TOPIC: WHO IS JESUS 1: The Bread Of Life

Memory Verse: Math 16:13
“13 … He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

Bible Reading: John 6:48
“I am the bread of life.”
Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour was sent to this world to close the gap between mankind and God. He came in the nature of man, lived as men, ate and drank what men lived by till His time to fulfill His assignment on earth. He lived and introduced Himself in different forms while on earth.
This week, we will be studying of His personality, First, as The Bread Of Life. In our world, bread signifies what we eat for sustenance. Biologically, we need food for growth and life, without this, we cannot live healthy and we need it daily. The Bible also confirm this in 1 Corinth. 6:13 by Apostle Paul,
“Foods for the  stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them…”. Our stomach is meant for the food. No matter how you fast you must come back to eat. Likewise, Spiritually, we need the bread of life to feed on, spiritually, which we can only receive from Jesus Christ our saviour. Jesus introducing Himself as the bread of life means, what we need to live on spiritually is Jesus, the bread of life. We need the physical bread (food) everyday, likewise, to be healthy spiritually, we need the bread of life day and night. This bread of Life – Jesus Christ, give life eternal to any who eats of it.
John 6:49-51
49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
50 This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.
51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread  that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”
Jesus is the bread of life and we all need Him to live because without Him, we will remain Spiritual Kwashiorkor. How often to do we eat the bread of life? Are you eating of it at all? Were you able to eat of Him today? Without Him, we can do nothing. He is available to those who desire to eat of Him.

TOPIC: IMPROVE YOURSELF 6: Your Services

Memory Verse: 3 John 1:2
“2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all  things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

Bible Reading: Colo. 3:23-25.
“23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to  the Lord and not to men,
24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for a you serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.”
This week, we’ve reason together on areas we need to  improve on ourselves in order to be positioned for what God has for us. Above all, today, I will want to encourage us on improving our service life. As Christians, our services is to reduce the burdens in our various churches. We are to improve on how we handle the things of God. Many Christians render their services to God but not wholeheartedly. Many end their services to God with complain, grudges, insult, or with high reward expectation from the servants of God.
Services is different from work or labour. Work and labour attract wages from your employer but service is sacrificial. When we render ourselves to God through a man/woman of God, we are equally working together to be paid by God. Service is an act of worship to God. Our service should have no end, It should be continuous. As long as we live we must serve God, so we need to improve on our service life. I’m not saying, you won’t be discouraged, reproached, or even attract more enmity to yourself but this is what we should know, our services to God shouldn’t be reduced but need to be improved on.
To the Colossians, Apostle Paul said, it is God that will reward us and not man. We are to make God the focus of our services. For He is not a debtor but a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Improve on your service to God and you will never regret you did.

TOPIC: IMPROVE YOURSELF 5: Your Marriage Bond

Memory Verse: 3 John 1:2
“2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all  things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

Bible Reading: Eph. 6:22-33.
“22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
27 that He might  present her to Himself a glorious church, not  having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.
31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33 Nevertheless let each one of you in  particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.”
Marriage is the will of God for mankind not just for Christians, Gen 1:28. It is a tool in the hand of God to fill the earth with human being. God created marriage for Matured Man and Woman, to live together as one. The door to every successful marriage should be LOVE (although some entered with lust) but to sustain every marriage, we need more than love and this is where many get it wrong. I will like to say this, no marriage can’t be successful if the parties involves are not willing to improve on their individual lives. Change is constant in every human and likewise in marriages, so, personal improvement goes a long way to forster our marriages in order.
Apostle Paul talked about the attitude of the husband to the wife and vice versa. If the man is ready to improve on himself in order for the marriage to work, it will be done. Likewise, if the woman will improve on her attitude and submit, the marriage can work. Every challenge in our marriage is directing us to improve on some areas of our life. For men, improvement on how to relate with woman, understanding their attitude and their strength can help build a better marriage. Woman should also improve on accepting the man’s fault, and focus on his strength with prayers, the marriage can work.
I’ve come to discover that, every successful marriage is a product of “the Fool and the Wise”. One plays the fool while the other plays the wise, but at the end of it all, the wise one will discovered, he/she was not the wise but he/she was just accepted to play the role. Likewise, the fool will also realise that, his/her foolishness was what built the marriage. Improve your marriage by being bendable, forget about finding faults, forgive ahead and make your home your responsibility, before you know what, you are building a successful home. Improve by reducing your nagging, correction, casting of blame, reasoning before castigating, and be a listener. Your marriage can be the best by improving on yourself to influence your partner rightly. Your marriage depends on you.

