TOPIC: STEPS TO DOUBLE PORTION 11: Who Is Your Elijah?

MEMORY VERSE:
Is. 61:7
“7 Instead Of Your Shame You Shall Have Double Honor, and instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs.”

BIBLE READING:
Colossian 3:23-24.
23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,
24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the  inheritance; for a you serve the Lord Christ.
For the past eleven days we’ve been discussing about Elijah, Elisha and the Double portion.  Have I been discussing about your pastor being your Elijah? Yes, but more than that. Elijah is anyone ahead of you who you can learn from. Elijah might not basically means your spiritual Father, No, it goes beyond this. Your Boss in your workplace is your Elijah. As an apprentice, you have your Boss as your Elijah, in your profession, that man ahead of you is your Elijah. Your spiritual Father/Mother, your Parents, your uncle in your line of calling, all these can be your Elijah according to where God has placed you. I’m not just talking about church leaders alone here, I’m talking about being in service; serving under someone, all you should be after is receiving the blessings of your Elijah, that person you are serving.
Our Bible reading says, serve as if you are serving the Lord and not man” there is where your rewards lies. Serve wholeheartedly, in and out of their presence. Make it a point of duty to learn their strength and not their weaknesses, follow through and don’t be discourage by others. A servant today is trained to be a master tomorrow. Serve diligently today in order to be rewarded at due time with the double portion. No blessing for those who run from service.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
