Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 21 Day (3) Tuesday, 21st May, 2024 TOPIC: SACRIFICE: Examples Of Burnt Sacrifice (3)

TOPIC: SACRIFICE: Examples Of Burnt Sacrifice (3)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 13:15-16.
“15. By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”
“16. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”

BIBLE READING:
Genesis 8:20-21.
“20. And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.”
“21. And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.”
Thinking Point.
Every Sacrifice has it’s uniqueness so does there effective result from God.
May we all win the heart of God with our sacrifices this week in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Do you know that God really changed his mind from placing curse on the earth which simply means, It’s neutralizes the initial curse placed in Eden? Yes, Noah changed this by his sacrifice. After the flood, the first sacrifice was done by Noah and what made it unique was presenting clean sacrifice which included, clean beast and clean fowl. He never used the defected beast nor premature fowls as sacrifice and this got the attention of God, the aroma changed God’s mind not the heart of man. In order word, the heart of men still remain wicked but he wouldn’t judge them with destruction nor curse the earth any longer, which implies, the world begins afresh (without a curse)
It’s not about making sacrifices but it’s uniqueness. The quality and the genuineness of the sacrifice is what matters to God. Every sacrifice must be special and different from one another in order to attract God’s attention. Noah presented clean sacrifice and God gladly accepted it. What are you sacrificing to God, profit made from ungodly source? A product of cheat, deceit, murderer, false witness or lies? They attract the anger of God not His blessings. It’s better not to present a sacrifice than to present an unpleasant sacrifice. What are you presenting as your sacrifce and how clean are they?
Good Day and God bless you.

TOPIC: SACRIFICE: Examples Of Burnt Sacrifice (2)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 13:15-16.
“15. By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”
“16. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”

BIBLE READING:
Genesis 4:3-5.
“3. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.”
“4. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:”
“5. But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.”
Thinking point:
Our sacrifice to God must portrait the best from our resource.
This week, we shall enjoy the best of God, be His ambassador that troubles the kingdom of hell in Jesus Name, Amen.
The first sacrifice recorded in the Bible was made by the Cain And Abel, the first set of procreation on earth. They deem it fit to give God their first sacrifice according to their income. Remember, sacrifice is a form of worship to God by releasing from our resources. Cain brought to God from His resources which is farm product while Abel brought the Firstly flock to God. This is the difference, Cain choose randomly from his farm product not real the best or the first fruit of his product while Able chooe specifically the first and the best of his flock for the sacrifice and God chose to accept the best sacrifice. Here, what God made known to us is that, I deserve the best not just the available. Our sacrifice to God may be small or big, but need to be the best we can offer from what He has provided to us. Cain was wrath because his sacrifice was rejected and God reached out to him. If God opens our eyes to see many of our offerings if acceptable or not, we will be disappointed that most givings are wasted sacrifices.
Don’t just make your sacrifice but choose the best out of His provision, this shows your love and understanding of what sacrifice is all about. Yes, Abel died after giving the best sacrifice but His sacrifice attracted God’s voice and we are all sure of where he is, in the Bossom of God. It’s my prayers that we shall offer acceptable sacrifice in Jesus name, Amen.

TOPIC: SACRIFICE: What Is Sacrifice? (1)

Psalms 116:17
“17. I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.”
Thinking Point:
If there’s anything God wants from us, it’s our sacrifice day in and day out.
Welcome to a new week and welcome to this new series. We shall be digging through the Bible to see What Sacrifice is, categories of sacrifice and how to offer them to God. Today, our focus is What is Sacrifice?
Sacrifice Is often referred to as ‘offering something valuables’ such as a valued animal or a portion of one’s possessions, to God as an act of worship, repentance, or thanksgiving. Sacrifices were a significant part of religious rituals in the Old Testament, symbolizing obedience and devotion to God. They were also seen as a means of atonement for sin, until Jesus’ was sacrificed on the cross, which we believers understand as the greatest and an end for any forms of blood sacrifice either for sins or thanksgiving. Sacrifice in the Bible can also extend to personal acts of selflessness and service to others, reflecting Christ’s example of sacrificial love.
Let me round it up this way, sacrifice entails giving, releasing, something willingly without persuasion. First of all, God is the first reasons for sacrifice. The first person to sacrifice to is God, our creator, the beginning and finisher of our faith, so therefore, every human is assigned to give sacrifice to God. Sacrifice is a symbol of Love, Obedient and appreciation to God first before anyone else. How sacrificial are you? Join me tomorrow as we move further in our study.
Good Day and God bless you.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE ROMAN OFFICER: Miracles Are Real (7)

MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 2:3
3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.

