TOPIC: PRESENT YOUR CV 2: What Have You Done?

Memory Verse: Isa 41:21
“Present your case,” says the LORD. “Bring forth your strong reasons,” says the King of Jacob.”

Bible Reading: Isa 38:2-5.
“2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the LORD,
3 and said, “Remember now, O LORD, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what is good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
4 And the word of the LORD came to Isaiah,  saying, 
5 “Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will  add to your days fifteen years.
Your Curriculum Vitae is what will define you before God and man. Without it no one will know our ability. God sent Prophet Isaiah to inform King Hezekiah of his death, meaning it’s a concluded matter. Isaiah couldn’t intercede for him neither did God gave any condition to change the situation, so it was a done deal. But the King faced the wall and presented His CV to God.
“3 and said, “Remember now, O LORD, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what is good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
God remembered how he did carried out these acts faithfully. He wasn’t grumbling about what He said, he went straight to the point and wept bitterly. God had a flash back at his CV and gave him his request.
Do you have anything to present to God as your curriculum vitae? When Evil showed up what can you use as a collateral to get back your desires from God? Do you have any work to present to God? Can you mention how you’ve worked for God with a faithful heart? What’s your highest qualification to present to God? If you have it, i think it’s time to present it for that situation stirring at you tody. Present your CV to God to receive that desire of yours.

Bible Reading: Acts 9:39-41
39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him to the upper room. And  all the widows stood by him weeping, showing the tunics and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them. 
40 But Peter put them all out, and knelt  down and prayed. And turning to the body he said,  “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she  saw Peter she sat up. 
41 Then he gave her  his hand and lifted her up; and when he had called the saints and widows, he presented her alive.”
It’s a blessed week for us all in Jesus Mighty name, Amen. For every employment opportunity, we need to present our proof for the post being applied for. We need to convince our employer on the reasons why we are most qualified for the Job. Likewise, God also need us to present our Resume to Him as a proof that we are qualified for that request of ours and those promises yet unfulfilled in our lives. One of the best way to present our Curriculum Vitae to God is through “Recommendation By Others”, Yes. You get the job when an insider recommends you for the offer.
This was the case of Dorcas, Tabitha, when she was dead. Peter never heard of her before that day, but some people gathered to recommend her to Apostle Peter. They brought him in from Joppa, as if that wasn’t enough, the widows presented her certificate while she was alive, these in turn convince Apostle Peter that, such vessel can’t be left unemployed and He brought her back to life by the Power in the name of Jesus.
Can someone present your CV on your behalf? If they do, what will be recommended for you? Will God consider your request to be granted?  Our memory verse said, “Present your case,” says the LORD. “Bring forth your strong reasons, (CV)” says the King of Jacob.” Can your case release your request? Who is presenting your case?

Bible Reading: 1 kings 12:8-11
8 But he rejected the advice which the elders had given him, and consulted the young men who had grown up with him, who stood before  him.
9 And he said to them, “What advice do you  give? How should we answer this people who have spoken to me, saying, ‘Lighten the yoke which your father put on us’?”
10 Then the young men who had grown up with him spoke to him, saying, “Thus you should speak to this people who have spoken to you, saying, ‘Your father made our yoke heavy, but you make it lighter on us’—thus you shall say to  them: ‘My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s waist!
11 And now, whereas my father put a heavy yoke on you, I will add to your yoke; my father chastised you with whips, but I will  chastise you with scourges!”
You can either go far in life or remain stagnated depending on those that surrounds you. People you mingled with can bring problem or success into our life, who are your friends? Which company do you keep? Your company start with your spouse, colleagues, friends and family friends, who are they and What are they offering you? Walking with them for years, has it changed your life for good or worsen it?
King Rehoboam’s company caused the revolt and separation among the twelve tribe of Israel through wrong advise. They advised him wrongly and he foolishly harkened to them which led to Rehoboam loosing ten tribes of Israel to Jeroboam. Mark 2:1-11, talks about a paralytic man with good company who brought him to Jesus through the roof of the house and Jesus healed him because of their faith. When your company doesn’t increase your faith in God, in your marriage and work place, you need to be wise and work on your company. Who are you speaking to and who are your advisers? Stop the problem in your life by changing your company.

TOPIC: SOURCES OF LIFE PROBLEM 5: Disobedience to God

Memory Verse: Romans 12:18

Bible Reading: 1 Sam. 15:3, 8-9
3 Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not  spare them. But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’
8 He also took Agag king of the  Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
9 But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the  sheep, the oxen, the fatlings, the lambs, and all that was good, and were unwilling to utterly destroy them. But everything despised and  worthless, that they utterly destroyed.
When one is guided and led by God, the most dangerous act is to disobey God’s instructions. This can be disastrous because, it gets God angry when His beloved disobey Him. Moses did and lost the land of Canaan. Abraham disobeyed God by not waiting which stopped God from speaking to him for thirteen years. Disobedience to God’s instructions can lead to rejection.
King Saul disobeyed God by not carrying out His instructions to destroy the Amalekites. He selected the best of the cows and spare King Agag. This made God rejected him as king over Israel. Hope you’ve not found yourself in that problem as a result of disobeying God? That marriage, business, calling that seems not to be working, is it according to God’s instructions? Where you are presently did God sent you there? Whatever your case may be, God can still save you if you are willing to obey Him. May God give us the grace to obey Him diligently, Amen.

