TOPIC: TIME AND SEASON: EVERY SEASON IS PRODUCTIVE

Memory Verse: Dan 2:21
“21 And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding.”

Bible Reading: Gen. 20:14-18
“14 Then Abimelech took sheep, oxen, and male  and female servants, and gave them to Abraham; and he restored Sarah his wife to him.
15 And Abimelech said, “See, my land is before you; dwell where it pleases you.”
16 Then to Sarah he said, “Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver; indeed this vindicates you before all who are with you and before everybody.” Thus she was rebuked.
17 So Abraham prayed to God; and God healed Abimelech, his wife, and his female servants. Then they bore children;
18 for the LORD had  closed up all the wombs of the house of  Abimelech because of Sarah, Abraham’s wife.”
Everyone is in a season presently. Your season might be pleasant or unpleasant, good or bad, rough or smooth, easy or tough, filled with disappointment or promotion. This is what I want you to know, no matter how bad or good the season may be, you can make it count, you can make new things out of it. That you are not having some things doesn’t mean you don’t have anything, that which you have make use of it, put it to work.
Abraham was an old man without the promise child from God. He was in a long season of childlessness. Ismail ( and his mother) has been sent parking from home and Isaac was yet to be born to him. But in that season, Abraham was blessed with silver, sheep, oxen, and male and female servant still without a child. That season was a blessing to him despite not having a child. Every seasons has something to offer you no matter how bad or good it is.
You mean you are jobless? You can upgrade your certificate. Are you still looking for a spouse? You can upgrade yourself for the right person. You are still childless, keep serving the Lord before the children comes around when you will be too busy for God. Every season is not as bad as you think. Are you in money, a good season, try to invest for the dry season. Are you enjoying favour here and there? Make sure you help others grow through you. Is your ministry flourishing now? Utilize the season by speaking the truth that will build the right people in position of leadership for the country. There is something you can achieve with that season you are in, either good or bad season. Just think and look around you, there is something you can add to your life and that of others in this season of yours. Take action and move on.

TOPIC: Time and Season: Time And Season Not By Wisdom

Memory Verse: Dan 2:21
“21 And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding.”

Bible Reading: Eccl. 9:11-12
“11 I returned and saw under the sun that— The race is not to the swift,  Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.
12 For man also does not know his time: Like fish taken in a cruel net, Like birds caught in a snare, So the sons of men are snared in an evil time, When it falls suddenly upon them.”
Have you found any MSc holder being a bike rider? A first class student working as a cleaner in an organisation owned/established by a  third class student? A lesser qualified controlling the higher. The wealthy without a child. Minister of the Gospel with health challenges. Most times, it’s not by qualification or by position but time and chances happens to us all.
Your degree will work. Your ideas will be honoured. Your wisdom will be needed. They that look down on you will soon look up to you. You will be called for. You will be sent for. You will smile again. You will become a celebrity, but know this, you will have to wait for your time. Your season is on the way. You don’t need to give up on God. That you are the audience today doesn’t mean you won’t be the performer soon, it’s your season that matters. It’s not by age, not by seniority and not by birth position, it’s by time and season.
Father, bring my season of manifestation speedily. Let my time come, let me bring glory to your name, In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen

TOPIC: Time and Season: God Changes Time and Season

Memory Verse: Dan 2:21
“21 And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding.”

Bible Reading: Eccl. 3:1-8
“1 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:
2 A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted;
3 A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away;
7 A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak;
8 A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.”
There’s nothing that last forever. Everything has an expiring date. Nobody remains in a place for life. No position or situations is permanent. There is time and season for everything under the sun. Darkness has it time and the sun has it time. Raining season and dry season. Good and bad time. The fact is this, every human will experience different times and seasons in life because we can’t remain in a position for life. Jesus is the season changer. He changes time and seasons. He turns things around at will. This makes Him God over all.
From our bible reading, King Solomon made it know to all that, human will go through those phases of changes in life. Seasons that are palatable and seasons that are not. Time that things works for us and when things won’t work. That things are going on smoothly now doesn’t mean it will continue that way, it’s not a curse, it’s according to time and season. Whatever you are going through today, I want you to know that, it’s just a season in your life, another season will soon come. You’ve gone through different season in life and they came and pass, this too will pass, but are you prepared for that new season you desire?
The season changer is alive and He keep changing seasons, May He make your seasons pleasant in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

BE A SOUL WINNER

Memory Verse: Prov. 11:30
“30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,  And he who wins souls  is wise.”

