TOPIC: WHAT TO DO AWAY WITH IN OUR LIVES 7: Control Your Tougue

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Tim. 6:11
“11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue  righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience,  gentleness.”

BIBLE READING:
James 3:5-8
“5  Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.
7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and  creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind.
8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.”
Our tongue might be one of the smallest part of our body but its effect is more than any other parts. It’s enclose by the mouth but can’t be controlled by it. Every words of a man can’t be uttered without the tongue, as important as our words are, so dangerous is it if not being controlled properly.
A man’s tongue can destroy and/or make him, depending on how it’s being used. God want us, His Children, to use our mouth for His Glory and nothing less. Our tongue need to be tamed and this can be done by the Holy Spirit of God. Many are where they are today all because of their tongue, either for good or for bad. King Solomon said,
“21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue,  And those who love it will eat its fruit.” Prov. 18:21.
The life of God is in our tongue when we use it for God and death is also in it when we use it for the devil, what are you using it for? An untamed tongue is a lying tongue, gossiping tongue, false witnessing tongue, home scattering tongue, destructive tongue, and evil tongue. To win over sin, our tongue need to be tamed often.
James 1:26, says,
“26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and  does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.”
Our tongue has a significant effects on our walk with God. When we speak negatively always, it’s a prove of negative tongue which can’t obey God’s word nor follow His leading. Your tongue determines where you get to in life both spiritual and physical. How are you using your tongue?
God Bless you and Good Morning.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

TOPIC: WHAT TO DO AWAY WITH IN OUR LIVES 6: Control Your Anger

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Tim. 6:11
“11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue  righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience,  gentleness.”

BIBLE READING:
Psalms 4:4
“4 Don’t sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. (NLT)
Many will want to ask if it’s possible not to get angry as  Christians, my answer is capital No, it’s not possible not to be angry but, it’s very possible to control the anger because uncontrolled anger leads to danger, destruction and sin against God. One thing about uncontrolled anger is this, it’s makes you the guilty even if you weren’t guilty from the unset. Solomon said,
“22 An angry man stirs up strife, And a furious man abounds in transgression.”
Uncontrolled anger stirs trouble, if as  Christians we’re now creating trouble, are we Christ like? Are we preaching Christ to other? No. David said, “Don’t sin by letting anger control you.” In other words, control your anger, don’t give your anger chance to rule over you, know when to talk and when to be quiet. Quiet doesn’t make you a fool but a person in control of his/her anger.
Apostle Paul have this to say about anger,
“26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath,
27 nor give place to the devil.” Eph. 4:26-27.
We are free to speak when man act stupidly so that they won’t take us for a fool and an idiot but we need to know how to present our words in order not to pass the information across with hurting words. We need to be able to control our temper when expressing ourselves. Hope your anger hasn’t get a better side of you? If it does, you need to seek for forgiveness in order not to grieve the Holy Spirit, Eph. 4:30, which is our seal in God. Make all effort to put your anger under your control always, may we be willing to submit to the Holy Spirit at all time in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

TOPIC: WHAT TO DO AWAY WITH IN OUR LIVES 5: The Pride Of Life

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Tim. 6:11
“11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue  righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience,  gentleness.”

BIBLE READING:
1 John 2:16-17
“16 For all that is in the world — the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and THE PRIDE OF LIFE — is not of the Father but is of the world.
17 And the world is passing  away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
“I can do all things through Christ who  strengthens me”, Were the words of Apostle Paul. Regardless of His apostleship and anointing, he never took the grace for pride, He saw God working in and through him always. When we see ourselves as the reason for the happenings around us, pride is in charge. When we profess ourselves better, higher, wealthier and greater than others we confess our pride. Don’t get me wrong, there is self esteem but there’s pride. Pride is taking the glory of God to one’s self. Pride, prove to others that, “I got here all alone”. Pride is using your God’s given gifts to oppress, suppress and depress others. When you see what God has done through you as your act just like King Nebuchadnezzar, you may be on the path to the bush like Him. When you help others and proclaimed it in the air for others to know, pride of life is your garment. When you look down on others instead of helping them, God is preparing your down fall. Little wonder why the Bible says,
“But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”
Believing, God is in us, working in us, working through us, and working for us is the way to overcome pride. You didn’t made that person God did through you. You don’t have what you earned, heaven gave it to you. Stop the “Me, I and Myself” mentality. You are nothing without God. Ministry grows with the backing of God. Marriages works with the backing of God. Business prevails with the backing of God. Surrender yourself into God’s hand and learn to return all Glory to Him always. Swallow your pride and be humble.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
Happy Birthday to all celebrants and Happy Wedding Anniversary to those celebrating today. May you experience God’s fruitfulness in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

