Topic: ELIJAH AND THE THREE CAPTAINS 3: No One Desires To Go Down
MEMORY VERSE:
Psalms 75:7.
“7. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.”
BIBLE READING:
2 Kings 1:9-10
“9. Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down.”
10. And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.”
Our third lesson from “Prophet Elijah and the Captains” is, No One Desires to leave a better place. Nobody want to be dethroned at all cost, we all want to go higher In life, not going lower than where we are, so when you intend to bring others down, be prepare to go below than your present level too. Only a lazy man will give up easily when confronted to leave his rightful position.
Elijah used all that’s in his care to remain at His position. He refuse to go down according to the words of the captains. He decree that fire should consume everyone looking for his down fall, He made it a “No Mercy” battle. What are you doing to retain your position? To maintain your position in that marriage, place of work, environment and ministry, are you giving in to frustration or diabolic means? All you need to do is to hold unto God and retain your position. Do all you can to remain where God has place you in your calling. It took Elijah to sacrifice One Hundred And Two persons for him to retain His position. Go to God in prayers and fasting, and fight the fight of Faith to maintain, retain and move to the next position in life. Your position has an enemy eyeing it.
Good day and God Bless you.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitful Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
