TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON 6: Self Discovery

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12.
“12 There is a way  that seems right to a man, But it’s end is the way of death.”

Bible Reading: Luke 15:17-19
“17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread  enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,
19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”
What a good day for the prodigal son. A day that would have come earlier when he was wealthy and young. According to a Yoruba saying, “Without suffering you can’t be wise”. Until you go through some hard time in life, you might not realise the real you. After lavishing all his wealth, he came back to his senses. He remembered how the slaves in his father’s empire do enjoy better things than how he was then. He discovered he is not fit for where he is, he’s been wrongly placed. This is the beginning of transformation.
We are where we are because we’ve not realize the real person we are meant to be. We seems to be enjoying where we are because we are not aware of where we are meant to be. Until we realise who we are, where we are meant to be and what we are called to do, we will always accept everything that comes our way. All we need do is to think of how we’ve been living our lives and ask God to make known who we are meant to be. When you discover something is wrong with the way you are, then your transformation is about to start. Are you at the right place? Are you fulfilling destiny? Is anyone following or
admiring your way of life? Are you a motivation to someone or a discouragement? As this word come to you today, I decree and declare, may you discover your placement in life in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Good Morning.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON 5: Self Affliction

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12.
“12 There is a way  that seems right to a man, But it’s end is the way of death.”

Bible Reading: Luke 15:14
“15 Then he went and joined himself to a  citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the  swine ate, and no one gave him anything.”
The prodigal son squandered his wealth. He lavished his inheritance in a far country without a mentor and experience, and he suffered for it. He inflicted himself with suffering. He became a slave in a far country where he was once honoured. I pray for someone today, may you not be the cause of your affliction in Jesus Mighty name, Amen. There at home was his brother, who was seen as a fool, working day and night, having no room for pleasure, but still had his inheritance untouched while he who taught he’s wise is now a slave to people he could feed some times ago.
Many Christians has fallen victim of affliction. They’ve afflicted themselves with some curses in the name of enjoyment, wealth and position in the name of being opportune to help people and they couldn’t deliver. The way we treat others, how we talk arrogantly, (even some men of God are not left out). Everything we do today is either afflicting us or blessing us. Many are placed where they do not belong all because of the way they treated others in time past. What is that ego controlling you? What do you have that makes you feel above the heavens? Remember, everything that goes up can comes down. Stop using your today against your tomorrow. Use every opportunity well in order to build a good tomorrow. A rich man today can still become the poor man tomorrow and can become more richer, don’t be a victim rather a victor. God bless you all.
Good Morning.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON 4: There Will Always Be Famine Time

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12.
“12 There is a way  that seems right to a man, But it’s end is the way of death.”

Bible Reading: Luke 15:14
“14 But when he had spent all, there arose  a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want.”
When the prodigal son had abundance he forgot about famine. When he left his father’s empire, he thought the wealth will remain for life. He felt he will be richer than his father in the next few years. He never learnt the strategy to make and sustain wealth until he learnt it in a hard way, I pray with someone today, may you not learn in a hard way in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
I want everyone to know this, since there is day and night, there’s raining season and dry season, there is mountain and there is valley, there will also be season of abundance and famine, no one can escape these two seasons. If you have in abundance today, prepare ahead for the days of famine. If you are highly place today, prepare ahead for a low or no placement. If you are nobody today, prepare to be lifted soon. If you are single today prepare to be married soon. Always remember you will never remain in that position for life. Prepare ahead of where you are. The prodigal son didn’t prepare for famine and he believed things will remain the same. Take this lesson today,  prepare for the next season no matter the season you are now. God bless you.
Good Morning.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON 3: Resource Waster

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12.
“12 There is a way  that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.”

Bible Reading: Luke 15:13
“13 … and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living.”
There is an adage in Yoruba tongue that, “What you don’t labour for doesn’t last longer in your hands.” Meaning, you tend to waste what you don’t labour for. Every income that are not genuinely acquired always fly away in the hand of a prodigal son. That is why, you always loose what you don’t value or worked for. That was the case of this younger spoilt child. The scripture says, “and there he wasted his possessions with prodigal living.”
May i ask you, how are you living your life, “let’s finish it today another will come tomorrow” is that you? The wealth is too much I don’t even know how to use it? Are you that spouse that waste resource with friends and irrelevant things and forget your spouse and children at home? May be you care about your family so much but neglect your parents and planing to spend Billions of naira at the burial? God is never happy with a waster. When you  abuse what you have, you are a waster. When you refuse to help people with your position and power, you are a waster. When you do unlawful things with that wealth you are a waster. I hope you are not one? It’s not too late if you belong to this circle, you can still turn around by investing in business and human life. If the prodigal son had helped people with his wealth, someone would have remembered and help him up again. Stop being a waster.
Jesus us against waste, in John 6:12, He said,
“So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that  nothing is lost.”
I pray you understand that area that Lord is speaking to you in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON 2: Wrong Decision

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12.
“12 There is a way  that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.”