TOPIC: IMPROVE YOURSELF 4: Relate Equally

Memory Verse: 3 John 1:2
“2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all  things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

Bible Reading: Philippians 2:3-4
“3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”
To be like Jesus, we all need to improve the way we relate with everyone around us, both the High and Low, the Great and Little, Favoured and Unfavoured, God created us all. Segregation is one of the bad habit that has dominated Christiandom. We rate people by what they have, what we have and where we are presently but we are all equal in the sight of God. Position, wealth, anointing, title has made us create a gap between ourselves right inside the church, we need to improve the way we relate with everyone around us, within and outside our local churches.
Apostle Paul was  speaking to the Philippians on how to treat one another. He explain that love should reign and not rank. He talked about looking out for one another regardless of the differences between us. We need to be selfless in relating with everyone around us starting from the church, our various home, places of work, in our community and market place. Everywhere is filled up with churches and Christians but the love that Christianity professes is lacking. We care for ourselves only, we focus on helping and blessing people within our circle of friends alone. We look down on those who have not, as been lazy or wasting our resources when given to them. We see others as inferior to ourselves and this can’t help the Gospel of Christ to spread.
Relate with the low and the high; the slave girls, sales boys and orphans around you. See others as someone who needs you and you need. Seeing others better than you, does not reduce anything from your life, it rather proves you to be humble. Care for the less privileges, look out for others not just those you know, and with this, souls can be saved, life can be touched and wounds can be heal. Improve your relationships with people around you and you will find yourself pleasing the Lord. May God bless His word in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

TOPIC: IMPROVE YOURSELF 3: Be Different In Character

Memory Verse: 3 John 1:2
“2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all  things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

Bible Reading: 1 Tim. 4:12.
“12 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Everyone has a nature which God has imbedded in us. Many influencing factors has taken over our real self, influence of envy, revenge, hatred and poverty. Our words has changed and our faith has been tampered with all in the name of being like someone else. We are so much carried away by what others are and have departed from who God created us to be. We’ve looked down on ourselves the way other sees us and this has killed the self esteem imbedded in us from the foundation of our creation. We’ve been mentored against our real self. We’ve been tutored to be bad examples which we know we are not.
Apostle Paul, speaking to His spiritual son, made it known to him to work on Himself not working on whom others want him to be. He should be different among other believers. We are to be a good and different example to others not like them. We are to work on our real nature to be better on a daily bases and not to be the product of a bad influence. To relate in love, in purity of mind and in faith. We need to improve on our mind set, not to be what the world would have us be but what God would want us be.
Attitude of men are not to be our focus but the attitude of Christ. He refuses to be influence by the Pharisees and the Sadducees. He mede His stand known and till today, billions of soul became His follower. Improve on your faith, your love and purity of heart. Stop seeing yourself as haven reached the best you can but keep working on yourself.

