“5. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Until we declare our emptiness to Him we might not have Him in our lives. He living in us is what brings productivity in life, when we are without Him we will achieve little or nothing compared  to the fulfillment of our destiny. Until we realized that without Him we are nothing before we begin to amount to His purpose for us. We might not see Him, feel him or hear Him speak to us directly, but we need Him more than the air we breathe. When we have Him in us we enjoy peace regardless of the turbulent in the world. We enjoy success when we have Him in us. Divine Direction is our heritage when He dwells in us. We enjoy His leadership when He is with us, but one thing is this, we need to let Him know we need Him. We need to cry out to Him beyond our Daily Devotion. Beyond going to church activities, we need to thirst for Him.

Prayers.

Father, am in deem need of you in my life at this moment. I can’t go on without you leading me anymore. “So, I Need You In My Life Today.” Come in me and take you place, in Jesus Mighty Name I Pray, Amen.

5. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

A question was raised some years back that, “How do you measure the prayer life of someone?” Everybody kept answering in diverse way; through speaking in tongues, vibrating while praying and many more, after all answers, the teacher said, nothing can be use in measuring the prayer life of a person. Shouting while praying or speaking in different tongues isn’t a measure for one’s prayer life, it’s can only be through/by the result. Someone may be praying and very far in thought, speaking in tongues and still lusting over visible things. But Jesus showed us how our Father recognizes a Prayerful life, He said, is by praying in the secret and the reward will be revealed in the public. 

Another principle to have access to God’s heart is by praying in the secret, in your house with doors locked. Not by shouting in your room, not by disturbing others while praying, so they can know you are prayerful, No, prayers rendered to God in the secret will not  be distracted or truncated because no one knows you are even praying. You can pray on your bed while lying without disturbing anyone. You can walk around in your room without making a sound, just you and God speaking to each other and you enjoy direct access to him because he sees secret prayers and reward them openly. Can you dedicate some minute to do that today? Pray in the secret to have a direct access to God.

7. And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.

8. And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. 

One of the reasons we are denied access to God is that, we feel we are not qualified to be in His Presence or speak to Him. We set bondries for ourselves which God never place between us. We see ourselves as unworthy to call on Him because of some disobedience to His word, but God knows us in and out.

Hebrew 4:15-16, says,

“15. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

16. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

He knows we are feeble and dust. He knows our frame but still gives us the grace to relate with Him.

David was ready to fight against God’s people, Israel, in 1 Samuel chapter 29, but God stopped him from going to war with his people. Then He was sent back home and found out that ziklag has been plundered. In his situation, He still found the boldness to approach God, who he was ready to fight against His people, and requested for the permission to go after the raiders who raided his town and God gave him the go ahead. He would have been nursing the sin of fighting against God’s people and refuse to ask for God’s leading but he accessed the throne of God despite  his former actions. All you need do is to handover the situation to God even when you feel you are not in tune with Him. He is still very much available to hear and grant your request. Stop denying yourself access to God. He is waiting for you call.

1. In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.

2. Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD,

3. And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

4. Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying,

5. Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

To have a direct access to God, another key that works is by recounting your services to God. God is a record keeper. He has in stock every details of our lives and we can use this services to gain direct access to His heart when ever we need Him. It is uncommon for God to change His word but we can change His words and decisions concerning us when we have the right keys in our disposer.

King Hezekiah was told to put his house in order because he won’t escape the present sickness. Isaiah delivered the message and left the King, I believed he was mourning the king already, but The King faced the wall and spoke to God directly. He reminded God of His services, his good works and his walk with God, That’s the key. God remembered that he was right and gave him an extra fifteen years in addition. The King would have spoken with Prophet Isaiah to pray on His behalf but He chooses to use the direct access to God. Do you have that key to get  direct access to God? What have you done for His Kingdom to give you a direct access to? It’s time to locate and use it to gain access to God.

“1. And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.”

