TOPIC: A WET WOOD: WHO IS A WET WOOD?

Memory Verse: Prov. 26:20
“20 Where there is no wood, the fire goes out;  And where there is no talebearer, strife ceases.”

Bible Reading: Leviticus 6:12
“12 And the fire on the  altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be  put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings.”
A Christian who is not available for the use of God can be term a wet wood; someone who finds it difficult to do the things of God, Who finds the Gospel irritating. If the word of God is a no go area for you, your spouse not enjoying your marriage, your boss not being satisfied with your services, all such  services may be regarded as wet wood. Someone who keeps finding fault in everything done in the church, places of work, family, who is not ready to lift a hand or to create a difference, you are that wet wood this message is referring to. You keep seeing the bad aspect of everyone but nothing  bad from your own side. You have never been a blessing to people around you neither have you bless anyone around, you are that wet wood. Everyone try to avoid you anywhere you are and you think it’s respect, sorry, you are that wet wood whom the dried wood is avoiding.
The priest, when making sure the fire on the altar keeps burning, search for a dry wood, an available wood, competent wood that will enhance the fire. He separate the dry from the wet wood. He select the available and useful wood in order to fulfill God giving instructions on the altar. When your boss prefer giving others your responsibility, check yourself if you are not that dried wood. When your spouse prefer an outsider for a home discussion, are you the dried or the wet wood? In your church, when others keep distancing themselves from you, it might be your bad influence that’s presenting you as a wet wood.
God is in search of dry wood who will be available for fire to be on the altar. Not just services in the house of God alone qualifies you to God but every areas of your life. Your family, work place, environment, place of worship, all these places is what determine the type of wood your are. Listen, God want us to live a life that will point people to Him and not a life that will point others to the devil. Which wood are you? Wet or dry wood?

TOPIC: A WET WOOD: WET WOOD KILLS FIRE

Memory Verse: Prov. 26:20
“20 Where there is no wood, the fire goes out;  And where there is no talebearer, strife ceases.”

Bible Reading: Levi. 6:12-13
12 And the fire on the  altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it  every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings.
13 A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out.
Wood is the secret to a burning fire. Every fire needs a wood and not just any wood but a dry wood in order to produce the needed fire. No matter the numbers of wood if they are wet, they are useless in creating fire. So, for a fire to be effective a dry wood is very important that’s why you see our aged parents trying to park the wood away from the rain in order to enjoy effective fire. This is my question? Are you a wet wood or a dry wood?
God instructed Moses to let the priest know that there should be a constant fire on the altar. The priest need to get woods that can produce fire, it’s their duty to select a dry wood not just any wood, wet wood can’t bring constant fire on the offering altar. In order words, a wet wood is useless on the altar. It’s brings waste of effort, waste of time and kills the fire.
On the altar of Christianity, are you a wet wood? Do you keep the fire of God burning? Can your wood sustain the Spirit of God? I mean, can God trust you to extend His fire to others?
Lord Jesus, my desire is to be a dried wood that keeps the fire burning, so help me in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

TOPIC: WHILE WAITING ON THE LORD: BE SENSITIVE TO HEAR HIM SPEAK

Memory Verse: Ps. 40:1
“1 I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.”

Bible Reading: Judges 6:11-16
“11 Now the Angel of the LORD came and sat  under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah,  which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his  son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites.
12 And the  Angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!”
13 Gideon said to Him, “O my lord, if the LORD  is with us, why then has all this happened to us?  And where are all His miracles which our  fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the LORD  bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the LORD has  forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.”
14 Then the LORD turned to him and said, “Go in  this might of yours, and you shall save Israel  from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent  you?”
15 So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”
16 And the LORD said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man”.”
God is always willing and ready to speak to us in our present situations. While waiting on Him, His word is the only response that can help us. He is available to speak to us but most times, we are carried away by our present situations that we couldn’t hear Him speaking to us. We are more focus on what we are going through than preparing to hear Him speak. May I tell you today, His Voice is all you need to hear, just be attentive to Him.
During the days of Gideon, the Israelites went through a lot in the hands of the Midianite.  They were all waiting for a new judge to deliver them from their enemy. Gideon thought all he could do was to hide the produce of their farms not knowing God has been waiting on him for a long time, but one day, he was so attentive to hear God speak to him and the waiting of the whole Israel came to an end. God did spoke to him, convinced him of whom he is and what he can do. More so, that he is with him in all his decisions.
Many of us are so busy to hear God speak to us. Some believe the Lord should speak to them in a particular way, others thought He should use someone else rather than who He is using. We can’t decide for God how He’ll speak to us, when He’ll speaks or who He is sending to us, all we need is to hear Him speak to us. His voice should be our earnest expectation. It should be what we are craving for. When we hear Him we find a way out of our waiting. When Gideon heard Him, waiting for a judge came to an end. I pray this morning, may we be able to hear and recognise His voice when He does speak to us is Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
An end will come for our waiting period in Jesus Precious Name. Be ready to hear His voice.