TOPIC: IMPROVE YOURSELF 2: Carrier Wise

Memory Verse: 3 John 1:2
“2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all  things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

Bible Reading: Exo. 31:1-5
“1 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:
2 “See, I have  called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.
3 And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
4 to design artistic works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze,
5 in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of workmanship.”
God is not just interested In our spiritual well being alone. He also wants us to improve in our chosen field of work. He wants us all to get to the level He has predestined for us before the beginning of the world. You can do more than what you’ve achieve, all you need is to improve on yourself the more.
God directed Moses to an artisan who will do the work of the temple exactly the way He wanted it. He called him by name and by tribe, “Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah” and God explained to Moses how far he has improved on himself, he could work on any mineral resource to give him what he wants. God said, “he has given him the wisdom, knowledge and understanding to design artistic works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze, in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of workmanship.” The same God gave everyone of us the same wisdom, knowledge and understanding in different field He has called us into but we might not have been working on it. We depend on what we know and not ready to go the extra mile to improve on ourselves.
Your income is solely determine by the improvement you are making. How often do you go the extra mile in your endeavour and business? Do you just think that is enough for you? You need to enlarge and increase your intake of ideas in order to increase your income too. God is not one sided or just spiritual only but He wants to introduce you to someone who will be a blessing to you but until you improve on your carrier. Expand your tentacles to enjoy the abundance of God upon you.

TOPIC: IMPROVE YOURSELF: Spiritual Life

Memory Verse: 3 John 1:2
“2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all  things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

Bible Reading: 2 Tim. 2:15.
“15 Study to shew thyself approved unto  God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly  dividing the word of truth.
This week we shall be discussing on which area of our lives we need to improve. Anything or person that stays stagnated can’t be fit for future use. The foundation of everything starts from the spiritual realm. Every success one achieves start from the spiritual, that is why many who wants success search for diverse spiritual means to get it. But the only and right way, without negative repercussion, is through Jesus Christ our Lord.
How do we improve our spiritual life,
1. Through the reading of God’s word, Ps. 119:130. Our memory verse says, study to show yourself approved unto God. The more we study God’s word, the more we know more of Him, then the more He reveals himself to us which will in turn increase our walk with the Lord.
2. Through Prayer, Jere 33:3. Our spiritual life can be improved through continuous prayer life. God want to communicate with us in order to reveal His purpose to us.
3. Through fasting, Math. 17:21, Act 10:30-34. Fasting prepares your body, spirit and soul to communicate better with God. It helps to separate oneself for God and this in turn help in improving our spiritual walk with God.
God wants us to move from the level of milk to bone, from the level of babe to adult and without these three instrument it might not be possible. Work on yourself in order to improve your spiritual life. Create a time to fast, pray and study the word and your life with begin to reflect what God has ordained you for. God bless us all this week.

Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Fakunle Emmanuel
Week 39, Day 7,
Saturday, 2nd October 2021.

TOPIC: “GOD WITH US” 7: Be Conscious Of Him

Memory Verse: Math. 1:23,
23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

Bible Reading: Gen. 39:1-8
“1 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the  Ishmaelites who had taken him down there.
2 The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a  successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand.
4 So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he  made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.
5 So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the LORD blessed  the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had in the house and in the field.
6 Thus he left all that  he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.
7 And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.”
8 But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand.”
The consciousness of God being present around us sustain His presence. God desire to remain in contact with us every moment in order to enjoy Communion with us. He wants a relationship like that of the Garden of Eden with the first man and woman. But when we are not conscious of His presence around us, it hurts Him.
Joseph’s secret of God’s presence was the consciousness of God being present. Even in a foreign land he maintain that consciousness of God’s presence. The scripture talked of how his master identify God’s presence around him until he made Joseph the ruler of his home. This consciousness was made know when the mother of the house made a request of laying with Him and Joseph made it known to her that, He can’t do such thing because of God’s presence, Gen. 39:9. This landed him in the prison but he still retained God’s presence with him.
What is that act that send away the presence of God? What is the pleasure that takes over God’s presence from you? God want His presence to be made known to others through us. He wants a relationship with us in order to make us the real person He has predestined us to be. How conscious are we of the presence of God? Are we sending him away or retaining him with our words, action and thought? God knows about those temptation, He just want to know how we respond to them. God is always around us, let us stop sending Him away.