In technology, we’ve been made to understand that three things are involve in the use of computer, we have Input, Processing and the Output. God is the founder of all technology, His design is what technology is based on. Every thing He created has an Input, Processor and Output devices. Many parts of our body serves as an Input and many still serves as output while the mind is our processor. We will focus on our main input device as human, which is the Eyes. What we see goes along way to determine everything that happens around us. The easiest and fastest input device is our eyes. That you admire something doesn’t mean you must acquire it except it’s in line with your purpose and vision in life. Until you can control what you take in from what you see, you will always lust for what you don’t need.
To be greedy starts from your sight, fornication and adultery is from what you see. Covetousness and the rest are products of lust of the eyes. When we see and try to control it before reaching your processing organ (mind) then, you can overcome the lust of the eyes. See everything but go for what will glorify God in your life and other’s lives. Run from what you don’t need that your eyes is forcing you to do.
God Bless you and Good Morning.

TOPIC: WHAT TO DO AWAY WITH IN OUR LIVES 3: Lust Of The Flesh.

If there’s another thing God will want us to do away with, it’s the “Lust Of The Flesh”. This has cost many Christians not to be different from the world. Lust of the flesh is the reason for body/ plastic surgeries, costly wears (at the expense of other’s need), body revealing cloths and hair styles without decency. Christians has been carried away in order to look like the ungodly celebrities, going extra mile to spend extravagantly beyond one’s limit. Lust of the flesh has taken us out of the will of God which is moderate dressing. Churches has become a place of fashion where lladies and men compete to be the best, hardly do they listen to the messages being preached in the service but searching for who looks beautiful than them. Many lust over opposite sex’s body, what doesn’t belong to them and leads them out of the will of God.
Lust of the flesh is the reason for comparison between parent, comparing their children with others, forgetting that every child has different destiny. You want your child to tread the same path others tread because you love what they become. You want your spouse to be what they are not meant to be. Walking and living in Lust of the flesh leads one to destruction even right on earth here, and then in eternity. God is speaking to someone reading this today, it’s time to desist from walking and living in such life, for God is more interested in you than you can think of. Which area are you lusting over the flesh? It’s time to make an amendment.
God Bless you and Good Morning.

TOPIC: WHAT TO DO AWAY WITH IN OUR LIVES 2: Effect Of The Love Of Money (Part 2)

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Tim. 6:11
“11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue  righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience,  gentleness.”

BIBLE READING:
1 Tim. 6:10
“10 For the love of  money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
The love of money as discussed yesterday have a way of influencing one’s life badly. When it’s in charge we hardly make good decisions in life. Some effects of Love Of Money is what we are digging out today.
1. Greediness.
The love of money is the reason for fraudulent attitude. When this love is in you, you never mind who gets hurt for you to make money. It brings desperation in making money at all cost. All you think of is taking advantages of others. Does this fit you? You need to take a deep thought and change your ways.
2. Wickedness.
Love of money brings hatred, wickedness, even when the money is available. It makes one good in hurting others including your relative. They hardly give cash for help without collecting something in return. Denying wages of your workers for flimsy excuses. When you find yourself doing this, check yourself.
3. Pride.
Another litmus test for love of money is Pride, you feel you are above all, you talk anyhow, believing everyone can be bought over, you are possessed by the Love of Money. This makes you believe you know how to do things without God. The scripture says, pride goes before destruction. You need to check yourself and go back to God.
4. Lastly, it makes you see God as unimportant. Can you imagine the clay feeling bigger than the porter, is that really possible? Remember you do not own your life,, someone is the Ultimate and over all.
May we not find ourselves fulfilling the dictates of money over lives in Jesus name. Let’s stay careful
God Bless you and Good Morning.

TOPIC: WHAT TO DO AWAY WITH IN OUR LIVES 1: LOVE OF MONEY (Part 1)

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Tim. 6:11
“11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue  righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience,  gentleness.”