TOPIC: WHILE WAITING ON THE LORD 5: DON’T QUIT

Memory Verse: Ps. 40:1
“1 I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.”

Bible Reading: Job 14:14
“14 If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait, Till my change comes.”
Tough time never last but tough people do. Situations come and go. Challenges keep moving like a wind. Hard times comes and soon, all situations become softer, easier and relief steps in only for those who never quit. Winners never quit and quiters never wins. There’s a short story I will like to share about bed bug. “The mother bed bug was telling her children, when this people pour hot water on you, make sure you don’t move, be patient for a while and endure the pain, sooner, the hot water will become cold, and you will start moving again, the hot water always turn cold very fast if you can be patient”.
Job went through what no one has been through. He felt the hardest pain of life, loosing everything that gives one joy. From Grace to dry grass. From wealth to stinking poverty. He lost every forms of relationship from children, friends and wife but one thing he never did was to quit, to give up on God. Job said, “All the days of my hard service I will wait, Till my change comes”,  And the change came, God remembered him and turned the tides around because He never Quit.
I’ve been hearing of people committing suicide, going into rituals, becoming armed robbers, married women  going into extramarital affair because of delay in pregnancies, they all quited during the waiting period. There’s always a price to pay during the waiting period, ability to keep moving when the situation is hot because sooner or later, we will overcome if we do not quit. Don’t give up on God, God is not that wicked to leave you in that situation.
Father in the name of Jesus, help me not to quit, help me to with stand all forms of opposition coming my way till my waiting period is over in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen

TOPIC: WHILE WAITING ON THE LORD: BE A BLESSING

Memory Verse: Ps. 40:1
“1 I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.”

Bible Reading: 2 Kings 4:8-17
“8 Now it happened one day that Elisha went to  Shunem, where there was a notable woman,  and she persuaded him to eat some food. So it  was, as often as he passed by, he would turn in there to eat some food.
9 And she said to her  husband, “Look now, I know that this is a holy  man of God, who passes by us regularly.
10  Please, let us make a small upper room on the  wall; and let us put a bed for him there, and a  table and a chair and a lampstand; so it will be,  whenever he comes to us, he can turn in there.”  11 And it happened one day that he came there,  and he turned in to the upper room and lay down  there.
12 Then he said to Gehazi his servant, “Call this Shunammite woman.” When he had  called her, she stood before him.
13 And he said to him, “Say now to her, ‘Look, you have been  concerned for us with all this care. What can I do for you? Do you want me to speak on your behalf to the king or to the commander of the  army?’ ” She answered, “I dwell among my own people.”
14 So he said, “What then is to be done for her?” And Gehazi answered, “Actually, she has no son, and her husband is old.”
15 So he said, “Call her.” When he had called her, she stood in the doorway.
16 Then he said,  “About this time next year you shall embrace a son.” And she said, “No, my Lord. Man of God, do not lie to your maidservant!”
17 But the woman conceived, and bore a son when the appointed time had come, of which  Elisha had told her.”
Waiting period is a sowing time. During this season you need to sow the seeds you still have with you in order to change your season. Many see that season as the season to expect from God and people alone. It’s a season to scatter your seeds abroad. No matter how your situation is, you still have a seed to sow.
The Shunamite woman was rich and honorable but remained in the waiting season for a child. In that season, she found out that Elisha needed from what she has, despite her condition, she gave it willingly and consistently to the servant of God. She gave Him a room, a bed, a chair, a table and a lamp. Elisha felt  the impact of the seeds and this propelled the spirit of God in Him to release the blessing of a child on her and it came to pass.
When you withhold what you have because of what you are searching for, you take the risk of loosing everything, or prolonging your waiting period. That act of kindness might be what the Lord is waiting for, for your season to change. Stop extending your waiting period, stretch your hand and heart to help those you can for God to change your season.
I pray with you this morning, that seed in your hands, will put an end to your waiting period in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Most needs you see in others is what God want you to meet, be helpful to others consistently.

