Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel
Week 48, Day 5:
Thursday, 30th November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Wise Answer For Wrong Accusations (12)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 1:15-16.
“15. And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.
16. Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto.”
We bless God today for seeing the end of November, may His name be praise for evermore.
Today, we shall focus on Hannah’s response to Prophet Eli’s wrong accusations. We saw how Eli misinterpreted Hannah’s reaction during prayers and called her names, but hear what Hannah said, she never gave response according to Eli’s conclusion but she enlightened Him of her present challenges. She gave wise response instead of negative response. Like the story in Matthew 15:22-28, of the woman whom Jesus called a Dog. She kept answering Jesus wisely till she received her blessing.
Brethren, most times we don’t need to prove our point when accused wrongly but to give the right answer with wisdom. Hannah’s response to Eli changed the mind of Eli and blessings was released. Not all accusations should be met with negative words or reaction. Always give a right answer according to Proverbs 15:1 which says;
“1. A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”
Let your answers turn wrath away not ignite wrath the more.
Good Day and God bless you.

Week 48, Day 4:
Wednesday, 29th November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Men Of God Aren’t A Spirit (11)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 1:13-14.
“13. Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.
14. And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee.”
Beloved of God, may the Lord refresh our spirit, soul and body in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
With the situation of things around the world, Men ( servants )of God are not left out from challenges. They aren’t immune to disappointment, depression and negative thought. What we feel as human, Ministers of God also feel the same, they are Men of God not Spirit of God. Blood flows through their veins as human, so they aren’t 24/7 spirit of God. Eli was in that situation during the time of Hannah. He wasn’t conscious of what was happening around Hannah. He insulted and berated her as drunk. Despite being to Shiloh yearly, probably Eli had no idea who Hannah was and what She was going through.
May i say this to someone today, that Minister may hurt you, speak against you or berate you, it’s because they have no idea of your plight not because they hated and want you down. Always know, the devil can use any vessel to stop your miracle, all you need do is to be focus and remain on purpose. Men of God can oppose your progress but with a determine heart, you can reach your goal. Stop seeing them as your enemy, just move on with your request and prayers and they will join you to celebrate.
Good Day and God bless you.

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel
Week 48, Day 3:
Tuesday, 28th November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Make Your Prayers Secret (10)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 1:12-14.
“12. And it came to pass, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli marked her mouth.
13. NOW HANNAH, SHE SPAKE IN HER HEART; ONLY HER LIPS MOVED, BUT HER VOICE WAS NOT HEARD: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.”
Welcome to another wonderful day filled with God’s good thought towards us, His presence will not elude us in Jesus name, Amen.
Today, we are discussing “PRAYING IN SECRET”. Our God is not deaf to hear our secret prayers neither does our shout hasten up our response from God. Jesus laid emphasis on secret prayers, when He said,
“6. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. Matthew 6:6.
This was the principle Hannah applied, she made her prayers secretly without letting anyone know her request to God. We don’t need to disturb others when praying, nobody is permitted to know your request to God. When your strategy is known then it can be attacked but when your movement or request is unknown to your enemy, your testimony will be sweeter like that of Hannah. Learn to present your request to God in secret and in details and the God who hears in secret will grant your request publicly. Praying silently or secretly isn’t the lack of spirituality but a way to get the mind of God directly and faster. Praying secretly and quietly is lovely.
Good Day and God bless you.

