TOPIC : SENSITIVITY IN FAMINE 6: Be Proactive In Something.

MEMORY VERSE:
Kings 17:2.
“2. And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,”

BIBLE READING:
Genesis 26:12-14.
“12. Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.
13. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:
14. For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.”
God has promises and covenants for His sons and daughters. He Keeps to His declarations towards us but most times we put all our burdens on Him to carry for us (and stay idle). We pray and fast but wait for Him to lift our loads while we stand to look at Him afar off, that prolong our stay in famine. Every principles of God demands our contribution for the fulfillment. Yes, there’s famine but there’s something we can do to turn it around.
God told Isaac to stay in the land of Gerar where there was famine instead of going to Egypt. But Isaac, in a foreign land, started planting and became a farmer. He was diligent in doing something and the scripture said, “He sowed and received a hundred folds harvest, still in famine. You can’t just fold your hands and wait for God to put things to work for you. You need to be diligent, sell what you have. What’s the skill you have? What do you know how to do? Put it to work to generate God’s blessings. God doesn’t bless nothing, He blesses something. Find something reasonable to do, to sell, to deliver and you will be putting an end to famine in your life.
Good Day and God Bless you.

TOPIC : SENSITIVITY IN FAMINE 5: Thanksgiving Attitude

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Kings 17:2.
“2. And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,”

BIBLE READING:
Matthew 15:34-36.
“23. And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
35. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
36. And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.”
Today’s lesson is from our Lord and maker, Jesus Christ. Seeing how He handled the situation when the resources available was less compare to the present need. There was over four thousand people to be fed after listening to Jesus’ message. He fed them with spiritual meal but the physical needs also needed to be attended to and the situation was compare to famine. Jesus asked what was available and the disciples said, “Seven loaves of bread and few fishes.” When it was handed over to Him the scripture said, “And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks.” Thanksgiving in famine brings increase, it changes limited resources to surplus. Over eight thousand souls were fed with seven loaves of bread and few dishes.
In famine, we need to learn to thank God. Yes we need Faith that things will be fine. We need prayers but above all we need to keep thanking God because He always hears us, He is the El-shaddai, all sufficient God. When we thank Him, He glorifies Himself. How often do we thank Him in famine? It’s time to always remember to say, Thank You Jesus For You Know Better.
Good Day and God Bless you.

TOPIC : SENSITIVITY IN FAMINE 4: Don’t Doubt Prophecy

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Kings 17:2.
“2. And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,”

BIBLE READING:
2 Kings 7:1-2.
“1. Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
2. Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.”
If there’s another area where sensitivity is needed during famine, it when God’s servants prophesy, don’t joke with it. Yes, many prophets has been framing the word, “Thus saith The Lord”, but at that, don’t oppose it even if you won’t believe it. When God speaks, it always come in doubtable form, which is the reason why God is not a man. Many people are faced with serious famine and still reject the prophesies of God’s servant.
Elisha made a decree with the word, “Thus saith the Lord” during famine and someone who taught he knows more than God said, how can it be. He should have laughed like Sarah did but he opened his mouth to oppose a prophecy, don’t do that. If there’s anything you need now, it’s what God is saying concerning the present situation, don’t doubt any prophecy. Let’s think this together, if a prophecy comes and it’s not fulfilled in your life, you’ve loose nothing but if it’s establish according to the word then, that’s all we need. The right hand man of the king attracted curse on his head while others kept quiet till the prophecy was fulfilled. Don’t doubt prophecy even if you don’t believe it.
Good Day and God Bless you.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to  those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

TOPIC : SENSITIVITY IN FAMINE 3: Famine And Relocation.