TOPIC: WHILE WAITING ON THE LORD: SEEK FOR HELP

Memory Verse: Ps. 40:1
“1 I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.”

Bible Reading: Gen. 40:9-15.
“9 Then the chief butler told his dream to Joseph,  and said to him, “Behold, in my dream a vine was before me,
10 and in the vine were three branches; it was as though it budded, its  blossoms shot forth, and its clusters brought forth ripe grapes.
11 Then Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand; and I took the grapes and pressed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and placed the cup in  Pharaoh’s hand.”
12 And Joseph said to him, “This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days.
13 Now within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your place, and you will put Pharaoh’s cup in his hand according to the former manner, when you were his butler.
14 But remember me when it is well with you, and please show kindness to me; make mention of me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this house.
15 For indeed I was stolen away from the land of the Hebrews; and also I have done nothing here that they should put me into the dungeon”.
Today’s lesson is one of those areas of my life that the Lord has been working on. Some of you may be living the way am living. Sir’s and Ma’s, I hardly ask people for help and this has left a lot of us crawling instead of flying. Many didn’t know how to even ask for their right. Some believe it’s God’s duty to speak for them whereby God has shown to them their right. The problem most of us have is the fear of rejection, reproach, pride or what people will say there after, but we should remember the book of Matthew 7:7, which says, “Ask and it shall be given unto you…” We need to ask.
Joseph utilizes the best opportunity he had to send a message out of the prison. After using His talent to solve the Butler’s problem, he requested for a help. He explained he’s situation to the butler of how he’s been punished for sin he never committed. Until he asked for help his waiting period never ends. Despite asking, it took two years later before he was remembered, what if he had never asked? Luke 18:1-7, the widow kept asking for help until the judge listened to her.
When you find the help you need to put an end to your waiting period, don’t be too proud or hesitate to ask, forget the shame and make the request. The worst that might happen is denial, but, one day, someone will render the help you are in need of. Be persistence in asking for the needed help. Let people know you need the help. If Jesus could say we should ask despite knowing what our needs are, so, why can’t we make men understand they are holding unto our help? I pray for everyone, that spirit of timidity that makes one loose his/her opportunity by not asking, that spirit is dead in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. That needed help will not pass you by in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

TOPIC: WHILE WAITING ON THE LORD: KEEP MINISTERING

Memory Verse: Ps. 40:1
“1 I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.”

Bible Reading: Luke 1:5-12
“5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of  Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the  division of Abijah. His wife was of the  daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.
6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and  ordinances of the Lord blameless.
7 But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years.
8 So it was, that while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his division,
9 according to the custom of the priesthood, his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
10 And the whole multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of  incense.
11 Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
12 And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.”
Our attitude to the things of God while waiting matters a lot. How we handle our responsibilities in our different department or the services we are rendering to God matters. When your situation dictates your response to God’s work it may prolong your waiting period. The accuser of brethren keep finding faults to cage one in their bad situations. During our waiting time, our services should be more effective, productive and with sincerity.
At old age, Zacharias and His wife, Elisabeth, had no child of their own. Zacharias was a Priest, and with His wife, they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and  ordinances of the Lord blameless. They were still faithful in their services to God. They refuse to be controlled by their barrenness and still attend to services wholeheartedly. When the waiting day was to come, Zacharias was still at his duty post rendering his services to God. Let’s imagine, he decided to stay back that very day because he had no child, we will never heard about his record in the Bible today.
That God hasn’t release the answers to your prayers is not a reason to turn your back on God. Waiting period is not time to avoid God but a time to prove your works to God. It’s the season to add more zeal to your commitment in the things of God, your place of work and your marriage. Don’t be controlled by your situations, control them and be at your duty post always. When our God comes looking for us, may He meet us at the right place we ought to be in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Be more committed. Be fervent at your duty post because no one knows the day of visitation.