Bible Reading: Luke 15:13
“13 And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, …”
Yesterday, our discussion was centered on “Wrong Request” made by the younger son of a wealthy man. Today, we will focus on the “Wrong Decision” the prodigal son made. The wealthy man granted his son according to his request. He divided His wealth into two and gave him his portion. He spent some days after receiving his inheritance and left his source; his mentor and boss, he departed from his biological father, and went to a place very far from where he can be monitored, Wrong  Decision. He felt he has arrived, no more correction or control over his life. He wanted privacy from his father, so he gathered all he was given and left home.
Many Christians have fallen victim of wrong decisions in life. Some in marriage;listened to false allegation and made the wrong decisions. Some in their carrier, all because someone looked down on them, made the wrong decisions. Many protégé left their master hastily, thinking they’ve know it all, they all gathered what they’ve acquired and left from their source of protection, providence and sustenance, and went far from their right location. May I pray with you, in any area you’ve made the wrong decision, may God open your eyes to discover your mistakes in Jesus Mighty name, before the time elapses against you, may you realise and turn back in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Think and right your wrong decisions. Stop thinking of rejection, take a bold step and turn back, I see God favouring you in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Good Morning.

TOPIC : LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON 1: Wrong Request

Memory Verse: Prov. 14:12.
“12 There is a way  that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.”

Bible Reading: Luke 15:11-12.
“11 Then He said: “A certain man had two sons.
12 And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.’ So he divided to them his livelihood.”
Good Day and welcome to this week devotional. We will be digging out some lessons from the story of the prodigal son.
First lesson today is “WRONG REQUEST”. Inheritance is what belong to a child after his/her parents death. God promised Abraham the land of Canaan but keep telling him, it’s an inheritance of his  children’s children after him. He showed Him the land, He walked through it but never had it while alive.  After Four Hundred and thirty years, it was handed over to His descendants. That is an inheritance. Inheritance is only active after the demise of the owner. The prodigal son asking for his inheritance while his father is still very active and alive is a wrong request at the wrong time. It’s a sign of impatience. He was the youngest and had an active elder brother. It shows how lazy he was to make such request.
What are you requesting wrongly? What are those desires of yours that needs to be patiently earned? Some request sounds like, “I Don’t Mind What You Feel Or What You Go Through, I Just Need This And That”, these are wrong request at the wrong time. That you are gifted as a minister doesn’t mean you are called to start your ministry. That you earn more than your spouse (even as a man) doesn’t make you God of the home but a bread winner. Your wisdom might be respected but that doesn’t mean you must be the leader of your group. Wait for your time to get your inheritance. The prodigal son, though was granted his request, but it wasn’t an inheritance any more but a cursed gift. Beware not to lay a curse on yourself through greed for power, position, wealth and fame. Think about your request and let it be rightly presented.

TOPIC : BENEFITTING FROM GOD’S WORD
(Recap For The Week)

Memory Verse: Jere. 23:29.
“29 “Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?”

WEEK 2 RECAP
Day 1
By Reading And Studying God’s Word
2 Tim. 2:15.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Reading the Bible is the first way to enjoy the produce of God’s Word. When you read and study the Bible you get the right and full information. The Word Of God, The Bible, contain life, wisdom and revelation. The word of God is like a fire that consumes any waste within one’s life. It enlightens and gives insight. Reading the Bible is one of the best way to hear from God, be acquitted with the Word.

Day 2
By Mediating On God’s Word.
Joshua 1:8
“8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and  then you will have good success.
What is Meditation? Meditation simply means to ponder about something, to think deeply, focus to get a point from what you are studying or reading. Meditation is the brain behind successful studying. Many read and studied the Word of God without meditation, so therefore, they easily forget what they read and gained nothing from it. Through meditation on God’s Word, deeper revelation is received. Devote more time to meditate on God’s Word. We benefit better when we meditate on God’s word.
http://mymobiledailydevotional.blogspot.com/2022/01/mobile-daily-devotional-with-pst_9.html
Day 3
By Believing God’s Word.
Bible Reading: 2 Corinth. 4:13
“13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and  therefore I spoke,” we also believe and  therefore speak.”
What you believe inspires what you do. When we read and study God’s word, couple with good meditation, it increases our believe in God. The believing is where the possibility begins. Meditation makes the truth known, believing makes you experience the truth. When God’s word is dished out, do you believe it? When you read the scriptures do you believe what you read? Until you start believing you won’t start experiencing the possibility.

Day 4
By Hearing God’s Word.
Bible Reading: Romans 10:17
“17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of  God.”
We said, one of the greatest benefit of the word of God is “Increasing Faith”. The word of God nourishes our faith, it helps our faith to grow faster than we expect. Reading, studying and meditating on God’s word will increase our faith but when we hear the Word of God through Servants of God, who are called to teach and unfold the word of God, our faith increases exceedingly.
Most times, what you hear remains in your memory than what you read. You get to  know more when you hear God’s Word.

