TOPIC: STAND OUT 7: With Gratitude Heart

Memory Verse: Math. 5:14
“14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Bible Reading: Ps. 89:1
“1 I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.”
One great ability that we all take lightly is the ability to be grateful to God for all He has done in our lives. The act of gratitude is very scares among believers. We focus  mostly on what God has not done or perfected and take an oversight of all His act within us. We complain too much, when we see others achieving our desires but not us. We refuse to understand that God doesn’t repeat a process of miracle or believe in photocopying His work for His children. Gratitude is one act that can make us stand out for God in this world.
When the sea opened for the Israelite to cross over, they sang song to God, making it known, there’s none like our God, but they swiftly forgot this act when they face the water of Marah, Ex. 15. Our Bible verse today talks about speaking of the act of God forever. Recounting the mercy of God towards us on a regular bases. Our situations shouldn’t be the reason for our complain. We should be able to see and remember His faithfulness upon our lives, in the past and present.
Like King Solomon did, He was grateful to God that, He could be the next King of Israel and not any of his elder brothers who were well qualified for the throne (in the sight of men). He made the greatest sacrifice ever and God singled out His kingdom till date. There has never been any rich king or man as he was. His gratitude to God singled him out, as an out standing king even beyond His father in wealth. Your act of gratitude can stand you out in life if you will focus on where God has brought you from. If you won’t be distracted by other’s achievements but focus on your own accomplishment, then aspire to move forward with your gratitude to God, He will make you stand out in life.
Be grateful for where you are, thank Him for those accomplishment of yours, always know that someone is desiring to get those things you’re  complained about. Give God gratitude for your life and see you standing out in life. God bless you.

TOPIC: STAND OUT 6: STUDY GOD’S WORD

Memory Verse: Math. 5:14
“14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Bible Reading: Ps. 119:97-104
“97 Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.
98 You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; For they  are ever with me.
99 I have more understanding than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation.
100 I understand more than the ancients, Because I keep Your precepts.
101 I have restrained my feet from every evil way, That I may keep Your word.
102 I have not departed from Your judgments, For You Yourself have taught me.
103 How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 Through Your precepts I get understanding;  Therefore I hate every false way.”
The whole world was created by the Word of God. Every creation, till date, is a product of the Word we speak. Everything starts from the heart as a thought. We spill it out as a word to work towards it. You inform people about it, desire for accomplishments increases. You put brains to work. Hands contribute it’s part, sooner or later, the vision that was a word becomes real. Every dream start as a word till it got fulfilled, so, the word create everything. Now, the intake of your word determines the word the heart produces.
Every heart filled with the word of God can’t create evil or become devilish, if this happens, that means the intake word has changed.
King David, speaking of how He became who he was, called the word of God several names in our passage today. He explained what the intake of God’s word did to his life. The more devoted we are to God’s words, precept, instructions, testimony, commands and judgement, this will be equivalent to how we stand out in the world today. The word teaches us wisdom, gives us insight and revelation as we study. It makes known to us what to do and how to do it.
The infilling of God’s Word enable your word to create your world. When you are empty of God’s word, your word will be empty to create anything, then your heart will be open to evil act, and such evil thought begin to penetrate your word. You cannot stand out without God’s word been loaded in you. Study, the word of God, to show thy self approve in order to divide the word of truth rightly and grow in Him. The Word of God has the ability to stand you out anywhere you are. Increase your intake of God’s word. God bless you.

