TOPIC: OUR GOD FORGIVES AND FORGETS: PICK YOUR PIECE AND STAND UP

Memory Verse: Ps. 30:5
“5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor  is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.”

Bible Reading: Judges 14:1-3
“1 Now Samson went down to Timnah, and saw a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the  Philistines.
2 So he went up and told his father and mother, saying, “I have seen a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines; now  therefore, get her for me as a wife.”
3 Then his father and mother said to him, “Is  there no woman among the daughters of your  brethren, or among all my people, that you must go and get a wife from the uncircumcised  Philistines?” And Samson said to his father, “Get her for me,  for she pleases me well.”
Judges 16:4-6
“4 Afterward it happened that he loved a woman  in the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
5 And the lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, “Entice him, and find out where his great strength lies, and by what means we may overpower him, that we may bind him to  afflict him; and every one of us will give you eleven hundred pieces of silver.”  6 So Delilah said to Samson, “Please tell me  where your great strength lies, and with what you may be bound to afflict you.”
If I were God, I would have been done with Samson and search for someone like Joseph for a replacement, but it’s unfortunate, I am Emmanuel who can’t tell God what to do, (Smile). Many times, long ago, God has forgotten our sins, He is just waiting for us to pick up our piece, stand to our feet and start moving. To learn from our mistakes and apply it, but we are still sink down in our unforgiveness, we need to wake up.
Samson couldn’t realise that women and wrong decision were his problem. He went against God’s instruction and force his parents to do his bidding. Then he fell into the hands of a woman who will end His reign over Israel but he knew not. His down fall came and swallowed him up. But, one day, he realized he was sent by God to deliver the Israelite and knew God still love him, then he cried out to God,
Judges 16:28-30
“28 Then Samson called to the LORD, saying, “O  Lord GOD, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I  pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one  blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my  two eyes!”
29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars which supported the temple, and he braced himself against them, one on his right and the other on his left.
30 Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than  he had killed in his life.”
God has forgiven those sins you refuse to let go. He is waiting for you to get up and complete the race ahead of you. Samson finished God’s will concerning his life despite the wrong request to die with his enemies but God still forgave him, wiped his sins and listened to his request. Cry to God this morning and forgive yourself of your past sins.  Ask for the grace to move on with the race. He has forgotten your wrongs.

TOPIC: OUR GOD FORGIVES AND FORGETS: ACCEPT YOUR MISTAKES

Memory Verse: Ps. 30:5
“5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor  is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.”

Bible Reading: Exo. 2:11-12
“11 Now it came to pass in those days, when  Moses was grown, that he went out to his  brethren and looked at their burdens. And he  saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his  brethren.
12 So he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.”
Numb. 12:1
“1 Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married; for he had married an Ethiopian woman.”
Numb. 20:9-12
“9 So Moses took the rod from before the LORD as He commanded him.
10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly  together before the rock; and he said to them,  “Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for  you out of this rock?”
11 Then Moses lifted his  hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and  water came out abundantly, and the  congregation and their animals drank.
12 Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron,  “Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”
Moses is one of the greatest prophet of God. He walked, worked and spoke with God face to face. He was the most troubled among all the prophet of God. He was troubled by his siblings and the entire congregation who left Egypt. He faced a lot of insult and reproach from the children of Israelite but still he was able to stand tall.
This was not without errors, he sinned against God Almighty three different times. He killed an Egyptian, he married from the rejected nation and also disobeyed God’s instruction. But in all, God forgave and forgot all his mistakes because of whom God is, the merciful God.
Jude 1:9
“9  Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
Despite all his errors, God forgave him and sent His Archangel to carry Moses’s body, denying all accusations against Him. When you accept  your fault and refuse to prove your innocency there’s forgiveness and forgetfulness of your sins, but when you keep proving your right to God, your sins will remain before God and judgement stands. I pray, that the spirit to admit, when we err from God’s commandments, will rest upon us all in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

TOPIC: OUR GOD FORGIVES AND FORGETS: Submission Is The Key.

Memory Verse: Ps. 30:5
“5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor  is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.”

Bible Reading: Acts 9:1-7
“1 Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest
2 and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to  Jerusalem.
3 As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven.
4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him,  “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”
5 And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”
6 So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
7 And the men who journeyed with him stood  speechless, hearing a voice but seeing no one.
God is not a man neither is He a reminder of the sins He has forgiven you of. When he let go off your sins or iniquities He covers it up without remembrance. He might be angry with you for a certain attitude or disobedience but if you can submit to His supremacy He will let go off your faults because He is God who forgives and forgets our mistakes.
Apostle Paul was a man who was zealous in killing any member of the “Way” – followers of Jesus, in his days. He received authority to kill followers of Jesus without being judged. He was there when Evangelist Steve was killed in Act 7:57-58. He received another letter to go after the disciples of Jesus and the Lord arrested him. I was expecting Jesus to start calling the names of every martiar he has killed but No, the Lord led him to Ananias to give his life to Jesus. Throughout his time, his past was not mentioned by God. God forgave him and forgot his evil act since he submitted to Him. He went on to write two third of the new testament. He was always found where persecution against Christianity was hot.
Your sins can be forgotten and forgiven if you will submit to God’s will for your life. He is not a man that will keep account of all your wrongs. He is faithful and just to forget our wrongs and put them behind him. No sins can’t be forgotten by God if we are submissive. Can you submit your sins and submit yourself?