BIBLE READING:
1 Tim. 6:10
“10 For the love of  money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
I welcome you all to this new week, it shall be filled with good testimony for us all, Divine Settlement concerning our desires in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. We will be digging into the scriptures this week to see what God will want us deal with in our lives, things we are engross with that we actually need to do away with, first of it is “The Love Of Money”. This has been the tool in the hand of the devil against Christians, God’s servants, even our politicians who profess to be Christians. The love of money has taken over the heart of men. Many marriages are being scattered as a result of it, children are becoming wayward for love of money, workers become corrupt because of it, as a result of this, our lives has not been pleasing to God.
You will want to ask, is it possible not to love money? Yes we can, when money determines your action, attitude and your behaviour you are a lover of money. How you relate with the less privileges determine if you love money. Money should be our slave not our master, it should be a tool to achieving things in life not to frustrate others. The Bible said “The Love of Money” not money itself but the love of it is the root of every evil. Are you controlled by money? When you are in control of little cash who do you become? Ananias and Sapphira lost their life all because of the love of money. Hope your money hasn’t make God secondary in your life? It’s time to start controlling money and not the other way round. I pray today, may God give you control over money in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
God Bless you and Good Morning.

Week 36, Day 7:
Saturday, 3rd September, 2022.

TOPIC: WHY UNANSWERED PRAYER? 7: Inconsistent In Prayers.

MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 4:6.
“6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and  supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”

BIBLE READING:
Luke 18:1-8.
1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,
2 saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who  did not fear God nor regard man.
3 Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’
4  And he would not for a while; but afterward he  said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God  nor regard man,
5 yet because this widow  troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ”
6 Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust  judge said.
7 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?
8 I tell you that He will  avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the  Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the  earth?”
Our last point for the topic, “Why Unanswered Prayers?” Inconsistency in Prayer, Yes, Inconsistent in Prayers. As a parent you will understand better what i’m saying here. When a child is in need of a gift, you know how they pester you until you say yes, if we can apply this to our prayer lives none of our responses will be delayed. As we pray fervently and committedly our prayers will be answered. We pray about a need and relent in our prayers, we quit early enough to let God think we don’t need it desperately. As the saying goes, “Quitters are Losers” when you quit in prayers, you lose in receiving the response. Many would have received their result but they give up so early in the place of prayer and start searching for alternative way.
Our Bible reading was an illustration from Jesus Our Lord and Saviour. He was speaking about the consistence of the woman. How she was desperately disturbing the Judge until the judge got tired of her request and attended to her. Likewise, When Daniel was praying to God, it took twenty-one days before the angels could respond to him ( Daniel 10:10-13) unlike previous times when he received responses immediately. What if he has given up in praying? What would have become of him? Are you still praying to God on that same point or you’ve concluded to seek for other means? God is never tired of hearing our prayers, he’s looking for men and women who will remain strong in the place of prayer. Don’t be tired, don’t give up. Your prayers will be answered in Jesus name, you will begin to harvest your responses, no more delay in Jesus precious name, Amen.
God Bless you and Good Morning.

TOPIC: WHY UNANSWERED PRAYER? 6: Praying Without Listening.

MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 4:6.
“6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and  supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”

BIBLE READING:
Habakkuk 2:1-2.
“1 I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected. 2 Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision  And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.”
Christians of today likes to attack  situation with “Fire Bridge Approach”, we want everything done sharp sharp but refuses to follow the right path. We pray consistently, fervently and wholeheartedly but we never give God the chance to speak to us. We rush into prayers and rush out of prayers, sometimes we start the prayer so well but ends it on our way out or in a hurry and refuses to hear from God.He has a lot of responses prepared for us but we are not attentive to hear Him. God is ready and willing to speak to us consistently but we already left where we prayed ( the place of encounter), we do not listen when we pray and this is one of the reasons for unanswered prayers.
Habakkuk poured out his mind to God. He asked questions and was ready to hear the response from God, He said, “I will wait to hear what He will say to me” and God did spoke to him because He was expecting God’s response, He was ready to hear Him. Until we develop the habit of listening to God after pouring out our mind to Him, our prayers might look like unanswered prayers. We need to be attentive to hear Him after speaking with Him. Our minds, eyes and ears needs to be alert during and after praying to God so we can reap the harvest of our prayers. Can we practice this from now on? We will hear Him speak to us daily and always, and the answers to our prayers will be swift. Listen while praying and after praying, God is speaking to you instantly.
God Bless you and Good Morning.