TOPIC: STAND OUT 5: BE DILIGENT IN WHAT YOU DO

Memory Verse: Math. 5:14
“14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Bible Reading: Prov. 22:29.
“29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before  mean men.”
Most time, we Nigerians spiritualize things so much. We categorize everything as spiritual. Our neglected duty and responsibilities are seen as spiritual attack. When we leave our business place for worship centre, we think that makes us religious but the reverse is the case. We misplace our duty and diligence, we love to interchange our working time with leisure time. We cry for God’s miracle but seize to be at our point of duty.
King Solomon talked about a man that will stand out, he said, He is a diligent man at what he does. He is a business man who is after profit at what he does. He separates the time for work from the time of service.  He is diligent with money issue, time conscious and gain oriented. This doesn’t mean he cheats everyone who patronises him but he makes sure he satisfies his clients. He gives them the best. They obey the rule, “customer is always right” in their business places. They separate family member from business, credit are not allowed and they are good at what they do. This is diligence in business, these are the ones who stand out in life, and stands before kings.
Colossian 3:23-25, says,
“23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as  to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye  serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.”
When we are diligent in our business, paying tithe won’t be a challenge and this will guarantee God’s protection over us and our business. We don’t need to pray so hard to be bless in our businesses if we will be diligent therein and follow God’s principles. Only few can stand out in business and these are ones who follow diligence in business. Do you want to stand before Kings?
“…. “Render therefore to Caesar (business) the things that are Caesar’s (business), and to God the things that are God’s.”
Math. 22:21.
God bless you.

TOPIC: STAND OUT 4: WITH YOUR FAITH

Memory Verse: Math. 5:14
“14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Bible Reading: Hebrew 11:8-12
“8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing  where he was going.
9 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise;
10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.
12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.”
Faith is seeing the desired result ahead of the present challenges. It’s seeing the possibility in all impossibilities. Faith means, accepting what God said against what others may say. Faith is leaving everything in God’s hand, “Father, Am In Thy Hands = FAITH.” Without faith no one can receive from God, Heb. 11:6. Your faith stands you out from the crowd.
Abram, at 75 years, was told to leave his father house and country to an unknown place by unknown God and he left, that is faith. God said he will make him a father of nations and he was close to one hundred years, still he had the faith. When he was Ninety-Nine years, God couldn’t hide anything from Abraham because of his faith in God, he revealed His plan to him, Gen. 18:17-19. Your faith can present you above others before God. By faith Abraham had Isaac, and enjoyed all the promises of God.
Faith is not the absent of challenges, troubles, difficulties or reproach, faith is the ability to walk through all opposition till one gets to the right destination, the promise of God. If you can’t walk in Faith you can’t stand out for God. If your faith is not active you won’t be differentiated among others. We walk, move, speak and act by Faith not by sight. When your faith is intact your step will always be above. Check your faith if you are not standing out, refire it and move on. God bless you.

TOPIC: STAND OUT 3: Be Concern about God’s Properties

Memory Verse: Math. 5:14
“14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Bible Reading: Nehemiah 1:1-4
“1 The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. It came to pass in the month of Chislev, in the  twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the citadel,
2 that Hanani one of my brethren came with men from Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews who had escaped, who had survived the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.
3 And they said to me, “The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with  fire.”
4 So it was, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.”
Standing out among our peers involves showing love to the things of God, having concern about the things God cares for. God cares for souls of men, for the labour of His children and His temple, so to stand out for God, we must also care for what God cares for. The heart that is concerned about what concerns God is a heart that is ready to stand out.
Nehemiah was a slave in shushan. He was the King’s cupbearer and was well treated and enjoyed favour despite being a slave. When he saw His brethren from Judah, he felt concern for how Jerusalem was, and the report made him wept and cried to God on behalf of the city of God. He stood up for the city and received the backing of God. Through Nehemiah and the help of the King (which he served), the wall was rebuilt. He’s concern for the things of God made him to stand out for the rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem.
Many destinies are laying down wasted because many of us have not shown concerned. What you have concern for is also a pointer to what God has called you to do. Nehemiah never had any vision from God to rebuild the broken wall but His concern for it led him to rebuild the wall. What are you standing for? What is that issue that burdens your heart? What are those things you have concern for even when others are mocking it? Stand out by putting your best to put it right, that may be what you are called to do. Take the decision to stand tall for what you are concerned about and the Lord will back you up in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