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel
Week 48, Day 2:
Monday, 27th November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Mistakes In Vow (9)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
Ecclesiastes 5:4-5.
“4. When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
5. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.”
Welcome to the first working day of the week. Our work this week, shall bring in the required profit in Jesus name, Amen.
The second point to know about “Vow” is this, make a vow you will pay not someone else to pay. Let your vows be what you can afford without involving someone else’s life. We bless God for Hannah’s life and her Vow, she made a vow and the payment of the vow was her first son, “Samuel”. Come to think of it, if Samuel grew up and said, “Mummy, that’s your vow not mine, am not ready to go back to God”, what will the situation be? Jephthah also made a vow to give God whatever comes out of his house after returning from battle and her only daughter was what came out when he was returning home with jubilation ,Judges 11: 30 – 35, what if her daughter had said, “I’m not a sacrificial lamb, go seek for someone else” how will the vow be paid?
Vow should be what you pay not someone else’s risk. It shouldn’t involve someone else or depend on someone life. When you make your vow never be too anxious of what to say. Vow is not dependent on the size but in the faithful remittance. You don’t need to move God with big vow rather achievable vow without someone’s consent. Our Bible reading said, “… pay that which thou hast vowed.” You are to pay your vow not someone else paying for you. Be conscious when making your vow, for God won’t welcome reasons for not remitting them. Be wise and reasonable when making your vows.
Good Day and God bless you.

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
Numbers 30:2.
“2. If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.”
Happy New week to everyone. May the peace of God that surpass all understanding guide our path and heart in Jesus name, Amen.
As we continue on the topic “Vow”, I”ll like to point out some common mistakes made about vows. The first is, Lack of “Documenting Your Vow”. This is common to most believers who indulge in vow. When vows are made but not documented, it’s easy to forget and not fulfil it. When the vow takes longer than we expected, we tend to forget our commitment. To perform better in your exams all you need do is to read your lecture notes, likewise, to fulfil your side of the Vow you need to write down what the vow is all about and your commitment. If the scripture encourages us to document our vision why can’t we document our Vows with God? I like you to sit down and have a rethink on those vows you made but are yet to be fulfil because you couldn’t remember them. Document and fulfil them so God wont be angry at you. King Solomon said in, Ecclesiastes 5:5.
“5. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.”
Pay your vows.

Week 47, Day 7:
Saturday, 25th November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Specific Vow (7)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 1:11.
“11. And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.”
Happy weekend to everyone, may the Lord bless our effort with good fortunes in Jesus name, Amen.
Hannah went straight to God by passing every other links to Him. She utilized the opportunity to speak her mind to God. The scripture said, “She Vowed a Vow. What is a vow? It’s a personal commitment to God. Vow is an agreement between you and God, a promise to be fulfil when the other fulfils his or her part. We will spend sometime on the topic “Vow”. Hannah made a commitment that God couldn’t resist but to fulfilled in the course of time. Untill you get to this level in your life, you might not be ready for what you desire. Hannah clarified what she want, what She will give in return if it’s done.
Her request; ‘Give me a son’, not a daughter (specific request).
Her responsibility; I will give Him Back to you, and no razor will touch his head.
Have you find yourself making vows and yet to be fulfilled? Was it detailed? How specific was it? I hope you didn’t attach a time frame? We can’t force God with a time frame but we can move God with our commitment. Hannah said, “I will give Him Back to you”, what is God going to benefit from your vow, was it included? Go back and check your vow, it might just be a prayer point and not a vow. Be specific with your vow and spell out His benefit for doing it, that is a Vow.
Good Day and God bless you.

