TOPIC: STEPS TO DOUBLE PORTION 6: Ask Wisely

MEMORY VERSE:
Is. 61:7
“7 Instead Of Your Shame You Shall Have Double Honor, and instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs.”

BIBLE READING:
2 Kings 2:9-10
“9 And so it was, when they had crossed over,  that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for  you, before I am taken away from you?” Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.”
10 So he said, “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.”
“Ask! What may I do for  you, before I am taken away from you?” is the biggest question Elijah ever asked Elisha and to me, this is the only reason why Elisha has been following Elijah all the days of his life. The opportunity has presented it self, so, what will be your request? You know, many in our generation today will fail this question twenty times making unreasonable  request. Like blind Bartimaeus, when Jesus asked him what he wanted, he said “That I may receive my sight ” Luke 10:51. King Solomon was presented with the same request and He also got it right, 1 Kings 3:5.
May I ask you this morning, what do you want from your Elijah today? What do you want to receive as your birth right for all your services? Ask wisely. Many will ask for fame, wealth, riches, the death of their enemies, and many more, but for you, what will be your request? I think its time for us to be prepare for this important question before it pop up at us some day. You need to start searching for your response if you’ve not gotten one yet. What do you want me to do for you? Respond in a statement and wisely.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