TOPIC: STAND OUT 2: Take A Decision

Memory Verse: Math. 5:14
“14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Bible Reading: Daniel 1:5-8
“5 And the king appointed for them a daily provision of the king’s delicacies and of the wine which he  drank, and three years of training for them, so that at the end of that time they might serve before the king.
6 Now from among those of the sons of Judah were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael,  and Azariah.
7 To them the chief of the eunuchs gave names: he gave Daniel the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abed-Nego.
8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s  delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.”
When we do not take decisions for ourselves others will do for us. When we don’t take our stand, others will force us into their opinion. Every stand we take, knowingly and unknowingly defines who we are. Our principle is what determines where we end up in life. For us to stand out, we need to take our stand ourselves. Know what you want and go after it.
The life of Daniel and his friends was planned out from the first day they entered into the kings service. They decided on what they wanted, they took the bull by the horn and they were able to stand out throughout  their days in Babylon. They purposed not to defile themselves with the kings meal and wine. They choose to take what they were used to and for ten days, they was difference between them and the their colleagues. For three years, they separated themselves from the free food of the king and they were found ten times better their equal. You need to take your stand to stand out.
Where you are shouldn’t change the ‘you’ God created. Many may flock together and enjoy their life with the kings meal, that doesn’t mean you should be equally yoked with them. Until you know what you are in for, and what you want you can’t separate yourself from others. You need to discover whom God has called you to be. You need to know the “What You Are Created For” before you decide to stand out. You need to see yourself different from others in order to stand out. What are you purposing to make a difference for? Others shouldn’t be your yard stick. Make your decision and stand out. God bless you.

TOPIC: STAND OUT 1: Be A Light

Memory Verse: Math. 5:14
“14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Bible Reading: Math. 5:14-16
“14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a  lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
When you live a society and your absent is not felt you’ve lived below God’s expectation from you. When you are not in a place and people are not asking why you are not around you’ve not lived a fulfilled life yet. No one is created to be a liability in the world. God is not that wicked to create a human and send to the world without a purpose. Everyone is made to be a solution to a problem either known or unknown, you are to stand out everywhere you find yourself.
We are ordained to be salt in this world, to add taste to everyone that comes our way. Anywhere we are, we are to be a light, why light? it exposes darkness. It reveals the hidden secrets. It illuminates and it brightens up.
Romans 8:19,
“19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.”
Only those who become the sons of God can be the light of the world, those that are the standing out, for without God we can do nothing, John 15:5. Not knowing God, places us under the yoke of the world, makes us miserable and without purpose. Until we come to the giver of light we will not light the world. To stand out means, to stand with God, to stand on His shoulder, and influence the world positively. The creation; the oppressed of the devil, less privilege, lost soul, need the sons of God to stand out for them also to become a stand out. Are you standing out for God? Are you one of the sons of God that the creation await? Not just being a born again but bringing others to God also. We are the light that can not be hidden, let your light shine that men may see your good works and follow it to God.

TOPIC: GOD, THE PROVIDER 6: RENEW STRENGTH WITH HIS PROVISION

Memory Verse: Is. 1:19
“19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;”

Bible Reading: 1 Kings 19:3-8.
“3 And when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and went to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.
4 But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, LORD, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!”
5 Then as he lay and slept under a broom tree, suddenly an angel touched him, and said to him, “Arise and eat.”
6 Then he looked, and  there by his head was a cake baked on coals, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank, and lay down again.
7 And the angel of the LORD came back the second time, and touched him, and  said, “Arise and eat, because the journey  is too great for you.”
8 So he arose, and ate and drank; and he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights as far as Horeb, the  mountain of God.”
Every provision of God has a target. It’s for a purpose in our lives. God’s provision has different purpose per time per chance. His provision might be for sustenance, for increase in strength, to help meet others needs. The provision of God in the life of David was to save the nation from the Philistines. Joseph, to save his people from famine. Moses, to set his people free from the Egyptian, and many more, that provision has a purpose to fulfill.
This time in Elijah’s life, the provision was to renew His strength, to enable Him for the journey ahead, to keep him on his toe. Elijah felt he has no more power to handle the situation at hand. He fled for His life, left his servant behind and went a day journey. But the Lord came to renew his strength through two different meal, and said “Arise, eat for the journey is too great for you.” This provision was for strength renewer, and it took him forty days and forty night journey to the mountain of God.
When the purpose of God’s provision is not recognise misuse is inevitable. Every provision of God has an assignment in your life and to others. When God provided for the widow of Zarephath it was for the sake of Elijah’s sustenance and she was able to live with it also. Have you recognise the purpose of that provision in your life? Some of us have God’s provision to help God’s servant in ministry, other to help people in their place of work, some to help the less privilege. When you refuse to use the provision rightly, God can never be happy. Discover the purpose of that provision in your life. Not all provision is for your consumption, they have their purposes.

