TOPIC: DIVERSE SERVICES: Killers Of Call – DISTRACTION (13)
MEMORY VERSE:
Exodus 23:25.
“25. And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
BIBLE READING:
Matthew 14:3-5.
“3. For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife.
4. For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.
5. And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.”
May the good Lord grant us the wisdom to overcome the tricks of the devil against our lives in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
So far this week, we have studied some numbers of Call killers as ministers and servants of God. We started with; Comparism, Imitation, Love for Money, and Pride. Today we will be adding DISTRACTION to the killers of call. What do I mean, there is a saying that, “To Distract A Man From His Vision, Give Him A Vision That Looks Like His Vision”. Distraction from one’s calling will make such kill his calling. When you are called to be a servant and you started desiring taking over from your master, that is distraction. The focus has shifted from what you are supposed to do, to what doesn’t involve you.
John the Baptist wasn’t called to warn the king of marrying his brother’s wife but to proclaim the coming of Jesus Christ. Your protection lies under your calling. When you move out of your calling, you are out of the secret place of the most high. John the Baptist was locked up and beheaded because he was distracted, Matthew 14:1-10. Our safety is guarantee in our calling. Demas was distracted by the things of the world and he lost his place in God’s kingdom, 1 Timothy 4:10. Samson was distracted by women until he lost his childhood Nazarite, Judges 16:1. Watch out! What is distracting you from your God’s calling? Fetch it out and do away with it. Is it women/man, money, position, power, fame, wealthy or pride, do away with it for you to fulfil your calling. Remember what Jesus said in Luke 9:62,
“62. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
We will not look back in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
Good Day and God bless you.
