, souls can be saved, life can be touched and wounds can be heal. Improve your relationships with people around you and you will find yourself pleasing the Lord. May God bless His word in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