BIBLE READING:
Luke 7:9-10
9 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to the crowd that was following him, he said, “I tell you, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel!”
10 And when the officer’s friends returned to his house, they found the slave completely healed.
Thinking Point:
God can’t deny your taste for Miracle with a Good reputation.
Prayers, Fasting, Faith and Action are keys to the heart of God. These keys moves God to act on our behalf regardless of how big our requests may seems. These keys have been tested and trusted to be working effectively for many years in our walk with God. From another angle, we’ve seen from our study this week that, our reputation also have a key role to play in receiving from God. Accessing and receiving from God involves good reputation and love for others. The Roman Officer’s reputation spoke for him from the Jewish Elders to Jesus our Lord. What others see, know and say about us can determine the response of God to the cry of our hearts.
Today, I like to round up this series by saying, if prayers, fasting, faith and action has not be working, check out your reputation with men and God. If those prayer points are still the same, check your behaviour, is God rewarding your attitude to men rather than your request? Is your behaviour not working against your walk with God? Are your ways inline with the instructions of God? When our reputation is against the principles of God, God considers the principles not our prayers. Your answers are on the way if you will be truthful to yourself by changing your attitude to God and how you relate with human. All I know is this, Jeremiah said in Jeremiah 32:17,
17 “O Sovereign lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. NOTHING IS TOO HARD FOR YOU!
Your case can’t be too hard for God to handle, just handle your attitude and God will attend to your cry soonest.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE ROMAN OFFICER: Significant Of A Word (6)

MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 2:3
3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.

BIBLE READING:
Luke 7:7-8
7 I am not even worthy to come and meet you. JUST SAY THE WORD FROM WHERE YOU ARE, AND MY SERVANT WILL BE HEALED.
8 I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.”
Thinking Point:
Words Are Powerful Because It Has The Ability To Create Or Destroy Anything In The World.
A beautiful Friday for us all, may all our efforts for the week be crown with the blessings of God in Jesus name, Amen. From our lesson today I will like to teach on the “Significant Of The Word”. The Roman officer with his office understood this better in his days and that was why he imployed it. He told Jesus, “… and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.””. May I tell you this morning that, as Christians, we are under the authority of God and we also have authority over situations, pain, principalities and powers according to Luke 10:19, John 1:12. We have been endowed with powers to rebuke the devil. We are empowered to use our words to create commotion in the camp of the enemy and create peace around our lives but what we lack is the knowledge the Roman Officer had. Come to think of it, if Jesus had gone to his House, He will also speak a word to the servant for his healing, it’s not really the presence of Jesus that will perfect the healing but the word that Jesus will speak. We don’t need Jesus (physically) to come into our situation, we need His word either Logo or Rhema. What the word of God says is what we need not calling or running to pastors for healing and breakthroughs.
When the heaven and earth was created it was through the same word, by God. When you decided to get married, it was through the same word from your mouth that, “I want to get married”, “I want to study more”, “I’m going to the office”, “I need more income” whatever we say and work towards, even when it seems not to be real, we make it real. This is the power of the word in our mouth, we use it everyday in our activities but we fail to apply it to spiritual things. The same word is what we need to heal and encourage that fellow going through hard times, seeking for healing and breakthrough. We just need to speak the word, we have been endowed to do this, the power is within.
Lastly, the same word is what we use to destroy others when we use it negatively, why not use positive words for others instead of using it negatively? There is power in the word we speak likewise in the mouth of that servant of God over your life, understanding this will make us enjoy the profit there about according to Proverbs 18:21, which says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Our mouth has been empowered to decree and have it.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE ROMAN OFFICER: Knowledge About Faith (5)

MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 2:3
3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.

BIBLE READING:
Luke 7:6-7
6 So Jesus went with them. But just before they arrived at the house, the officer sent some friends to say, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself by coming to my home, for I am not worthy of such an honor.
7 I am not even worthy to come and meet you. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.
Thinking Point:
The level of our “Knowledge about Faith” is what determines the accuracy and speed of our miracle/result.
Our walk with God will yield positive result in all ramifications of our life in Jesus name, Amen.
Today, we are seeing what I call, “The Faith Knowledge” of the Roman officer, yes, it’s more effective. This knowledge puts you above every other contemporary striving for the same thing you are after. This faith’ knowledge was exemplified many times in the Bible during the time of Jesus. The woman with the issue of blood “…, For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.” Matthew 9:21.
Prior to this time, no one has touch the garment of Jesus for healing but her Faith Knowledge spur this up and she received her Mircale.
The Roman emperor had the Faith Knowledge of “the Word” of a man under authority. He told Jesus, “With My Knowledge Sir, You Don’t Need To Come Around, Just Say The Word And My Servant Will Be Heal”. As Christians, this is the level we need to operate in, knowing what our faith can produce because of the available presence of God. Not until the minister touches me before I’m healed. I don’t need to see the signs before I receiving my healing. What the word of God said may not be factual but Faith knowledge is seeing it real around our life before acting. We need to start operating in the level of Faith Knowledge like the Roman officer, the woman with the issue of blood, like the three Hebrew boys did in the face of fiery furnace. Jesus said, “if we have faith small as mustered seed we can move mountains. It’s time to upgrade our faith level. If it doesn’t fail one it can’t fail other.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE ROMAN OFFICER: Reputation Moves Or Stop God. (4)

MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 2:3
3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.