Bible Reading: Luke 5:10-11
“10 and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with  Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men.”
11 So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him.”
We were made to know that, every occurrences around our lives that it is beyond our comprehension is God calling us to Himself. He uses every avenue that can make us understand His voice to speak to us. Some might be challenging situations or uncomprehending blessings, whichever it may be, He is calling you to Himself, to do what, if you may ask? To be a soul winner.
After His blessings upon Peter, He converted him to fishers of men, a soul winner.
Math. 4:18-20 put it this way,
“18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
20 They immediately left  their nets and followed Him.
The call of God for individual believer is to win souls for God. To draw men to Him with what He has bless us with. God saved you in order to save others. He called us to be a fisher of men so we can call others too.
Your wealth is a tool to win God a soul. Your marriage, profession, business and life style are tools in your hand to reach out to others for God’s kingdom. When you are stingy with what God blesses you with, you are only reducing the worth and the value of that gift. Have you reach out to people with that wonderful tools in your hands?

BE HUMBLE ALWAYS

Memory Verse: Romans 9:16
“So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.”

Bible Reading: Luke 5:8-9.
“8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at  Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!”
9 For he and all who were with him were  astonished at the catch of fish which they had  taken;”
Often, we believers take the mercies of God upon us to be a result of our righteousness. We feel we are righteous that’s why God has been blessing us, helping us and favouring us. That we are alive is not a prove of our faithfulness, but a prove that God loves us and want to us to be a useful vessel in His hand.
Peter identify what he  received as what was not deserve. He knew he was not that righteous to enjoy such benefit from God so, he was optimistic that he was a sinner who is not qualified to enjoy such blessings from God. He cried to Jesus to depart from Him because he was a sinful man who doesn’t deserve such attention from God.
When things are working for you stop seeing them as what you’ve worked for but as a way of God reaching out to you. Those miracles, favours, help and faithfulness of God around you is a way of God calling you to himself. He is seeking for your attention. Surrender yourself to Him today before it’s too late. He keep blessing you to turn your attention to Himself. Come and dine with Him, He is calling you as He called Simon Peter. What will be your response to His calling?

NOT BY EFFORT

Memory Verse: Romans 9:16
“So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.”

Bible Reading: Luke 5:6-7
6 And when they had done this, they caught a  great number of fish, and their net was breaking.
7 So they signaled to  their partners in the other  boat to come and help them. And they came and  filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.”
God is ready to enlarge our coast. He is ready to make us great beyond our request. Most times we depend on our effort and not His blessings. We focus on our experiences and profession than God’s ability. The attention we are suppose to give to God we divert it for business but still we end up toiling without good result for our effort. God determines the happenings around us, when you give Him attention He attend to your needs specially.
Peter would have replied Jesus, “Oga am tired, pls come down from my boat, am going home” but he didn’t. All his effort amounted to nothing throughout the night but he attended to Jesus. Jesus told him to try again and spread the net, he complained about his toiling through the night but still went on to do according to his instructions and the blessings show forth.
Peter would have explained the time and season of fishery to Jesus, that the fish will be resting by now, as we believe the time for service of God is our business time. We give more attention to our business more than the things of God. We hardly sacrifice our time to ear His plan for our life but plan our business diligently. He need our attention to reach out to us. Do you give Him the attention he needed from you?

TOPIC: STUDY ON LUKE 5:1-11: ACT BEYOND YOUR DOUBT

Memory Verse: Is. 1:19.
“19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;”

Bible Reading: Luke 5:4-6
“4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to  Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down  your nets for a catch.”
5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master,  we have toiled all night and caught nothing;  nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”
6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.
There are times when prophesies come through people we never believe could be used by God or people with doubtable character, as long as the prophesies is not negative, do the needful and move on. God can use anybody and anything to speak to you. Even when you are in doubt, give it a trial as long as it doesn’t have negative impart on your life.
Jesus said to Peter, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” Two instructions were given to Peter,
1. Launch out into the deep – go back to your duty post,
2. Let down the nets for a catch – stretch more than one net to the sea.
But Peter carried out the first instruction fully but half of the second  instruction, he let down a net and not the nets, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”
Letting down a net was a tremendous blessing to him but how would it have been if he let down the nets?
Believe God for what He says He will do. Follow his instructions fully even when you are in doubt, because God is not a player, He means what He says.
“If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;”

TOPIC: STUDY ON LUKE 5:1-11: INSTRUCTIONS PRECEDES GOD’S BLESSINGS

Memory Verse: Duet. 28:1
“1 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently  obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I  command you today, that the LORD your God will  set you high above all nations of the earth.”

