Saturday, 21st October, 2023.

TOPIC: Paul’s Admonition: Grieve Not The Holy Spirit (7)

MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 2:12.
“12. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

BIBLE READING:
Ephesians 4:30 – 32
30 And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.
31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.
32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
Welcome to the last day of the week, as we round up our topic with, Grieve Not the Holy Spirit, this is the last admonition from Apostle Paul to us this week. Every action of believes will either grieve or bring joy to the Holy Spirit. As a child of God, we possess the Holy Spirit in us at redemption, it’s a seal upon us and we are to walk according to His dictates. The Holy Spirit won’t lead one into bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words and all evil act, these aren’t His qualities but being kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, walking in peace and pleasing God always, these are His qualities, any other act aside these will grieve the Holy Spirit.
From our studies this week, these acts has been discussed, so if we will walk with Him by avoiding those act we will enjoy His presence daily otherwise He will be grieved. Above all, we need to learn forgiving one another regardless of the offences, since we were all forgiven by God through Jesus Christ our saviour. To enjoy the presence of the Holy Spirit is to avoid acts the piss him off, letting go of every act that leads to bitterness. I pray, may we be able to walk in accordance with the Holy Spirit in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Good Day and God bless you.

BIBLE READING:
Ephesians 4:29
29 Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
Welcome to today’s devotional and i wish you a restful weekend. As we continue to dig deep on Apostle Paul’s admonition to the Ephesus which is also paramount to us as believers, our focus today says, “Guard Your Tongue”, watch what you say, let your conversation be positive to heal wounds not to create wounds. This days, it’s very hard to differenciate believers from the world, our words has become similar to that of the world. We now copy from the world not the world copying from us. Our words has no positive effect, even when two believers speaks it lacks encouraging words. Apostle Paul is saying, let our words be helpful not hurtful, let our words be encouraging to every one who hears it. Speaking from the perspective of faith, induced by the word of God, brings healing but when we speak according to what’s happening around us, it brings more danger and create more fear to the hearer.
It’s time to speak and walk by faith. It’s time to encourage ourselves and others. We need to justify what the word of God says and speak from that perspective to ourselves and others. Foul words, abusive words, discouraging word and fearful word need to be replaced from our heart with the words of faith, yes, it might not be easy but the righteous shall live by faith. Make it your goal to be positive in your words and the Holy Spirit will enable you to live that life in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Good Day and God bless you.

MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 2:12.
“12. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

BIBLE READING:
Ephesians 4:28
28 If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need.
Today’s word from Apostle Paul’s admonition says, “Be Hard Working to be Generous”. Apostle was encouraging us not to be lazy and depend on others. We shouldn’t take advantage of others by denying them the enjoyment of their hard earn fruit. Yes, as christians, we need to be spiritual and also work with our hand to be a blessing. Taking advantage of others by stealing, robbery, begging and forcefully taking what belongs to others doesn’t make us a follower of Jesus Christ. We are to live by the works of our hands, being diligent at what God has assigned us to do as work. There is something God has enabled you to know how to do without frustrating others.
As Christians, we are to be a blessing not a burden. We’re to be responsible father, mother, brothers and sisters. God didn’t call us to frustrate others but to lift and comfort one and other. Let him/her that thief quit stealing and work his/her hands, carter for his/her household and also be a blessing to others in need. Get up and do something with your hands and brain, in doing that is what the blessings of the lays.

MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 2:12.
“12. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

BIBLE READING:
Ephesians 4:26-27
26 And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,
27 for anger gives a foothold to the devil. (NLT)
Blessed day for us all in Jesus Mighty name, Amen. Let me share some questions this morning, have you been in a situation where people criticized you for getting angry as a believer? They mocked you for being angry at their evil act against you or others? May i tell you today that, it’s not a sin to get angry at evil or opposition but uncontrolled anger is what becomes sin. Even our God gets angry, Jesus got angry, but it was controllable. When you’ve become a christian, after surrendering your life to God, you need to work on your anger, you need to be in control of your anger. Apostle Paul said uncontrolled anger lead to sin not controlled anger. The second part is to let your anger go off quickly. Don’t hold onto that anger, say your mind and release yourself from that situation. Anger should be for correction not for quarrelling.
David said in Psalms 4:4,
“4 Don’t sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent.” (NLT)
We can get angry but it should be under our control. Speak what you don’t want, what you disagreed with and let it go. Uncontrolled anger is what leads to sin not anger itself. Put your anger under control and give the spirit a consistent place in your life.
Good Day and God bless you.

MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 2:12.
“12. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

BiBLE READING:
Ephesians 4:25
25 So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body.
Beloved, welcome to a brand new day. May i ask you this morning, how often do we tell lies? How difficult is it for us to speak the truth in any situation, to our children, spouse, parent, co-workers, boss, even our pastor or church members? Lie is one of the most easiest thing to do and one of the deadliest sin to commit. Apostle Paul admonish us to avoid it, to stay away from it. Lies looks small and very simple to commit but it has its side effect also. Naturally, lies break trust, kills love, destroy dignity when it’s expose. If I may ask, when we speak the truth, how does it affect us? Come to think of it, whatever you lied about is a sin, it’s not always right. We speak lies to cover up lies and the more we keep doing this the more we find it proper and become consistent with it.
Let’s get this truth, when we tell lies, we fear men more than God. We are afraid to put God first. We think of what men will do than how God feels about our actions and words. The fear of the Lord should be put above all else. Be truthful in all your communication, feel free to speak the truth no matter the situation. Any situation that warrant otherwise apply wisdom and keep your lips close. As christians our word should be held in high esteem and not will levity. All we need is to start it right away, avoid telling lies and the Spirit will guide us through in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