Day 5,
By Acting God’s Word.
Bible Reading: James 1:23-23
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers  only, deceiving yourselves.
23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;
The main essence of God’s word is to make a new thing out of us. Acting on what we read, studied, meditate on and what we believe is the evidence that we respond to God’s instructions from His word.
The Word Of God should change our thinking, attitude and way of life. When the word of God becomes our way of life winning soul will be the easiest task for us. When your actions is contrary to what you read, you haven’t started studying God’s word.
http://mymobiledailydevotional.blogspot.com/2022/01/mobile-daily-devotional-with-pst_12.html
Day 6
By preaching The Word.
Math. 28:19-20.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all  things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  Amen.
The Word of God is for  our benefits and also for the benefit of those who are yet to accept Christ as their Lord and saviour.
The essence of all these benefits from God’s word is, “To Make Disciples Of All Nation”. Making disciple is part of the benefit of God’s word. What you don’t have you can’t give, what you don’t know you can’t teach. All those benefits prepares us to achieve this singular reason for God, and when we achieve this we make the Heavens Happy. To win a soul into God’s Kingdom is the greatest benefit of God’s word, are you disciplining others?
http://mymobiledailydevotional.blogspot.com/2022/01/mobile-daily-devotional-with-pst_13.html
I pray with you today, May you enjoy all the benefits in God’s Word, may you be able to devote more time to the studying and mediating of God’s Word like never before in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
God bless you.
See you next weekend for another recap.

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Fakunle Emmanuel Week 2, Day 6,
Friday, 14th January 2022.

TOPIC: BENEFITTING FROM GOD’S WORD 6:
By Preaching To Others.

Memory Verse: Jere. 23:29
“Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?”

Bible Reading: Math. 28:19-20
“19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  Amen.”
The Word of God is for  our benefits and also for the benefit of those who are yet to accept Christ as their Lord and saviour. It’s been made known to us how we can benefit from God’s Word. All the benefits discussed are to be replicated in the lives of others which is a commandment from God, “To Make Disciples Of All Nation”. Making disciple is part of the benefit of God’s word. What you don’t have you can’t give, what you don’t know you can’t teach. The word you Read, Studied, Meditate on, Heard and Believed is what you need, to make Disciples for God.
2 Tim. 2:15, says,
“15 Be  diligent to present yourself approved to God, a  worker who does not need to be ashamed,  rightly dividing the word of truth.”
We should be able to divide the word of truth, making truth known to those who are yet to know Christ. We are to teach them all we have received as a benefit from the word of God. This is the Great commission, to “Go and make disciples of all Nation”. Having all the benefits of God’s word without reaching out to others is disobeying God’s commandment. The greatest of the benefits is to win a soul for God with the truth we have discovered. Are we fulfilling this benefit and this commandment? Be truthful to yourself.
Good Morning.

TOPIC: BENEFITTING FROM GOD’S WORD 5:
By Acting The Word.

Memory Verse: Jere. 23:29
“Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?”

Bible Reading: James 1:23-25.
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers  only, deceiving yourselves.
23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;
24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”
The word of God we read, studied, meditated and hear can be a proved through our action. The word of God is to be acted upon. Acting the Word of God is a prove of meditation and hearing God’s word. This is the greatest benefit of the Word of God. When the Word of God becomes our daily lifestyle and routing, the purpose of God can be achieve. The purpose of all these messages here and there is to live the way Jesus lived, Is to makes the world a better place. With the Word to God flying everywhere, If we can act on them we will be saving lives without preaching or carrying the Bible.
The Word Of God should change our thinking, attitude and way of life. When the word of God becomes our way of life winning soul will be the easiest task for us. Are you acting the word you’ve Read, Studied, Meditated on and heard? Is there any prove that you have the word of God in you? If people still ask you, “Are you a Christian? “And you said you go to church? That means you are not benefiting from God’s word as a Christian. The word of God is like a mirror which naked you to yourself. If the word of God doesn’t change your attitude, you’ve not been acting on what you’ve heard. Act what you hear and meditate on and you will reflect God in all you do.

“Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?”

Bible Reading: Romans 10:17
“17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of  God.”
One of the greatest benefit of the word of God is “Increasing Faith”. The word of God nourishes our faith, it helps our faith to grow faster than we expect. Reading, studying and meditating on God’s word will increase our faith but when we hear the Word of God through Servants of God, who are called to teach and unfold the word of God, our faith increases exceedingly.  Apostle Paul understands this well, that was why He said,
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of  God.”
The more we hear, the more we become, the more we understand, and the more we get better and bigger spiritually. Most times, what you hear remains in your memory than what you read. You get to  know more when you hear God’s Word. You can hear God’s word in church, through media forms and through asking question about what you don’t understand as related to God’s word. Listening to and watching messages are ways to increase our Faith faster, that is why it is good to keep the fellowship of the brethren where we hear the word of God in details. Get addicted to hearing the word of God in order to build your faith. Enjoy the benefits of Hearing God’s word.