Bible Reading: Luke 5:3-4.
“3 Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat.
4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.””
Many Christians didn’t fail in prayers, fastings or service but failed in obeying and carrying out God’s instructions. God doesn’t bless you without giving you an instruction. The answers to our prayers are always instructions, directions and commandment. So when you fail the instructions you loose the blessings, I pray for someone today, may you be able to recognise and follow God’s instructions rightly in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Peter gave all he had with him to Jesus ministry but that doesn’t bring the blessing directly. Instructions follows after his service, commitment and sacrifice. Just like Naaman, he was expecting Elisha to come and lay hands on him and receive the healing but it came with an instruction. At the Red Sea, instruction was given to Moses to stretch the rod to the sea. Likewise, instruction was givem to Peter, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” God is not a magician, He has His principles to every blessings He releases. Most times, His instructions looks stupid, foolish and insultive but thereby, we loose the blessings attached to it.
Can you have a rethink, hope you’ve not rejected the instruction that was suppose to lead you out of that situations? Hope you’ve not ridiculed God’s commandment because they look too normal or doesn’t look real? God might have finish your case long time by giving you some instructions to follow but you’ve not taken them. If yes, search it out and start doing what He says. He told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, I wouldn’t have believed it was God speaking to me if I were in his shoe, but, He was the one. Stop delaying your blessings and follow God’s given instruction for your breakthrough.
Father, open my eye, my ears and my heart to your instructions to me in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

TOPIC: STUDY ON LUKE 5:1-11:
ARE YOU AVAILABLE FOR HIM?

Memory Verse: 1 Corinth. 4:7
“7 For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?”

Bible Reading: Luke 5:1-3
“1 So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the  Lake of Gennesaret,
2 and saw two boats  standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone  from them and were washing their nets.
3 Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat.”
Everything you have is from God. Whatever He gives you is meant for His glory. You and all you’ve gotten belongs  to Him as well. He needs those things you have for His glory and when you withhold it from Him He stop increasing what you have.
Yesterday, we saw how people were eager to hear God’s word and the extent they went with Jesus. Jesus needed a podium or an altar to reach out to them. Then He found two boats, which the owners were tired after a long day with fruitless labour. They’ve done all they could but couldn’t catch a fish. Jesus went into one of the boats and called the owner to paddle it around in order to reach out to the crowd.
God won’t bless or Increase what you have if you deny Him what you own presently. Sir’s and Ma’s, what you have is not for you alone, God kept them with you for an appointed time. Stop giving excuses for withholding what you have from God. Peter obeyed Jesus instructions, gave himself and his boat to God, regardless of his tiredness and his time schedule. He satisfied Jesus with everything he own. Give God your time. Give Him yourself. Give Him your resource, they are not just meant for you, it’s for God’s use. Stop denying people their blessing, release it to them. God need those things in your hands to bless their lives. Let God have access to you and what you have.

TOPIC: Study on Luke 5:1-11:
1. EAGERNESS FOR GOD’S WORD.

Memory Verse: Jere. 15:16
“16 Your words were found, and I ate them,  And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.”

Bible Reading: Luke 5:1
“1 So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the  Lake of Gennesaret,”
The thirst for God’s word in Christianity is very rare these days. Believers have develop the ‘over familiarity’ attitude with God’s word. The eagerness to Know, Hear and Read God’s word is no more. We go to church to dance, sing and chat with friends but the eagerness for God’s word is no more. The word comes to us but we are not ready to receive it, how eager are you for God’s Word?
From our studied chapter, Jesus was locating a good position in order to satisfy the hunger of the people for God’s word. The scripture said, “they press around to hear the word of God”. They were so thirsty for the word of God. This made Jesus to begin the searche for a podium to be able to teach the crowd and satisfy their longing for God’s word.
When going to the place of worship, do you go there to hear the word? Are you ready to do the word or you are there to criticise the word? When the word comes and reveal our sins to us how do we receive it? Jeremiah said, “Your words were found, and I ate them,” how often do we eat God’s word? We rather screen God’s word and select what pleases us. Most men of God try to preach selective words in order not to hurt the financial of the church. Where do you belong? Are you interested in God’s word or other activities in His presences? Do you have the time to open God’s word daily?
Joshua 1:8,
“8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall  meditate in it day and night, that you may  observe to do according to all that is written in it.  For then you will make your way prosperous, and  then you will have good success.”