Week 47, Day 6:
Friday, 24th November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Go to God not Human (6)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 1:10.
“10. And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.”
We Thank God for another weekend, may His name be praise forevermore. I decree this morning, every bitterness in our lives will receive the presence of the Almighty in Jesus mighty name, amen.
“Going to God not Human” is our focus today. When the season becomes darker, tougher and difficult to handle the best person to turn to is God. When the mockery become tensed and reproaching, put the source aside and go to God. No matter the love and encouragement, turn to God for a change of story. Pour your heart to God in prayers, not complain, grumble or murmuring of what men has done but on what you want God to do.
Hannah deemed it fit to reach out to God directly. She separated herself from her family, both the encourager and the discourager, and went to God to pour out her mind. Enough of listening to reproach and mockery, go directly to God. Enough of going to men of God and prophets, go to God directly. Jesus is our channel to God not human. Hannah left Eli, the priest, at the entrance of the Tabernacle and went straight to God. Go to God, the access is free. Remember Apostle Paul’s word, and I’m leaving you with that.
Philippians 4:6.
“6. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Week 47, Day 4:
Wednesday, 22nd November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Take Care Of yourself (5)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 1:9.
“9. So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk….”
A blessed Thursday to everyone this wonderful day, may the Eye of the Lord lead and guide us in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Our Topic today seems natural and simple but it’s one of those steps being neglected when it comes to challenging times. Eating and Drinking; people find these very difficult when going through situations. They avoid eating not because of fasting, they keep saying,”i have no appetite”, “I lost my appetite” “I don’t want to eat”, Hunnn, this is very dangerous. Food is not the cause of those challenges neither will it stop them. Yes, you may fast but fasting shouldn’t be too much also, eat and drink enough for strength and hydration. There’s a saying, “If you don’t eat your food like medicine, you will take your medicine like food”. Finding an appetite to eat is very crucial.
I’m not undermining the place of fasting and prayer, please get my point, but starving yourself isn’t the way out. Eat regularly when you’re not fasting. The scripture said, “So Hannah rose up after they had EATEN IN SHILOH, AND AFTER THEY HAD DRUNK….” Still, she was barren, she wasn’t fasting even at shiloh, you need to keep fit.
Meanwhile, ‘drunk’ isn’t talking about alcohol, talking about enough water for hydration regularly. Eat to gain enough energy, stability and strength to always be equal to your game. Stop starving yourself in the name of going through some challenges. When fasting also, let there be enough time to eat and drink enough water and Non-alcoholic drink. It’s best to remain fit always. May we be wise in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 47, Day 4: Wednesday, 22nd November, 2023. TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Encourager or Discourager? (4)

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel
Week 47, Day 4:
Wednesday, 22nd November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Encourager or Discourager? (4)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 1:8.
“8. Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons?”
We thank God for giving us the breath and light of a new day again, To Him always be the glory forevermore, Amen.
Today’s devotional is a litmus test question to every reader, Are you an Encourager or a Discourager? Do people like to talk to you when faced with challenges? Does your words bring healing or wounds? Does your spouse prefer speaking to outsider than speaking to you? Does your Boss seeks information from your subordinate instead of you his direct assistance? Your words need to be checked if it brings injury or peace of mind.
Elkanah was the only and best encourager that Hannah could have gotten and He was always available to encourage her, despite the second wife’s mockery. She had no child to play with or send on an errand, but Elkanah was available. When you speak, does it bring peace of mind? Do people want to listen to you speak or they avoid your talks? Are you like Job’s friend or Barnabas? Change your words. Try to be a shoulder one can lean on in times of challenges. Be that Elkanah and not Peninnah everywhere you find yourself.
Good Day and God bless you.

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 47, Day 3: Tuesday, 21st November, 2023. TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Privilege Not A Right (3)

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel
Week 47, Day 3:
Tuesday, 21st November, 2023.

TOPIC: 1st Samuel 1 Study: Privilege Not A Right (3)

MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 6:10.
“10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 1:6-7.
“6. And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.
7. And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat.
A blessed day for you in Jesus name, Amen.
Third point to note from our study is, “Seeing situations As Privilege Not A Right”. Most benefits we received or earned are not our right, they are not product of knowledge, wisdom or education they are all privileges. Haven’t you seen people with better qualifications, beauty or wealth than you do but lack the privileges you are enjoying? Some times we conclude it’s their sin, may i ask you, is it your righteousness or faithfulness that earned you all you had? No they are privileges.
Peninnah had children while Hannah had none. She felt it’s her right to have them but not the right of Hannah to have any. She never saw it as a privilege but a right. The Bible said in Psalms 130:3
“3. If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?”
Mocking, Reproaching and abusing others about their predicament is a sin, so how do you want to proof that you’re righteous? All you have, earned/acquired are product of privilege not your right so, stop using it against others. Mind you, privileges can be withdrawn by the giver, be careful how you use your privileges. When you reproach others for what they lack, let it ring in your heart that, i have it isn’t my right either, it is a privilege and i have to be grateful for it.
Good Day and God bless you.