Before Jesus came to the world, there is what is called the Holy of Holies which was a veil separating the altar (congregation) from the Holy of Holies. Only the priest are allowed to access this place where every request and offerings are presented to the Lord. Despite this separation, many still made use of the temple of God to gain Direct Access to God. 

How was is possible for Hezekiah to gain this access? By a broken heart, totally surrendered to God. After Hezekiah heard the message from King Sennacherib, He went into the temple of God with a Broken Heart. He didn’t wait for weekly service nor fellowship of the brethren. He went directly into the temple of God not minding if there was service or not. Many believed you don’t appear before God until service days, that’s very wrong. To gain direct access to God, you need to appear in His Presence, with a broken heart, this shows how ready you are to put God to work. 

Most time, direct access to God is personal; individual and not basically general fellowship. When was the last time you appeared before God to present your challenges in His sanctuary? How often do your present your request with a Broken Heart? We need to utilize His presence always and often, not just on fellowship days. Present your request In His sanctuary with a Broken Heart.

9 Once after a sacrificial meal at Shiloh, Hannah got up and went to pray. Eli the priest was sitting at his customary place beside the entrance of the Tabernacle.

10 Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the lord.

11 And she made this vow: “O  lord of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the lord, his hair will never be cut.”

This week, I want to encourage everyone to tap the “Direct Line” which has been made available to us right from the beginning of the world. This Direct Line was even made easier when Christ came to the world to bridge the gap between us and God. He gave us the access to use His name to have Direct Access to God.

Hannah, before the coming of Jesus, made use of this Direct Line and things changed for her. She saw Priest Eli in the temple, but made use of the Direct Access to God. Most times we seek for who to speak to God on our behalf. We pour out our pains and anguish to men who can do nothing about it and they ended up encouraging us and watered it down without taking it to God. Hannah has experienced such in time past but this time around, she made use of the direct access to God. Poured out her mind to God not the Priest nor her Husband. She told God why He needed to bless her with a child, a son, which is to return Him back to God. She was specific and direct, “Give Me A Son And I Will Give Him Back To You And His Hair Will Not Be Cut”

I’ll like you to use the direct access today. Go to God with that burdens, with crying and pour out your mind to God with a vow to keep when God answers your request. I’m not saying you give God a time frame, No, Hannah never did that. I’m not saying you put a big or gigantic vow up to motivate God to do it, No, just a simple but meaningful vow to show your commitment to Him. A Vow you can fulfill and let it be documented so as not to forget when things changes. Use this direct line for that challenge you are faced with and God will never disappoint you. This week, your prayers with meet the right responses in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

God is a Refuge and Strength to all but not with sinners. Sinners are not allowed into the Refuge of God, although God didn’t hate sinners but the sin in them. Permit me to say this, Being a church goer, worker, department leader or even minister doesn’t guarantee that one is not a sinner, it’s a change in attitude, from following the way of the world to following God’s way. It’s not what you do on your own, it’s the influence of the Holy Spirit which comes upon you after you welcome Jesus Christ in to your life.

God want all to be in His Refuge, that was why Jesus came to sacrifices His life for us. He died for our sins, He paid all our debts in order to bring us back to our source, the only thing standing between us is our sins; our way of life which is the pattern of the world. Living according to

Galatians 5:19-21, will stop one from enjoying the privileges of the Refuge of God. How can we access this privilege? Is by confessing and renouncing our sins to God, and accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. No sin is too big or too much for God to forgive, once you have made up your mind to accept Him and confess your sins and never turn back to them, then you are on your way to God’s Refuge. If you will turn to God by accepting Jesus Christ today, pray this prayer with me,

Lord Jesus, I recognize you as the saviour of the world. I believe you came to save me even while I was yet to be save. I confess my sins today, (name the sins) and I renounce them from my life. I welcome you into my life from today on, to be my Lord and Saviour, to be in charge of my life, I surrender my life to you totally, take over in Jesus Mighty Name, I have prayed, Amen.

If you pray this prayer, go any Bible Believing church around you and serve God wholeheartedly. Avoid any traces to your old life, and you will be on your way into God’s Refuge.
