TOPIC: LEARNING FROM KING DAVID 4: Wait For God’s Responses.
MEMORY VERSE:
Psalms 86:11.
“11. Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.”
BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 30:8.
“8. And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And He Answered Him, Pursue: For Thou Shalt Surely Overtake Them, And Without Fail Recover All.
The most important stage of this lesson is Waiting on God For Response, Yes, waiting for Him to speak concerning your request. David took the ephod and made his intentions known to God. He ask if God will grant him the privilege to go after those who raided his house and if he will be able to meet up and rescue all that has been stolen away. Then, He also waited for God’s response. How? By quietness, subduing all emotions and noises around. Forgetting about the intentions of his men and making God the focus. He wasn’t eager to leave the presence of the Lord, then, God saw his preparation and gave him the go ahead. He assured him, he will recover all.
We pray, we fast but we never waited for his Response before acting on our request. It’s like, we telling Him what we want to do and go ahead to do it without receiving His direction. We assumed He will follow our direction rather than we following His leading. Many times God is willing to let His mind known to us but we are not ready to hear him because we are not settled in heart. We are still under the emotion. We are focused on what to do instead of listening to His response. We present the issue but we don’t wait for the response. This year, let there be changes in our attitude to hearing God. We need to be more focus and wait for Him to speak before we leap. With this, we will subdue waste in all we do in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
God Morning and God Bless you.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