TOPIC: GOD, THE PROVIDER 5: CHANGES CHANNELS OF PROVISION

Memory Verse: Is. 1:19
“19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;”

Bible Reading: 1 Kings 17:7-9
“7 And it happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.
8 Then the word of the LORD came to him,  saying,
9 “Arise, go to Zarephath, which   belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.”
God, the Provider, can never be dried of means for provision. He has the strategies and He’s so perfect in his acts and ways. Some may see Him wicked because of what they are going through but that is not whom God is. He is a loving and caring Father. The great provider for the whole universe. He changes channels of provision at will, for His children. He never closes His provisions permanently, He will always come with alternatives depending on how we’ve handled the previous provisions.
When the brook dried for Elijah, A man that stands before God, A real child of God, He led him to another channel of provision. God showed Elijah how much He cares for him, and how He, God, can’t watch him go hungry. He led him to the widow of Zarepheth, who barely struggled for surviver.
Many Christians still focusing on the dried brook. Many of us wouldn’t recognise that God is changing our channel, so we stick to the initial channel, hoping our provision is still there. When some loses their jobs or channel of provision, they often see it as the end of the road not knowing the Widow of Zarephath is still available to take good care of them than the brook and the raven. Stop knocking the door that God has locked and ask Him to show you the new channel of provision. God has change that helper of yours, stop fighting him for not helping you again. I pray for someone to understand this message better in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. God changes channel of provision, when it’s your time may you recognise it in Jesus Precious name, Amen.

TOPIC: GOD, THE PROVIDER 4: PROVISION DOESN’T LAST FOR LIFE

Memory Verse: Is. 1:19
“19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;”

Bible Reading: 1 Kings 17:6-7
6 The  ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook.
7 And it happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.”
Everything God created has an expiring date. This world has an expiring day. All human have different expiring date. The animals, birds, crippling things all has theirs. Likewise, the wealth and provision of God has an expiring date. Everything God created has this limitation for God can’t be equal with anything or any man He created, and that is why there are different seasons, Eccl. 3:1-8, Gene. 8:22. This is why we have the poor who was once rich and the rich who was once poor. That God blesses you doesn’t mean the provision can’t expire.
The brook dried off and the bird couldn’t bring bread again because the famine was three and half years. The provision of God need to be invested because the dry season of the Lord is still on the way. Whatever provision you are enjoying from the Lord, you need to guide it jealously in other to prolong it’s use. If Elijah had worked on reserving the water, keeping little behind, when the brook dried it would have sustained him, but the reverse was the case, the brook dried and there was no more water for Him to drink.
That surplus you have now, that is wasting may soon dry if you won’t prepare for the dry season. The provision of God over your life can still vanish if you won’t use it wisely and invest it. Joseph invested in the first seven years of surplus and that sustained the whole land of Egypt during the seven years of famine, Gen. 41:33-36. Hope you are using that God’s anointing wisely? Or you think that’s how it will keep rushing? God provided that job so you can invest in order to sustain you during famine. Everything dies/expires, use them wisely before they expires. May God give us wisdom to do this in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