TOPIC: OUR SUSTAINER: THANK YOU

Memory Verse: Romans 8:31
“31 What then shall we say to these things? If  God is for us, who can be against us?”
Bible Reading: Romans 8:31-32
“31 What then shall we say to these things? If  God is for us, who can be against us?
32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”
Today, being the last Sunday of June, the last Sunday of the half of the year, our Lord and God deserve our full praise.
This is the Twenty-sixth Sunday of the year and you are here safe, sound and hearty, He deserve your praise.
Apostle Paul says, “If God be for us who can be against us?” It’s a question. Apostle Paul was simply saying, God will go the extra mile to stand in for us. He will not allow us to be put to shame or defeated. Daddy deserve our praise.
Can you give an account of the victories the Lord has given you these past six months? The bills that was paid on your behalf miraculously? The healings you’ve enjoyed this year? Can you quantify them all? Jesus deserves all our thanks?
Death rate this year can’t be counted, you and I have not been a partaker of these, I think we need to give God a special thanksgiving today in our various churches. We need to offer Him our dance offering, Praise offering and resources offering for His sustenance till date.
Father, we celebrate your life in us. We thank you for sustaining us so far. You’ve kept us thus far, we are grateful. You preserved us till date, you are worthy of our praise. Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good and His Mercy endures for ever, Amen.

TOPIC: GRACE IS ATTRACTED: SIN REPEL GRACE

Memory Verse: Romans 16:24.
“24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, Amen.”

Bible Reading: Romans 6:1-3
“1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?
2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
3 Or do you not know  that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?”
We’ve been discussing on how we can attract the Grace of God to ourselves. However, we can walk into God’s Grace without praying for it. How good it is for everyone whom God lavishes His Grace upon? They are unique everywhere they are, I pray the Grace of God will rest upon us all in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Sin repels  Grace. No matter the principles we follow sin will stop grace from coming closer to us. We all have received Grace for knowing Christ but we are to move from that level of grace to the next. We are not meant to be stagnant in a spot concerning God’s Grace. Apostle Paul said, “shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? And the answer is no. Sin rejects the flow of grace. Wherever there is sin, grace can’t operate. God is too holy to behold sin and if He will not behold you, His Grace can’t see such person.
What is that sin in your life that is denying you God’s Grace? What is that sin you cling unto like a cloth? Does it worth it to loose God’s Grace? Are you happy the way you are with the sin and God’s Grace being far from you? It’s not too late to make the right decision. Today is the day the Lord has made for your salvation. Repent of those sins and turn to God. He is waiting and ready to receive you to Himself. Call on Him today and He will answer you and release His Grace upon you afresh.
You can say this prayer with me:
Father, am sorry for indulging in this/these sin(s). I know you love me more than I love the sins. I desire to walk in the life of Grace. Lord God, forgive me of my sins and take me as your child. I renounce sin(s) in my life today, I receive the Grace not to go back into it/them any more, Thank you Lord for saving me, in Jesus Mighty Name I pray, Amen.

TOPIC: GRACE IS ATTRACTED: THROUGH DETERMINED FAITH

Memory Verse: Romans 16:24.
“24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, Amen.”

Bible Reading: Math. 15:21-28
“21 Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”
23 But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send  her away, for she cries out after us.”
24 But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”
26 But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”
27 And she said, “woman Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
There are situations we find ourselves in life that the only way out is through determined faith. God’s Grace answers faster in such times. Your determination to hold on to your faith in spite of the hurdles around, attract God’s Grace.
The Canaanite woman was in need of Jesus’ help, but Jesus kept quiet without any response. The disciples came to Jesus to send her on her way, Jesus said, he was not sent to her because she wasn’t a lost sheep of Israelite. Then, the woman worshiped Jesus and he told her, she was not qualified for such miracle, since she’s a dog and not a sheep, it sounded like a slap on this woman. At this junction, any person will feel, I have tried, let me leave this man alone. But a determined faith pressed further in order to activate the Grace of God, and she threw in her last faith, “And she said, “ Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
There, God’s Grace was activated. That determined faith made Jesus release the Grace at his disposer. How determined are you with your faith? Do you give up on faith so easily? When your faith is consistent God’s Grace is sure. The woman’s daughter was healed and she became a testimony today.

TOPIC: GRACE IS ATTRACTED: THROUGH GOOD CHARACTER

Memory Verse: Romans 16:24.
“24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, Amen.”