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Kings 17:2.
“2. And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,”

BIBLE READING:
Genesis 26:1-3.
“1. And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.
2. And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:
We’ve established the fact that, famine doesn’t signifies being forsaken by God. It’s natural for famine to come upon a nation and individuals which we will deal with during this topic. But when Famine arises, we said we need the voice of God to know what to do. When famine set in, many relocate from their residence, leave their marriages, their jobs even the country, thinking that will bring an end to famine. Relocation can’t end famine when God is not involved.
When their was famine in the land of Gerar, God visited Isaac in the dream, told him, you don’t need to relocate like your father did, just stay here and I will bless you and make you great. Not all famine need relocation. All you need is God’s instructions on what to do. God will always guide His children who ask for direction. When Jezebel threatening Elijah, without seeking for God’s instruction, he began to run to no specific location until God came asking,
1 Kings 19:9
“9…., behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and He said unto him, WHAT DOEST THOU HERE, ELIJAH?
Meaning, what are you doing here? Why did you left your rightful position? You don’t need to run for famine, all you need do is to ask him for direction. God is asking many of us this morning, “WHAT DOEST THOU HERE?” It’s time to return to Him for direction and stop running without a location.
Good Day and God Bless you.

Week 29, Day 2:

TOPIC : SENSITIVITY IN FAMINE 2: Sowing In Famine

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Kings 17:2.
“2. And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,”

BIBLE READING:
1 Kings 17:11-12, 15.
“11. And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
12. And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
15. And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.”
When famine becomes the course of the day, what to listen to is God’s instructions. What is God telling me to do? What’s the way He’s leading you through? In famine, after the brook dried up, God still gave Elijah another instruction to go to a widow, (with the last meal for her and her son). When Elijah got there, he told her to give me water and come along with a meal, but the widow quickly responded, ‘the last meal was meant for me and my son’. But in her lack and needy, she went on to sow her last meal to Elijah first, then she and her son. The scripture says, they never lacked food till rain fell on the land.
When in famine, it’s a season to sow from what we have left. The widow made Elijah’s meal first, served him and ate with her son for day. During famine care for others even when you have little left. Sow seeds to those who needs more than you. Be a solution to other in your famine and see what God will do in your life. She obeyed the instructions even when it was very strange and dangerous but that was the end of famine for her household. What you eat or keep is not what sustains you in famine, it’s what you give and release to others. So, find what to sow in that famine.
Good Day and God Bless you.

BIBLE READING:
1 Kings 17:2-4.
“2. And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
3. Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
4. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.”
I welcome you to this new week, may God make it a fruitful week for everyone in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. We shall be focusing on “Sensitivity In Famine” as our topic for the week. Is God aware about famine? Yes. Will the righteous be exempted during famine? Yes, then How? By being sensitive to His instructions before and during famine. God is perfect in making ways in difficulties. He specialises in creating escape route in difficult times. Today, our focus is yielding to His instructions even when it seems impossible. God’s instructions may seems negative when in difficult times. Harkening to His specific instruction is always a way out of famine.
What God is saying in that famine is what singles you out of the famine. When His children are going through famine God is not please. He is forced to give instructions that will change situation but most times we are not ready to listen. Elijah declared famine and instantly God spoke to him, “And the word of the Lord came into him”, what is the Lord saying? God gave him a specific direction. Until we listen to His word during famine we will be wasting in Famine. May I ask you this morning, what is God saying to you in famine?
Good Day and God Bless you.

Week 28, Day 7:
Saturday, 15th July 2023.

Topic: YIELDING TO GOD 7: Yielding It All

MEMORY VERSE:
Romans 6:16.
“16. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

BIBLE READING:
1 Kings 19:19-21.
“19. So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.
20. And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?
21. And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him.”
As we round up our study for this week, we shall be considering Prophet Elisha who yielded it all to follow Prophet Elijah. He gave it all and ran after Him to pour water in His hand. Total yielding to God is what makes us greater in the purpose of God for our lives. Going further than others will go. When the mantle of Leadership rested on Elisha, he begged Elijah to wait for him as He closes up His Business and followed Elijah to be the next world prophet.
Mind you, not everyone will be called to this type of yielding, some will be called to yield them selves to Him totally while they retain their personal jobs. Apostle Paul was called to yield it all also but He was still a tent maker who cared for himself and those with him. Elisha fully yielded to Elijah till death separated him. All we need to know is this, Is God calling me to yield it all by following Him? We’ve seen mathematicians, Medical Doctors, Architects, Engineers and other fields who yielded it all. Which area is God asking you to yield it all? Time to search out and do the needful like Elisha. Yielding it all brings the highest fulfillment in life.
Good Day and God Bless you.

