TOPIC : TEACHINGS ON GIVING: Giving To Parent (6)
MEMORY VERSE:
Acts 20:35.
“35. …, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
BIBLE READING:
Ephesians 6:1-3.
“1. Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
2. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
3. That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.”
Our focus today is Giving To Parent, not as duty but as a blessing. Giving to parent is more blessed than other givings because God recommended it with a blessing. As parent, their focus was to bring up a child in the way of the Lord and prepare them for a better future so that these children can reciprocate this gesture when they are grown and the parent are retired so to say.
According to King Solomon in Psalms 127:3-5, children are the hope of parents at old age. They are to stand the gap between their parents and their enemies, these are our responsibility, but aside these, we are to make them happy by presenting to them special gifts, buying them things that reduces stress and brings conveniences- exercise equipment and domestic aid machines can go a long way.
Most excuses we make are,
1. Let me be rich enough before buying them what I desire. It might be too late, give what you have when you have it.
2. They don’t ask for it. Likewise Your spouse doesn’t ask for everything before you gift them.
3. They have everything. That’s not true, check around you’ll find what they lack and need.
4. They have no time for pleasure. Buy them new cloths, dress them up and take them out, they’ve been waiting for it.
Most time, they need our time, just sitting with them and having good time is part of the gifts we can give. Giving to parents makes God releases His blessing on us.
Good Day and God bless you.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