Bible Reading: Esther 2:15-18
“15 Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of  Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his  daughter, to go in to the king, she requested nothing but  what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her.
16 So Esther was taken to King  Ahasuerus, into his royal palace, in the tenth month, which is the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.
17 The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight  more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.
18 Then the king made a great feast, the Feast of Esther, for all his officials and servants; and he proclaimed a holiday in the provinces and gave gifts according to the generosity of a king.”
Nothing speaks for someone like good character. How we behave, talk and deal with people around us, including our parents and guidance goes along way in attracting Grace to us. Good character is what sustain one in any area of life. It attract God himself into our life.
Esther was an orphan who was furtunate to have an uncle who cared for her. Mordecai trained her until she became a favorite to everyone who came in contact with her. Esther was respectful, teachable and obedient. These good characters in her earned her a place in the king’s palace in the sight of Hegai the king’s eunuch and also earned her God’s Grace in the sight of the king. Her character was what attracted God’s Grace to her.
What can people say about your character? Are you teachable? Do you love to be corrected? How has been your respect to your parents and guidance? In your work place, what can people say about you? Can your character earn you a place in the  sight of your boss? Good character attract God’s Grace, even the king couldn’t resist it. Work on your character and enjoy the Grace of God.

TOPIC: GRACE IS ATTRACTED: THROUGH SERVICE

Memory Verse: Romans 16:24.
“24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, Amen.”

Bible Reading: Ps. 89:20-21
“20 I have found My servant David; With My holy oil I have anointed him, 21 With whom My hand shall be established; Also My arm shall strengthen him.”
Grace of God answers to service. Every wholehearted servants enjoy Grace even without requesting for it. Service to God calls the attention of God. When we talk about service, most time, we think about only services render in the place of worship, no, even In your home, to your spouse, in the place of work, environment and community, service to others is attracting God’s Grace upon yourself.
David was in the bush serving his father, protecting his fathers sheep day and night, and the Lord saw this service as a qualification for Grace. God’s Grace fetched him out of the bush to be the king of His people. God said, “I have found my Servant, David”, but he was serving his father by taking care of the sheep.
Who are you serving? You can serve more than a master at once, (in the church, home and work place). Service that attract God’s Grace doesn’t involve complaining, grumbling or pretence. Eye service is not included but wholeheartedness and commitment are the tools to service that attract God’s Grace. When your master is not around, do you still serve as if he/she is present? Are you always happy to carry out his instructions without any profit? Can your service attract God’s Grace? Don’t just pray for Grace, work it out with your service.
Father, help me render services that attract you Grace in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

TOPIC: GRACE IS ATTRACTED: THROUGH HUMILITY

Memory Verse: Romans 16:24.
“24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, Amen.”

Bible Reading: Exo. 33:12-14
“12 Then Moses said to the LORD, “See, You say  to me, ‘Bring up this people.’ But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.’
13 Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.”
14 And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Numb. 12:3
“3 (Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth.)”
For anyone to enjoy the Grace of God, there must be a virtue that singles such one out. God’s Grace is meant for all but not all can enjoy it. That virtue is what attract God’s grace upon you. We’ve seen how walking with God and the Fear of God attracted Grace upon Noah and Job. Today, we are studying Moses.
Moses was declared, the most humble man on the surface of the earth by God not by men. He was so humble that he never saw His opportunity of speaking with God as an advantage against other prophets. He’s humility made him question God’s  rejection of the children of Israel when they made God angry. This humble man, Moses, was attacked by his blood brother and sister about marrying an Ethiopian and God showed up for him, Numb. 12:1-10. Moses said to God, if I have found grace in your sight, show me your way” and God revealed Himself to Him.
James 4:8,
“6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble”
The humble enjoy the Grace of God. With genuine humility, you can attract God’s Grace upon your life. How humble are you? Can grace locate your humility?
Be humble, to receive God’s Grace.

TOPIC: GRACE IS ATTRACTED: THROUGH THE FEAR OF GOD

Memory Verse: Romans 16:24.
“24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, Amen.”

Bible Reading: Job 1:1 & 8.
“1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose  name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and  shunned evil.
“8 Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you  considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”
The fear of God, says the wise man, is the beginning of wisdom. The Fear of God attract the Grace of God. When you remember what God dislike before taking any action you are on the verge of attracting God’s Grace upon your life. The fear of God makes one stand out before God and man.
Job was singled out all because of the Fear of God and, this attracted God’s Grace upon him. He told the devil, “Have you  considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth” (because of his fear for God). The devil knew him for his blameless life and his reverence for God. When you put God’s Fear first in your life, you are attracting His Grace upon your life. The Grace was available for job even when devil dealt with him and the Grace of God upon him still restore all losses back into his life.
Do you really fear God?  Have you ever considered what His desires are before taken those steps? The fear of God gives wisdom and attract God grace.
Be guided by the Fear of God, by so doing, you are attracting God’s Grace upon your life.