TOPIC: WHILE WAITING ON THE LORD: KEEP PRAYING

Memory Verse: Ps. 40:1
“1 I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.”

Bible Reading: 1 Kings 18:41-42
“41 Then Elijah told Ahab, “Get up, eat, and drink. It sounds like a heavy rain is coming”.
42 Ahab got up to eat and drink. Elijah went to the top of Carmel and bowed down on the ground to pray.” (God’s Word Version)
Waiting season is that season when our expectation from the Lord is so high. Seasons we so much expect rewards from God. A season that can only be changed by Miracle. This is a time to turn to God In prayers. It’s a season to increase our fasting and prayers. To keep the fire burning. Waiting period is that period that the promises of God seems to have failed and that is the season you fire prayers the more.
Prophet Elijah was a man of fire, a man of prayer and a man that stands before the Lord always. His words were always backed up by the heavens. Every decree He makes God hasten them to pass. This same Elijah said to the King “I heard the sound of abundance of Rain” according to the word of the Lord that, He is sending the rain, 1 Kings 18:1, but the rain refuse to show up, every where was still sunny I guess. Prophet Elijah intensified in prayers in a harder way, putting his face between his knees,
“42 So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And  Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees,” (KJV)
And this prayers brought an end to the waiting season, I decree this morning, your waiting period will be over in Jesus Mighty name. Your season of God’s response are coming this month, nothing shall cause any delay again in Jesus name, Amen.
I don’t know how long you’ve waited, I don’t know many years you’ve  persisted in that same situation but I know you still need to pray. Am not saying paying someone to pray for you, not a prophet praying for you, I mean, you going through the exercises of prayers, crying to God from your heart in secret, and your waiting period will end in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Father, we pray this morning, as many of us waiting for your manifestation for the past years, let our prayers be harken unto in Jesus Precious Name. Father as we pray let the heavens be open to us, O Lord and grant our requests in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Mobile Daily Devotional Pst. Fakunle Emmanuel Week 31, Day 1.
Sunday, 1 August 2021.

TOPIC: A New Beginning: Expect challenges.

Memory Verse: Gen. 8:1
“1 Then God remembered Noah, and every living  thing, and all the animals that were with him in  the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the  earth, and the waters subsided.”

Bible Reading: Gen. 1:1-3.
“1 In the beginning God created the heavens and  the earth.
2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was a on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there  was light.”
I welcome you all to this Eight month of the year, it shall be to us a New Beginning, a Fresh Start, A New Season in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. The Lord remember you and turn your situations around in Jesus Precious Name.
How prepared are you for the New Beginning? Every new Beginning comes with different challenges. Also, remember that every beginning is a sign of a concluded ending. Every month appears different but I pray with you, this month will end in praise for us all in Jesus Name. When God started the creation He wouldn’t have thought it will be as it were. Darkness showed up, it was formless and void, nothing looks encouraging, but our God couldn’t turned back which is the reason why you can’t change your mind this month. Two things you need the most this month,
1. The presence of the Spirit of God, the scripture said “And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” When the Spirit of God is leading there’s always a way out from every situation. The Spirit of God brings encouragement, enablement and insight, may you enjoy His leading this month in Jesus Precious name, Amen
2. Ability to speak into being what you desire. Declaration, Prophesying or speaking against the presented situation. God had to make decree of change before it became what He desire. What you say is what you have.
This month, walk and work with this two keys to be able to enjoy the new beginning the Lord has for you. You will enjoy His blessing in Jesus Name, may His Spirit teach and lead you to your right destination this month by the power in the name of Jesus. Enjoy the new beginning, Happy New Month to you once again in Jesus Name, Amen.