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 28, Day 6: Friday, 14th July 2023. Topic: YIELDING TO GOD 6: Yielding To His Will?

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel
Week 28, Day 6:
Friday, 14th July 2023.

Topic: YIELDING TO GOD 6: Yielding To His Will?

MEMORY VERSE:
Romans 6:16.
“16. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

BIBLE READING:
Jonah 1:1-3.
“1. Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,
2. Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.
3. But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.”
Yielding to the will of God is another aspect we’ll need to check. Nobody is left out of this area, either a minister or a believer, young or old, this yielding is paramount to us all. From our case study for today, we saw how a Prophet of God decided to yield to His will rather than the will of God. He was appointed to go to Nineveh to deliver a message of repentance to the city but he went to Tarshish instead, why? Not because he was afraid or fearful but he wanted the destructions of the city because of their attitude and behavior.
How often do we find reasons not to go the way of the Lord, carrying out His Will because we have a hurt against a fellow. In anger, envy, jealousy we disobeyed God’s instructions to be of help to others, to be a solution to many and this has put us in the belly of a Whale like Jonah. How often do we try to teach God what to do than to do His Will? Yielding to His will for our lives is paramount than our ambitions. Are we sure we’re not in this situation we found ourselves because we decided to go our own way against His Will? We can always go back to God as Jonah did and seek for His Mercy to fulfill His Will for our lives. Yielding to God’s Will is what we should strive to do.
Good Day and God Bless you.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel
Week 28, Day 5:
Thursday, 13th July 2023.

Topic: YIELDING TO GOD 5: Yielding Of Body?

MEMORY VERSE:
Romans 6:16.
“16. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

BIBLE READING:
Romans 12:1.
“1. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
By Yielding our mind to God it places us under the control of the Holy Spirit, it makes our mind reason in the way of the Lord but this will not mean our bodies are delivered from the world. When our mind is yielded to God our body also need to yield to God. That was why Jesus said in Matthew 26:41,
“41. Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
The Mind is ready for God’s instructions, but the body is weak because it’s hasn’t yield to God. When you feel like fasting, the body gives reasons not to fast, that’s the body yet to yield to God. When you feel like praying, the body shows you the bed, that’s a body yet to be controlled by God.
Apostle Paul said, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, THAT YE PRESENT YOUR BODIES A LIVING SACRIFICE, HOLY, ACCEPTABLE UNTO GOD, which is your reasonable service.” Meaning, yield that body to God in order to carry out the things of God. Surrender your body to God totally, then you can overcome the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and pride of life, 1 John 2:16.
A Body yielded to God won’t yield to sexual temptation, robbing or cheating others. Let’s Yield our body to the Lord, so He can use it for His purpose and that is what He wants from us. Father help us yield our body to you in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Week 28, Day 4:
Wednesday, 12th July 2023.

Topic: YIELDING TO GOD 4: Yielding Of Mind?

MEMORY VERSE:
Romans 6:16.
“16. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

BIBLE READING:
Romans 12:2
“2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Yielding to either God or devil has it’s origin in the mind. The mind is the foundation of every occurrences we see happening around us today. What goes on in the mind determines what happens in the physical. Who and what you yield your heart to determines who and what controls it.
Apostle Paul said we should not be conformed to this world, you may want to ask, but we are in the world? Yes, we are, but we are not to think like them. A referee is on the pitch of play with other footballers but with a different mindset. What the players considers fair play is different from what he sees as fair play. He is on the pitch but thinks differently from them. That is how it is when a mind is yielded to God. We are to separate our minds from the ways of the world. Our mind must be guided by the things of God and not of the world. Yielding our minds to God makes us walk and live like the god we are created to be. When we think the way the world thinks, we become what the world becomes; evil, heartless, wicked, selfless and selfish. To yield your mind to God you need to guide your sight, ears and heart because those are the entrance to your mind. Guide them jealously.
Good Day and God Bless you.