BiBLE READING:
Ephesians 4:23-24
“23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.
24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.”
Good day and welcome to todays message. Yesterday, we discussed about departing our old nature, that it is not a magical process but individual responsibility. Today, we are going indepth on to how to depart that old life which is, to live according to the spirit, changing the thought in our heart, changing what we do daily that grieves the Holy Spirit. Remember, we are to do it ourselves then the Spirit enables us to remain in it. We need to identify those old ways and walk against it.
Galatians 5:16.
“16. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
It’s our responsibility to walk away from those thought, imagination, bad friends and old ways in order to walk in the Spirit. We have to put on the new nature as if we are putting on a cloth to live a righteous and holy live. What do you need to work on in order to walk according to the spirit? Negative thought against others, your spouse, evil intentions towards other, it’s time to start fighting it. It’s time to resist it and walk righteously and live a holy life. To be a Christian is to work it out yourself.

BiBLE READING:
Ephesians 4:21 – 22
21 Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him,
22 throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception.
Welcome to this new week devotional where God will be speaking to us about our salvation. Be ready to be truthful, be a reader and a doer of God’s admonition, because God will be speaking about our life styles.
Our focus this week is base on Apostle Paul’s
admonition. Yes we are born again, we belong to a church, head of department or active member of a unit but do we still retain our old life? Did we really change from old to new creation? Are we still holding on to those sinful nature of ours? What really changed in your life when you become a Christian?
Most times we quote 1 Corinthians 5:17, which says,
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
But, it’s not a magic, it is ‘a working’. It’s a decision to change from the old life, that was why Apostle Paul still said, “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” It is a working not a magical process. You have to stop those old ways and walk in the new way. We have to stop the flirting around, smoking, drunkenness, and waywardness, backbiting to be a new creation. Let me end with this, Do you have any difference in your life since you accepted Jesus Christ as your lord and saviour, if yes, congratulations, if no, you need to start working out your own salvation to become the new creation of God. Depart your old ways.
Good Day and God bless you.

Saturday, 14th October, 2023.

TOPIC: GOD HONOUR SACRIFICE: What To Sacrifice – Your Praise and Service (14)

MEMORY VERSE:
Psalms 4:5
“5. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.”

BiBLE READING:
Hebrews 13:15.
“15. By him therefore let us offer the SACRIFICE OF PRAISE TO GOD CONTINUALLY, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”
Welcome to our last study on the topic “GOD HONOURS SACRIFICE”. We’ve studied what Sacrifice is, Pest to sacrifice and we are rounding up with “What To Sacrifice”. Another sacrifice we can give to God is the Sacrifice of Praise – the Product of our lips, what comes out of our month intentional about what God has done, what He is doing and what He will do.
Psalms 100:4, says,
“4. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”
David speaking about Sacrifice of Praise, not specifically meant to be in the church or sanctuary but everywhere we are. Entering His gate means to start your day with Thanksgiving and let His praises be in your mouth every moment. Our sacrifice shouldn’t be a day or monthly thing. It can be in our house, everyday, any moment, just to show God gratitude for who He is and what He has done. Hebrew 13:15 said, “By him therefore let us offer the SACRIFICE OF PRAISE TO GOD CONTINUALLY.” Sacrifice of Praise is not time bond, its should be continually, daily without any reason of withholding it back from God. It’s not financial bond, just from your lips and your heart. As we do, may our sacrifices be a sweet fragrance to God in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel
Week 41, Day 5:
Thursday, 12th October, 2023.

TOPIC: GOD HONOURS SACRIFICE: What To Sacrifice – Your Resources (13)

MEMORY VERSE:
Psalms 4:5
“5. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.”

BiBLE READING:
Acts 4:34-37.
“34. Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35. And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
36. And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,
37. Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
It’s a blessed day for everyone today in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. We continue on ‘What To Sacrifice,’ – Our Resources. When we say our resources most times we think of money as the only resources, it’s beyond finances. It involves material things, clothing, food, kindness, cars, houses, gift and so on. Also, sacrifice can be direct and indirect to God and men. God may direct you to give sacrifice to an individual, a group, his servant or a church. Most times sacrifice come in form of meeting a need.
Sacrifice can be giving directly to God like King Solomon did, Abraham sacrificing Isaac, giving off one’s possession to the church to meet an urgent needs. God may direct you to bless His servant with your best possession, it’s a sacrifice we need to carry out without contemplating because, every request of God has an available replacement. God will never request for what will arm you but what will lift you. What is the sacrifice God is demanding from you? Is it that cloth, shoe, car, house, salary, employment or bus for the church or school. It’s always good to make sacrifices when demanded than to regret after the lost. I pray for divine wisdom to respond to godly Sacrifice in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Good Day and God bless you.

“5. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.”

BiBLE READING:
Romans 12:1.
“1. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, THAT YE PRESENT YOUR BODIES A LIVING SACRIFICE, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Welcome to another day, it shall answer to what you call it in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. In continuation of our topic on “God Honours Sacrifice”, we shall be digging into what we can sacrifice to God. The first of it all is Our Body, the carrier of man, the symbol of human. For anyone to enjoy God, the first thing to sacrifice is our body. Let me surprise you with this, God has no control of our body, we are in charge of it. We use it as we desire. God won’t carry you, it’s your responsibility to move, tame and control your body.
Apostle Paul encourages us to present our body to God as a living Sacrifice, in order word, our body should be Holy and acceptable to God. Our body houses the Holy Spirit of God, (1 Corinthians 6) so it needs to be sacrificed to God for His use. Our body involves our mouth, eyes, ear, hand and leg which should be what pleases God. When our body is sacrificed to God, it’s use for His will. Have you sacrifice your body to the Lord?