Bible Reading: 2 Kings 5:10-12
“10 And Elisha sent a messenger to him,  saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.”
11 But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, “Indeed, I said to  myself, ‘He will surely come out to me, and  stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.’ 
12 Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage.”
Naaman was a great man, a warrior, highly placed and respected by the King of Syria. Through him that Lord has wrought many victories to the Syrian. Despite all his honour he was leprous. He couldn’t leave amongst men, he must be excluded from the city. His great achievement has raised him higher, that makes him look down on anyone even the God of Israel. He had a slave girl from Israel who told his wife about Prophet Elisha. At the end of it all, he landed in Elisha’s house. Then his ego stood between him and his healing. He felt disgraced when Elisha sent a servant to him, couple with going into a dirty river to take his bath. Naaman would have died a leper if he hadn’t stoop himself low.
Your pride can lead you into problem, bring destruction in that speciality of yours. It can make God look away from you. Always know that, you don’t have everything and others have many things you lack. Your pride can deprive you your next level in life. Don’t be an ingrate because God has lifted you. Work on your ego before it brings you down permanently. Don’t create unnecessary problems for yourself because of God’s blessings on our life.

TOPIC: SOURCES OF LIFE PROBLEM 3: Your Sight – Your Focus.

“21 Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent. 
22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside….  
24 So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him.”
The Mouth, the Brain are what we’ve seen as some of the sources of our problems, which can also serves as sources of Joy and happiness to us when used wisely. Today, we focus on our Eyes as another source of problem to us which can also be a source of lifting, breakthrough and greater expectation if well used. 
God told Abraham in Genesis 13:14-15, saying,
“14 And the LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “LIFT YOUR EYES NOW AND LOOK from the place where you are—northward,  southward, eastward, and westward; 
15 for all the land which YOU SEE I give to you and your descendants forever.” So, our eye can also be a source of encouragement and breakthrough to us.
From our Bible Reading today, we saw how Ham’s eye brought generational problem on him by seeing the nakedness of His father, (although not really his fault but his father), nevertheless, this brought him problem till date. His brothers would have done the same but chooses to use their eyes wisely. What you focus your attention on can lead you astray and cause destruction. Greediness, adultery, fornication, lost of the eye and other sins can be traceable to what we see, which becomes our thought until we act on them.
How do you use your eye? Do you see admiration or envy other’s properties? Do you control your focus or you allow your focus to control you? Do you see the good side or the bad side of things? Think on what your focus can bring to you before they lead you into problems of life.

12 “How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! 
13 FOR YOU HAVE SAID IN YOUR HEART: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation  On the farthest sides of the north;
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’
15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit.
The thought of a man’s heart determine his falling or rising. You can’t become something different from your thought. Your thought determines your actions. Prov. 23:7 says, 
“7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.  “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.”
The source of the devil’s down fall was his thought, “what he was thinking in his heart’ not what he has done. Do you want to avoid problem in life? Change your thought. Stop thinking evil about yourself and others. The judgement of God is very fast about evil. Let your heart be renewed and think positively, progressively and successfully. Your thought determines your problem or your peace of mind.

“3 He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.”
Life is full of troubles here and there. Each day has it’s full loads of problem but we can be exempted from it all if we avoid them. One of the easiest means of escaping from problem is the way we make use of our mouth; what comes out of our mouth day in day out can either deliver us or put us into problems. How are you using your mouth, to lift up or to bring down? To destroy or to build? What we say with our mouth is what governs our lives to the future. If we can guide our mouth we can save our future.
2 Sam. 1:14-16
“14 So David said to him, “How was it you were not afraid to put forth your hand to destroy the LORD’s  anointed?”
15 Then David called one of the young men and said, “Go near, and execute him!” And he struck him so that he died.
16 So David said to him, “Your blood is on your own head, for your own mouth has  testified against you, saying, ‘I have killed the LORD’s anointed.’”
When you use your mouth against others, you are attracting problem for yourself. When you gossip, back bit, complain with your mouth, watch it problem is becoming your permanent residences if care is not taken. Watch your mouth and you will be preserving yourself destiny.

TOPIC: WEEK OF PRAYER, DAY 6: Deliver Me From All Evil

Memory Verse: Gen. 26:22

Bible Reading: Exodus 1:22.
22 So Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, “Every son who is born you shall cast into the river, and every daughter you shall save alive.”
When God is ready to save you, no tactics of your enemy can catch God on aware. God is always ahead of everyone, so He can’t be outsmart. The Lord made the midwives preserved the Life of Moses from the hand of the king, then he tried another means of getting Moses but he still ended up a failure, no matter how your enemy try hard this year, they will fail in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Moses was born during that season and he escaped the negative plans of the King, God delivered him miraculously. He was in the river but wasn’t killed nor drown in the river.
Pray with me this morning,
1. Every strategy of my enemy against my destiny this year shall fail.
2. There will always be a way of escape for me and my household this year in Jesus Most precious name, Amen.
3. This year, I will fulfill destiny, come what may, in all ramification, so shall it be in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