BIBLE READING:
Luke 7:6
“6 So Jesus went with them….”
Thinking Point:
“Most times, God responds to our reputation than our words and prayer.”
May God reward your good deals in Jesus name, Amen. There’s this word I like to say, that, “God doesn’t just listen to our prayers but he grant us what we deserve”. Yes, some Christian’s behaviour and attitude works against their desired life style. They do evil but seek God to do them good. They refuse to help or bless others but pray that God blesses them, that is not who God is. God is principled, what you make happen to others is what He makes happen to you not just your prayers. One can’t be a wicked soul and keep praying to God to protect him/her from evil, no, the only thing He will permit for such person is the law of karma. What people tells God about you is weightier than the request you place before God. Remember Galatia 6:7 which says,
“7 Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.” God isn’t partial, He is just.
God rewards seeds than our prayers, your reputation is much more important than your prayers.
The Roman Officer need not to pray for the healing of his servant. Jesus, hearing his reputation from the Jewish Elders was enough to move to his house. Remember Tabitha, named Dorcas, in Acts 9:26-42, she was not alive to speak for herself or pray, it was her reputation that Apostle Peter heard and he went to restore her back to life. Will our reputation move God to attend to our situations? Hope our helpers won’t be discouraged by our reputation? Let’s live a life that will move God to attend to us even when we are not praying. Our reputation moves God than our words, build good reputation brethren.

MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 2:3
3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.

BIBLE READING:
Luke 7:4-5
4 So they earnestly begged Jesus to help the man. “If anyone deserves your help, he does,” they said,
5 “for he loves the Jewish people and even built a synagogue for us.” (NLT)
Thinking Point:
Your Reputation from other’s view is what defines the real you not what you say about yourself.
Brethren, today shall be fill with result in Jesus mighty name, Amen. Learning further from the Roman Officer, after Meeting with the respected Jewish Elders, they all went to speak with Jesus about him. Mind you, many of the Jewish spoke against Jesus often in the temple and criticized His teachings but because of this Officer, they put aside their differences to meet with Jesus. They went straight to their point, gave a good reputation of this man, what he has done for the synagogue and many other things, they topped it up by saying, “if anyone deserves your help, He does”. What a reputation from the Jewish Elders to Jesus about a politician! This was very clear that, the Roman Officer gave listening ear to the Jewish Elders, he is a good man and respected by many if not all.
What you say about yourself is not as weighty compared to what others says about you, yes, you may have many haters but some will still defend you at all cost. Check around yourself, what are people saying about you? Jesus asked the disciples about His reputation, “Who do people say I am? … And who do you say I am? Mark 8:27-29. What people say about you may be their opinion, but from what many says about you too, you get to know your reputation. Even in your home, who do people say you are to your spouse, children, parent, friends and co-members in your department, what reputation do you keep? This can help you identify who you are and who you are meant to be. Your reputation is very important to who you will become.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE ROMAN OFFICER: Wealthy And Humble (2)

MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 2:3
3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.

BIBLE READING:
Luke 7:3
3 When the officer heard about Jesus, he sent some respected Jewish elders to ask him to come and heal his slave.
Thinking Point:
Position, Title, Mantle, Wealth and Power are all temporary, don’t let them control you, be Humble.
This week, the blessings of the Lord shall be released on us in Jesus name, Amen. As we continue with lessons learnt from the Roman Officer, our focus today is His Humility in approaching Jesus. With the caliber and position he belongs, he would have sent his servants to call Jesus to heal his servant. Wagons would have been arranged or enticed him with wealth so Jesus could come to his house but because of his humility, He went through the Jewish Elders to invite Jesus to heal his valued servant, this is humility displayed with wisdom.
How humble are we to others? Can we contact our men of God for such help and it will be granted without settlement and sentiment? Are we controlled by position, wealth or fame? With humility, he went to the respected Jewish Elders because of his rapport with them. They knew him as a respected Roman Officer, how are you known? What is our relationship with ministers, members and co-workers: arrogance? Humility has a lot to do for us than pride can do to us. Be humble, someone was once in that position before you, build good cordial relationship with your wealth, fame, position and title before you will handover to someone else. Humility pays more than arrogance.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE ROMAN OFFICER: Value Equally (1)

MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 2:3
3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.

BIBLE READING:
Luke 7:2
2 At that time the highly valued slave of a Roman officer was sick and near death.
Thinking Point:
Everyone has value no matter their level. What you don’t value is what you abuse.
Welcome to another wonderful week, the Lord, who grants success, will make this week a successful one for us all in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
This week our study will focus on “The Roman Officer”. As Christians, we have a lot of lessons to learn from this humble officer which shall be unfold this week. We shall start with the first lesson which is, “Value Equally”. Valuing everyone around our lives doesn’t involve much cost. Many of us place value on our families, relatives, children and spouse but look down on others even when they are older than we do. Some values their pastors, Bishops and Reverend above their spouse. That maid, gateman, gardener and cook needs to be valued also. The difference between you and them is the opportunity you had.
The Roman Officer had slaves and he valued them. The way he valued his slave was so great that he lost his peace when he fell sick. Brethren, how far do you value your staffs, workers, co-workers and family member? Stop giving value by position, everybody deserved to be honoured not until they become great or important. Value everyone equally, it won’t take away your honour.
